  • This route begins at a Church in the small village of Kentmere where very limited parking and a single track road with few passing places pose an early challenge.
Once navigated this 15 mile loop picks up no fewer than 9 Wainwrights for its 1300 meters of ascent and its paved all round apart from a short decent from Shipman Knotts.

That was a long one Dave but it's on my list for our next trip over in 8 days time. Not much parking at the start might influence our start time, but 9 peaks in one hike is an epic hike. Food and water needed in abundance but was glad you were able to make your water last! Great video, regards, Ashley

Thanks i sometimes feel bad for making these videos so long but i feel they need the extra minutes to do these circuits justice. Limefit holiday park in troutbeck would be a reasonable alternate parking area as you would come up the same pass from the other side.

@@daveostlemountainman thanks for the parking advice. Long videos don't bother me, you can't shorten quality!!

Fantastic video Dave. Stunning scenery when you got to Kentmere Reservoir. It’s a walk I’ve got to do yet.
I’ve done the Fairfield Horseshoe so not sure how it compares to that? Definitely a lot more in mileage. Cheers mate, Matt

its about the same total ascent as Fairfield horseshoe but this one felt more gradual which made it a bigger/longer walk. The only part that was slightly upsetting was the descent from mardale ill bell back up on to Harter fell but the weather made this much harder than it needed to be
