Wanted to do both Fairfield and Kentmere Horseshoes this year, just finished Fairfield but never got this one done, so it will be next year now, as I want good weather. Looked a tough start and a boggy one too and I have done a couple of the Fells you did on this greater walk and intend to do a few more from Haweswater over the next few months. You got real lucky with the weather despite the forecast and the views were sensational. Good Information about parking, just as well I like to start walking at about 07.00, cheers Alan
Thanks for this one brother 👊🏼 great help this me and a mate tackling this next wknd so starting in the dark. This was a great help and I’m sure I’ll watch it again before we go 👌🏼 keep up the great work mate
@@MattDoesMountains it’s not easy doing theses videos and yours are quality. I always watch yours as I’m doing the 36 walks also so watching your videos 1st makes them so much easier to do 👍
Awesome vid dude , did it a couple of weeks ago and you couldn’t see 20ft in front of ya so nice to watch your video to see the views ha ha ha ,, keep up the good work champ ✊🏼✊🏾
Saved this walk for good weather mate, heard from a few people it was really good, they are not going anywhere mate so you can always go back 👌 thanks for the views mate 😍
Love this and all the videos. Great footage showing what the route is like plus I like the map and parking walk throughs at the end especially on this one. With St Cuthberts only having space for 5, it was great to point out the field to park that is only a 5 minute walk away. Phew. This is on our list next time we come over and good to know we do not have to get up at the crack of dawn because of parking.
Thank you mate, I tried to cover as many bases as possible with these videos to make it easier for people, I'm glad you've took something from the videos, good luck with the walk its really good this one, by far one of my favorites
Odd question, what brand hiking trousers and shorts are you using? This is the eternal struggle for me as everything looks so baggy on me no matter what.
@@mjkoehler73 they are Columbia pants mate but more like a track bottom, I've only got short legs and some brands only do a standard leg size but I found them in a short leg and a slimmer fit on Columbia, had them for years now and will just wear them out
@@MattDoesMountains You and me both! I have a pair of Revolution Race pants that are great except their length is for guys that are over 6 feet tall so they look just ridiculous on me. I'll check out Columbia, big thank you.
Thanks for sharing Matt. Some of the best footage I’ve seen of the Kentmere Round. When I did it, I got no views whatsoever, visibility was max 50m until Shipman. It’s top of my list for a re walk . 👌👏👏👏
Thank you mate, we got lucky with the weather on the day, what a brilliant walk that is mate and will definitely do it again myself in the future, once the weather picks up again hopefully you can get back out there 🤙🤙
thanks for this. I did this route on Saturday and it was super helpful for the parking and the general route. Tough day. Did it in just over 8hrs but that was with a 20 min stop for lunch and a bit of a hamstring injury towards the end. Amazing day.
i remember it well...my feet remember it well too...well done on nipping out to bag Gray crag, not known anyone do that before...im ready to do it again after watching this....great views all of the way round...cheers Steven
Thanks Steven, fantastic walk this mate and one of the best I've done so far, grey crag does add a bit of time and milage but needed to be bagged 😃 have a good bank holiday pal 👌👍
Thank you mate, really appreciate it, I'm going to start a lot more wild camping videos once I finish the Wainwrights, so hopefully find you some good spots 👌👌👌
Good vlog Matt, I’ve literally just got back this afternoon from doing the Kentmere Horseshoe, did it over two days with a wild camp on III Bell. I went the other way around and bagged Sour Howes and Sallows at the end. Fair play for doing Gray Crag that’s some out and back mate. There was a Trev C stone on Froswick summit could of been the same one or different one, Trev certainly gets about I’ve seen a few of them myself and wondered who Trev C is. Keep up the good work really enjoy your vlogs. Atb Karl.
Fantastic circular mate, I could imagine the wild camp on Ill bell would of been unreal aswell 👌 done sour Howes and Sallows a while ago, I think it was on the Troutbeck medley. I've had a little look around to see who trev is and can't find him, I'm very curious 😂 thanks for watching mate 👍
Nice one ,a good breakdown of the route ,plus the info of the extra parking...
No worries mate, thanks for the comment 👌👌

We did that walk some years ago. That treck to Gray Crag is a bit of a way to go for quite an undistinguished fell top.
One of my favorite walks by far mate but I would probably skip gray crag as you say, not much going on 👍
