I'm 31 with no idea of half of where my genes are from because my biological father disappeared without a trace when my mother told him she was pregnant leaving me with so many unanswered questions. I just recently sent in my sample kit. The next 6 weeks will feel like an eternity... I pray to get some sort of closure.

Christopher Hill OMG!!! I’m sorry about your father leaving.. but there are so many possibilities that could come from this! What if you find brothers or sisters on there?! I just hope you get the closure you seek💖 I would love to know how it goes!!!

@@amandavillarini Thank you. I'm glad you were able to get closure. It's stories like yours that inspired me to give it a shot. I truly am thankful to have the opportunity to live in an age that offers these types of technological opportunities for people like us.

My husband doesn’t know his dad his mother doesn’t even want to talk about him and she “doesn’t even have a picture of him “ we are trying to look for him but it’s so hard with having no information about him or a picture or where he use to live or his family nothing ! Is so frustrating. I’m happy for you !!!

I am so excited for you!! I am on a similar journey. Loved both videos. You have an amazing personality and I hope your father's side of family sees what a blessing you are to them. The wife will likely never see it. If she does, it will be because of the love she has for her sons (if she is the mother of your brothers). Don't let your stepmom's insecurities question yourself. Her venom is a result of a deep hurt about the whole situation and not you personally. You will just be the target because making your dad the target(where it should be) would jeopordize her financial stability. I pray your generation will get it right and you can become a part of that "tight nit unit" your brother spoke of. ❤❤🙏🏽🙏🏽

So happy for you watched both of your videos and I am so glad you got some answers. Please update us on if your biological father ever reached out or if you got to meet your siblings. I just discovered my biological father this year and 23andMe helped me.

I'm almost 60 years ago. Who my dad was was confirmed through DNA testing at 23andMe when first cousins I didn't know showed up in meeting familial reports. He died years ago. He would be in his 90's if he were still alive, but I have a 73 year old brother, and some of my paternal aunts and an uncle are still alive. One aunt is quite young, about 70, and personality-wise and in terms of intelligence we are almost identical.
I ended up in foster care during the 1970's. It weird to now have this family that existed the entire time. I try to deal with it by understanding the rights that unmarried men had back in the early 1960's.

Holy S#@! this story was intense! Glad that you were able to get a bit of closure from the test. When you told me this story at work I was like, "Damn, I should get a DNA test too".
On a side note; you'd be killer on twitch.tv, there's a "Just Chatting" section and your personality is PERFECT for it! RRQ - Relatable, Real, Quirky.

Amanda, do a AncestryDNA test. It will show how high their cM's and segments are. It's different than 23&me. Just a suggestion. I pray your father will reach out to you and that they they all would help you with your closure. Sounds to me like either they are afraid or just don't know how to approach it the correct way. Whether your father is rich or not doesn't really matter. It's your mental health. Thust me I went 60 yrs without knowing and once I accepted I may never know and let go that's when I found him. Let's just hope they don't wait until he is on his death bed to invite you in. You are young, and I know exactly how you feel. Just know you are not the only one. If they don't reach out then they lose, not you.

Hey Girl, I’m soo happy that 23 and me was able to help you! However I’m soo curious. If you take the test will it only show people in your family who have also taken the test.?? I haven’t been able to find my birth dad. I just am Afraid I would get this test and it won’t pull him or his family up cause they haven’t used 23 and me

Hi there!!! :) thanks so much for watching! And to answer your question, yes, only people who have used that exact type of dna service (ancestry dna, 23andme etc) will pop up on there. It’s completely up to you! There might be a link like a cousin or something which can help you look further but there’s also a small chance that there isn’t anything 🤷🏻‍♀️ whatever you decide, I wish you luck!! 💖 if you do find anything, I would love to hear your story!
