I know it’s a pain when it snows if you’re travelling but how beautiful! I love snow especially when it’s thick and it’s covering the trees and I agree Ambleside is my happy place too! Loved this video! ❤
@@RobboAndTheculv We don't stay on campsites all the time, although more often than not and definitely more in the winter. During the lighter months, when we can get solar, even if we stay on campsite we tend to go for the small sites (CS or CL) and don't need EHU so that works out quite cheap. Over the spring and summer of 2023 we paid between £7 and £15 pn on sites and £0 to £7 for park-ups without services. During the winter, the cost of gas makes a campsite with EHU quite economical for us and with the cost of gas this year anything up to £30 pn is breaking even at this time of year when we have the heating on. We need hard standing this time of year when it's very wet, so bigger sites fit the bill, although there are still a few CS and CL sites open all year so we can get lower prices. If we can average over a year a budget of £600 per month then we feel that's ok and much less than living in a house.
@@MotorhomeMums thanks for your reply, we stumbled across your videos last night and as we're on the verge of going full time (with seasonal campsite work) it's good to have lots of opinions on how to make it work xx
Hi, I just found your channel and look forward to binge-watching while I make things to show on my channel. You ladies are living the life I wanted to live but my body had other plans and I just sold my RV. Broke my heart. never got to go full time and closed my RV travels UA-cam down. So now I will live my dream through you and others doing it. Live every single day to the fullest and go as long as you can because you never know when the Golden years will reach up and slap you down. But never give up!!!
Oh I am so sorry to hear you had to sell your RV. I hope you still have good memories. You are so right about living every day, it’s too easy to take things for granted. We feel so privileged to be living this lifestyle and will definitely make the most of it for as long as we can. 🙏🤗🚌❤️
Awww. Thank you. I was buzzing last night when I saw that. I love doing it so it’s not a hardship but a 1000 subscribers feels like a milestone. Much appreciated. 🙏🤗🚌❤️
Awww! Thank you. Snow was fun for us but only because we were lucky enough to stay. Not such fun for people trying to get through it, but local people were brilliant. 🙏🤗🚌❤️
Another lovely vlog-those cross climate tyres will be getting a good test. Plugged my van in at home overnight when it was cold last week it ran up around £10 on my home smart metre - camping in the Peak District this evening and glad of EHU! Look forward to seeing where you end up next - Sharon
Hi, really beautiful to see Ambleside like that and the drone footage was especially wonderful! We’d love to be stuck up there with you and Sasha enjoying the snow! So glad to hear your windscreen is fixed. What a palaver for you. I hope you might find a hook up and snow for Christmas to make it especially festive! I’ve got some catching up to do of your videos- a health incident has led me to be unfortunately so busy I’ve been missing watching you guys regularly lately. Hoping you’re all well and that Archie didn’t suffer I’ll effects from the snow. Take care, Anna xx p.s. please don’t worry about repeating info about campsites - your views and the info you give out are really useful especially to us dog owners and it saves us having to go back and find the previous video🤣🤣🤣
Glad to see your over your troubles and on the move again lovely Christmas scenery Can’t wait for next weeks vlog we are off in our newly converted van next year for a two week break in Scotland looking forward to it, it’s been a long time 😁❤x Safe travels Natalie & Karen Tay 🐕& Sanna🐕x
We are missing the snow, hopefully get some for Christmas, Kath you are so right about paying for ehu in winter, although we just filled up with gas after 10 weeks, 1 of which was off grid and it cost £8.54, so providing you can get gas I think you should consider Gaslow setup, great video with lovely footage 🙏👍👊🥰🏴🚌
I have made enquiries and our Motorhome man will fit them for us. I haven’t mentioned before on the vlog, but the reason we were static so long near Troon was that Sue lost her Dad so we’ve been thrown off for a while. I also want to reduce our weight so I can go for the 11kg bottles. Getting back on track so definitely something to get sorted next year. Gaslow is what will work for us and probably pay for itself quite quickly.
@@MotorhomeMums so sorry to hear that about sue’s dad, I’m sure it will pay for itself, especially as in the north and Scotland it’s still plentiful, 🥰
We’ve been looking at UK vans and are there any around like ours that are all diesel and therefore not reliant on gas ?? We have diesel heating and a cooktop which are awesome in cold weather ! Loved the drone shots and the Lakes showing off its glory !
I think most of the modern campervan are all 12v and use diesel heaters for the cold so don’t use gas. Not sure whether motorhomes are the same. Most of the ones I see use gas, although not necessarily the changeable calor bottles. Refillable LPG is definitely much cheaper and really easy to get in Europe. Fewer LPG stations in the UK, but apparently still doable. I’ve been considering changing to that for sometime just haven’t got around to it yet. Sue lost her Dad in October which is why we were static for some time and everything got put on the back burner. Lakes was just the tonic we needed. 🙏🤗🚌❤️
Doesn’t it get on your nerves that suppliers always jump on the bandwagon to raise prices as soon as they can regardless of whether they need to or not ❤
For God's sake, get a grip. There is about a half inch of snow. SNOWED IN? You are lucky you don't live somewhere they get real snow. UK is the only place that shuts down over a rumour of bad weather. JEEZ.
🤣🤣it was definitely more than half an inch, but you’re right in that the UK struggles. I guess as it’s so infrequent that the cost of fleets of snow plows that need to be housed somewhere and maintained for the odd few days a year that they may be needed is not worth it. So gritting it is. 🙏🤗🚌
The snow just adds to the problems of manoeuvring around narrow winding busy roads. Many English roads were built before the combustion engine existed and didn’t allow for cars, buses and caravans!
Nice video, thank you. I enjoyed watching it.
Thank you for kind words and of course watching. 🤗🙏🚌❤️
Lovely area and nice to see some snow ❄️ ❄️ Getting Calor Gas has been difficult so your right Electric hook up if possible.
I’ve been thinking about changing the gas system for ages. Time to bite the bullet I think. 🙏🤗🚌❤️🎄
I am sooooooo envious, Ambleside and snow, not a lot better ❤❤
🤣🤣🤣so true. My favourite place covered in snow. Hard to imagine anything better. 🙏🤗🚌❤️
Couldn’t have said it better myself
🇮🇪 Good video sharing

Apart from finally running out of gas we loved it and gave us a couple of unexpected extra days in this beautiful place. 🤗🙏❤️🚌
Oh I’m so so sorry I’ve just seen your latest vid that poor Archie has gone over rainbow bridge! Such sad news 💔 thinking of you all xx
Awwww Delamere one of my favourite local places ❤
It’s become a bit of a go to stopover for us as works well for both dogs and Sue’s running. 🤗🚌❤️

Calm down mate. If the roads are dangerous then they’re snowed in, no matter if it’s an inch or 10 inches of snow.
