I could just cry, your videos make me emotional, because I feel less alone. I feel validated. Thank you for taking the time to make these videos for those of us that really suffer from horrible anxiety due to these ectopic heart beats. I pray that you are blessed beyond measure!
Forget the cardiology part for a minute…. His parents have done an amazing job in raising him to be an awesome human being! Every time I see him I think this is a dream of a child for every parent! I think his father in heaven watches him with a continuous smile on his face! RESPECT!!!! And MORE RESPECT! I have worked with hundreds of doctors and cardiologists and I don’t think I have seen anyone like him in my very long career…..
Please don't be hard on your cardiologist - he//she doesn't have the time to spend more than 10 mts max with any patient. That's how the system works unfortunately. But thank God for technology, UA-cam and Dr Gupta's hard work and dedication in posting this video and giving all the information and enlightenment. 🙏
Dr. Sanjay Gupta, you have given me back quality of life! I have had palpitations for over 30 years and never understood them until I found you! I have lived in fear for over 30 years! Thank you! Many, many Blessings to you!
Thank you SO MUCH for this. I have had these PVCs for the past 45 years, alarmed by them at first (lots of doctors and tests, etc.), then learned to live with them and not be frightened by them anymore. But now at age 65, I begin to wonder if they have taken a toll on my heart for more than 4 decades. You're reassuring me that they haven't and I can't tell you what sweet relief I'm feeling right now, complete with tears of gratitude. Thank you. Your kindness in sparing so many of us the anxiety of PVCs is greatly appreciated. More than you can know.
Hi,I am from India I am 23 yr old I also have ectopic heartbeat from past one year. You said you have pvc for past 45 yr In the beginning means in twenties are you aware of these ectopics And what's the frequency you feel in your twenties. I feel 2-3 ectopics a day sometimes alternate days and sometimes it disappear for a months. And how you deal with this pvcs for past 45 yrs I am worry that at later part of my life ectopics develops into afib. I am also worry about how I could live with this. Please guide me..
I am 67 and was recently diagnosed with afib; my "ecotopic beats" are constant - I feel no discomfort from them, save for the knowledge that I have them. I had an echo showing NO abnormalities with my heart. I am a life-long athlete - runner for 47 years - I stopped this with the advent of afib, but continue to walk 10 miles/day. I am heartened to hear that you have been living with afib for 45 years; I have curtailed my physical activities (rowing, elliptical, running, etc) because of the CONDITION - not due to any discomfort that I have. I have a consult with Dr. Gupta on March 3, so hopefully I will get positive feedback that will allow me to resume my normally VERY ACTIVE lifestyle. Thanks for posting your history of afib... that alone, makes me feel more confident
@@SatyamKumar-b3d2hWatch his other video on breathing and blood magnesium levels. I can't remember the title but it was made 6 or seven years ago. I hope that gives you some clue and helps🖖🏽✌🏽🙏🏽.
@@SatyamKumar-b3d2h It looks like you are not going to get an answer but, don't worry; keep watching Dr Gupta's videos !!!! He is the best and will answers to all your questions. He has tons of videos.
I love Dr Sanjay's sincerity, he really cares for those of us with heart deficiencies setting aside time to make these informative and often reassuring videos. 😊
Yes I really like watching his video after when I have seen by my heart Doctor because lot of different Doctors don't tell you what is a matter with you
Thanks for this, I’ve suffered from this for many years, it’s quite frightening at times. Doctors told me it’s not dangerous but have never explained why. You just did thank you for this. X
I have these almost daily and horrible anxiety surrounding them. Cardiologist said it’s just “missed” beats but you explained it so much more clearly. Thank you!
Me too. mine can last for several hours at a time and are sometimes close together. It makes my anxiety worse and makes me feel so tired and lethargic. I have been having them for several years now but am struggling with it after all this time.
God bless this man! I'm 61 at present and became aware of a fluttering sensation in my chest in 2021. I already had a Kardia device and it showed my heart was not in normal sinus rhythm, but nothing specific. So, I subscribed to the premium version and it told me they were PAC/PVCs. Needless to say I was extremely alarmed because my history with my Dad is Afib and ultimately a pace maker. He lived to be 91! I went to my cardiologist and they ran a holter for 24 hours and I had a about 3,000 ectopics out of roughly 100,000 beats. That is about 3%. My Doc said that unless the ectopic burden gets up to around more than 20% they don't even "get interested." He even said that an echo was optional at that point. Needeless to say I was relieved, but that nagging worry persisted as the fluttering continued. Some days I would just sit most of the day frozen in fear. I happened upon Dr Gupta who has honestly changed my life with his reassurances. I still have them and a few really give a kick, but I just carry on with Dr Gupta's words echoing in my head. I can successfully ignore most of them now.
@@maxcollisions138 You're not alone at all. From what I've read it's fairly common. I've been taking magnesium glycinate as Dr Gupta has suggested and it seems to have reduced the number of the ectopics. However, there are days when I can feel those "kicks" all day. It's unnerving at times, but I just keep saying "it's not life threatening" and try to carry on. Stay strong.
I’ve been suffering after the myocarditis caused by the major pharma company but none of my doctors take it seriously. It sucks it feels like you’re going to drop down dead anytime. Thanks for the video it gives hope.
That's the feeling I'm dealing with, not so much the missed beats but the other feelings that it causes, such as feeling faint or a spell of extreme fatigue, chest pain. I've had so many tests done, even a nuclear dye stress test.
CoQ10 has done wonders on my PVCs. It’s not a cure but the difference has been very noticeable. These things are absolutely terrifying, every major pvc attack feels like I’m going to die. It’s traumatizing
Been taking CoQ10 for close to 30 years. Last year all of a sudden my BP went to 90/40, I was in heart failure, and I needed my aortic valve replaced. In replacing it my surgeon found a 5mm hole in a leaflet of my aortic valve. I also had a bicuspid valve instead of a tricuspid valve. Although I went through a catheterization and a TEE the cardiologists did not find the 5mm hole that was in my leaflet of the valve. I recovered, but still wonder if CoQ10 helped me all through the years of having a hole in my heart.
If every doctor was as reassuring and descriptive as you the world would be a much better place! I’ve had PVCs since COVID and after finding your videos it has helped tremendously with my health anxiety. God bless you Dr. Gupta.
Dr Gupta you must cause lots of heart fluttering when you walk the wards!! So handsome!! But seriously, thank you so much for all you do to reassure those of us who suffer from palpitations etc. Always informative and interesting ❤
I have watched several of your videos and found them so reassuring. I've had ectopics for years - carefully explained by my kind GP - but they can still get me worked up at times. Your advice on breathing and not worrying has been so helpful. Old age, hypothyroidism and ME can be tiresome so feeling more in control of at least one thing is a bonus. Thank you.
Thank you for the review of irregular heart problems Doc, it really helps me who suffers from multiple PVCs. This is very disturbing when it appears, and makes people feel worried and afraid... I hope everyone who suffers gets a speedy recovery...
Dr Gupta, your calm and reassuring manner is one of your greatest assets! Another is the knowledge you bring to your videos and share with all of us who are not your patients. A few years ago (pre-Covid) I used to have episodes of ectopic beats which I found alarming, but following the advice in one of your videos I started taking a magnesium citrate supplement, which I still do today. After a few weeks my ectopics disappeared and have not returned. Although I can't be certain that was cause and effect, it seemed to me that it was, and I am very grateful for your advice and for the effort you put into your videos to help your viewers better understand the issues around cardiac health. Thank you!
Years of suffering and you’ve made me feel better. I had PVCs every 10 minutes this morning and called in sick for work despite having important meetings. I was crying my heart out and came across this video. Thank You, thank God l😢
I have them all the time there so scary I tried magnesium but didn't notice any difference but here is what I took and it helped so much try taking 1 vitamin d3 3000Iu and 1 vitamin b12 1000mcg take 1 of each once a day see if you notice any difference make sure you get the liquid capsule vitamin d3
@@CoreyLad-yf7tq yes and the scariest was when they wouldn’t stop for 2 hours straight. As if a fish is flipping in the chest. Paramedics saw pvcs on monitors and rushed to hosp. But cardiologists there were like it’s okay, they’re benign. I don’t even know!
@@CanadianWoman_ same I have been to hospital over 50 times and called ambulance 6 times over them I've had them for 4 years now and I also get the fluttering ones they are so terrifying I get them in the centre of the chest and also the left side of my chest under my nipple when I had a ECG at the hospital they also said I was having pvcs to but said my heart was fine they have almost ruined my life I tried the magnesium but it seemed to either not help or even make them worse but 1 week ago I started taking liquid capsule vitamin d3 and vitamin b12 and amazingly it has helped so will you try taking both of them together 1 of each every day and see how you feel because if it has helped me it will certainly help you
This is the video I just needed. Been dealing with Cardiophobia and anxiety for the last two months, so I’m hyper-aware of everything relating to my heart. Been to the ER 6 times in the last two months for chest pain, numbness, etc. have had countless EKGs, blood work and x-rays. All tests come back 100% normal but my GP finally gave me a cardiologist referral after bothering him for it. Been dealing with PVCs the last few days but thankfully I’ve been wearing a holter for the last 5 days. When it first happened I went running to the ER; ekg, chest X-ray, blood work came out normal. ER doctor said PVCs are normal but it’s good that I have my holter on so that my cardiologist can tell me if they’re benign or not. Have my stress test Monday and then the results of my holter the following Monday!
@@Akhil69696 just got my results - everything came out 100% normal! “Heart of a teenager” as the cardiologist said. So what I’m going through is just anxiety induced.
@@paulasusan63 portable EKG machine that a cardiologist will have you wear from 24 hours to a week. It monitors everything and looks for any abnormalities. For example, my holter picked up a few PVCs which are completely normal and benign. It’s annoying to wear.
I’ve had these palpitations exactly the way you described them for a long time now many years. Only recently within the last few months has it become very frequent and concerning. I went to see a cardiologist and they did a blood test. Turns out I was very deficient in vitamin d. 50,000 iu of d2 once a week seemed to help for only a day or two but they would return. Then I stumbled on your videos about magnesium and I started taking 225 mg of magnesium citrate once every two days. I can say with confidence that that did the trick! I am so grateful to you. Thank you for sharing. Your videos are life changing!
Sorry for my bad english. same! I was the victim of Skipped heart beat and currently on erosive duodenitis course. My vitamin d3 was severely low 5.5. then I started to take vitamin d3 60000 gel capsules, believe me my skipped beat was gone within a week. I took vitamin d for 3 weeks continuously and skipped 4 week vitamin d and in the last 4 days, my skipped beat back with a series of skipped beats. I know antacid is bad for health, especially for vitamin d and magnesium. Now I have booked a magnesium test and will update if any improvement. At last It just started after my panic attack. Heart palpitations, skips are very horrible. P.S. +my lipid test ok, ldl 126 and hld 36. +Echocardiography shows a normal report. + Dr says it is due to anxiety
Thank you so much for this very clear and concise explanation about these heartbeats. Just as you said at the beginning of the video, I have had tests and worn monitors only to be told everything is fine. It helps immensely to actually understand the mechanics of these beats. Wonderful information
Every time I am anxious I come to see your videos. I did a very high number of heart tests and saw many cardiologists with a lot of experience. Except for MRI, Electro study, and exercise test (all my doctors said were not needed), all were OK. The only big problem I had was VITAMIN D DEFICIENCY (mine was 16 while normal numbers need to be around 45-70.). My doctor put me on 4k UI D3 every day for a few months and then 2k UI a day for 5-6 months. In about 1-2 months period, my ectopic burden of PVC, PAC, doublets, and triplets (a total of 700 extra beats per 24H houlter) reduce to 8-10 beats a day, most of the days being simple beats. I was low in vitamin D because my work and life are mostly indoors for years and years....and I am not a very active guy. I am 50 years old and overweight. I used to be very active, with great muscular mass, and I used to make about 40 km per day on my bicycle and also 10-15 km per day walking. Every day for more than 20 years. Now, in the last 10-12 years I am just a couch potato...sadly! Ohh, and yes, my anxiety (I had attacks every evening) went down A LOT!
Perhaps this comment could be helpful to someone. After experiencing 10-20 ectopic beats, as explained in a video, my cardiologist recommended taking 120mg of Magnesium citrate daily. I split the dosage, taking 60mg in the morning and another 60mg in the evening. Surprisingly, this almost completely eliminated my ectopic beats. I still occasionally experience one or two, but they are rare. It's important to note that this is my personal experience and may not work for everyone. The effectiveness could depend on your medical condition and other factors. For context, I am a 29-year-old active male, weighing 71kg and in good physical shape. All the best!
I thought that our bodies didn’t absorb that particular form of magnesium? However it must because it’s helped you! I’ve also heard that Magnesium glycinate is very helpful for this as well.
I found this cardiologist after I got very scared after being diagnosed with high PVCs after vax. His videos helped calm me. This one is even more reassuring. Magnesium taurate is good. And I have just started taking 5htp (a pre curser to serotonin- do your own reading on it before taking it folks) and it has been a game changer. I don’t 100% know how- but for me calming my nervous system a bit has meant far less PVCs. Better than the beta blockers I was on!
I wish you were my Cardiologist. Just spent 5 days in the hospital. Doctor says all test were normal. Yet my Heart still feels like it’s going to blow up
Hello. I am on the hospital bed as I write, due to exactly extra-ventriculars. I've had them very debilitating for 5 years, I had scans, simulation of effort test with medication, scintigraphy (inc. CT) and today coronagraphy. Happy to confirm, I have no heart damage at all. Everyone is different, so please get checked in case it may be something else. The sad part is, we still have the troubling symptoms. Taurine is helping a lot though (self-medicated)
I too welcome you back, your explanations are so clear and reassuring. Especially on the ec 4:18 topic heart beat and the effects of beta blockers on which I have been for forty plus years. And yes, as someone has already said. You are extraordinarily good looking 😊 thank you so much
I have just discovered your videos today. It’s so wonderful the explanations you are giving to us poor “laymen” who suffer from these palpitations. I’ve been for ecg’s and worn holter monitors and have never been told I have a problem. Yet I keep having these - what I understand now to be ectopic heart beats. And I do react with fear which makes it worse! I have also developed IBS, so your words just rang so true. Thank you so much. I have subscribed and look forward to more of your videos. Now to tackle my fear and worry and get my life back!
Thankyou Dr Gupta for this video. I have been suffering ectopic heartbeats for 6 months now and have been to my local Hospital and have seen my GP all of whom say it is not dangerous but it feels as if it is. I am taking a comprehensive multi vit every day plus CoQ10 and it has lengthened the periods of normality but not stopped it yet. Despite that it is happening for 12 hours of every day. It doesn't happen at night and when I wake up it is normal but then I worry when it will start and it does. I can do the running up 5 flights of stairs in less than a minute so I know I don't have a diseased heart. The odd thing is when I do excessive exercise it beats normally while I do it. I can now relax a lot more now you have explained it all. Very many thanks.
Have you tried taking a magnesium supplement? Dr Gupta recommended this in one of his videos and I tried it. It took a few weeks but my ectopics disappeared and haven't returned. Magnesium citrate is the one I take, around 400 mg per day which is just the normal recommended dietary amount of magnesium, not a massive excess.
Your explanations are always simple to understand. Thank you for the reassurance . I benefited a lot from your "gastrocardiac syndrome"!. I was treating the symptoms instead of an underlying cause. Am only on one Beta Blocker now from a bag of medicines. There's still very little knowledge in this area both in the medical field and the general population❤
@@53Sniwt I read from his website and watched his video. He explained it in detail. You may wish to watch it. But shortly a person may get cardiac symptoms such as premature ventricular contractions, fast heart rate, short of breath, angina etc without having a any heart conditions. When you have stomach issues sometimes the vegus nerve is irritated causing the heart to have these symptoms. Once you resolve the gastro problem your heart stops giving you the cardiac symptoms

Yes. Anything that triggers bloating such as fast eating and not chewing enough and eating too much legumes dairy onions garlic broccoli cauliflower brussel sprouts can cause bloating trigger Afib or ectopic beats.
Thank you so much Dr. Gupta! This is very good information. Well explained. It helps me understand how my heart is beating. Appreciate you! God Bless you Sir! Have a wonderful day!
Thank you so much for this video. I was literally just laying here listening to and feeling my irregular heartbeat and praying to God to fix my heart for my daughters sake. I was wondering all these things and getting anxiety. It’s like you’re answering my exact questions. Thank you so much for all the detail.
Dr. Gupta, your explanations are truly remarkable! ❤ There's a saying that goes, "If you can't explain something to a 5-year-old, you're not an expert," and you certainly excel at this. You should definitely consider teaching in medical universities, if you haven't already. Thanks for your enlightening videos and the calming way you deliver them! Please promise us, You keep it up!
You are better than all the doctors I have been to for the ectopics. No one explains the way you do. I am watching from India. Been struggling with VPCs since 2023. Stress and fear makes it worse. Your video makes me cry. Feel that there is someone who understands my condition.
So reassuring to know that no damage will be to the heart. I’ve been dealing with palpitations for years and cardiologist never explain in detail until I came across your channel. Thank you for all you do it helps to know someone understands what I am going through. Now if I can get a cure for these it would help.
Did you know that a loose tooth crown or infected root of a tooth can cause PVCs? Someone went through 3 years of PVCs where their heart skipped a beat every 4-5 beats, they were in perfect health otherwise but while investigating the PVCs, they noticed during two of the Zio patches they wore for 2 weeks at a time, that the PVCs went down from 15-20% down to 0.1% over the 2 week period while on antibiotics. This was because of an infected root canal (no symptoms but seemed to be Loose crown > led to infected root canal > entire tooth removal. The entire tooth removal stopped the PVCs entirely. After some research, I saw other people in online blogs had been through the same. This should be published in a journal and doctors made aware that with especially generally healthy and younger people, the cause of PVCs could be hidden infection/inflammation. Happy to help you with this. Your channel is great, thanks for all you do.
May be true. I have had 10-20 ectopic beats per day for last 3 months and it all started with anxiety and recently when i took an antibiotic called cefixime for some skin infection for 5 days , i rarely had 1 ectopic beat per day but after stopping antibiotic, ectopic beats again started with same frequency and nowadays feeling it more... I have tooth infection too. So i am now confused whether ectopic beats are happening due to some infection or anxiety.
Finally, an answer for what I’ve been feeling! Usually happens when I’m falling asleep, or just fell asleep. I was concerned my pacemaker or even more importantly my defibrillator had gone off. This definitely eases my mind. Thanks again for all you do! 🙏👍
I am 46 and I have had ectopic beats since the age of 40. I have anxiety and panic disorder . There ectopic beats are uncomfortable sometimes. I definitely thought o had a heart condition or A fib . I have had stress test. Echocardiogram and many ECGs and it’s always fine. Even though I am reassured by my doctor and nurse friends that it’s not deadly it feels like something is wrong. Rational mind does not kick in. I do try and watch videos like this to calm my mind. Thank you for this ❤
Same as what I am going through. I had a stress test and had 1 ectopic about 12 mins and then I had a stress echo and had 4 ectopics at rest, none during. My anxiety often gets the better of me. But I swear mine are caused by gas in my stomach
I am a cyclist with 16 years of experience. I have done more than a hundred of races, and I have even won a few of them. This season, being 39 years old, I was preparing for my first race, when 3 days before the race I started having palpitations. I skipped 3 races, doing all kinds of exams. My heart was in excellent condition and I stopped noticing the missed beats... until I learned that I had 500 PAC's per day. Then I started noticing the again, and I started having panic attacks, and during these attacks I could have 10 such beats every minute - even in triplets. I was sure that if I get enough of them, I would pass out. Today I found your video, and I watched a lot more about ectopics... You have restored my faith in my own body. I just don't know if it could be caused by overtraining? I am not sure if I should resume normal training and racing... because waiting it out results in just more anxiety and more ectopics.
I bet that was a very scary experience. Sorry you went through that. But you’re definitely not alone. I’m going through it now myself. Waiting for all my test to come in and just very anxious. But this video helped. Do you have an update? Are you doing better?
We had missed you!!!! Thank you ! Grateful for what you do! You are and always will be the best Cardiologist in every possible way… ( old ICU nurses do not say things like this to doctors specially cardiologists! 😂)
Thank you so much for taking the time to make this video. Your explanation and discussion was crystal clear. I feel much better having this information.
As an old retired scientist (octogenarian) who had an infarct in my youth (65yo). I wondered what was going on. My cardiologist of 40 years said don’t worry about it, it is not life threatening. I like to understand why something is happening. It’s in my nature. THANK YOU! Since I started Dr. David Sinclair’s protocol 3 years ago my cardiovascular system has improved to the point where my cardiologist said “I’m ASTOUNDED! Your heart has healed itself!” David’s research at Harvard university is proving to be amazing. He’s on UA-cam.
You explained this feeling like NO ONE ever has. Thank you. The skipped beat feeling makes sense now. I am ecstatic that someone mentioned you today. You are exactly what I needed. Namastè. ❤🙏🙏🙏🙏❤🎉
Thank you so much for your reassurance, Dr. Gupta. You're right; I've only ever had very rushed reassurances, that don't have much detail behind them. One question I have (and I know how paranoid this sounds) is about the "Thud." This is the part, rather than the "missed" beat, that causes me the most anxiety. Sometimes I feel the back of my head getting warm afterward, and I start to worry that the sudden, higher-than-normal volume of blood from the post-ectopic beat might lead to a stroke or damage somewhere else in the body. Is there any merit to this anxiety? Many thanks again.
I am crying while listening to this guy. I am suffering for PVC for years. Looking back how I feel when I was young slowly I am learning that I have this since when I was teenager. And I never heard anxiety back then. Now that Im old I have more understanding that my anxiety is from my extreme pvc. And this video gives me comfort. Thank u❤
I've watched a lot of your content over the last couple of years. It took a long time to find the cause of my PVCs: Hyperthyroidism. I've been on methimazole now for 2.5 weeks and have had a marked reduction in them.
Your videos are so clear and reassuring, Sanjay. As a health professional who ‘knows’ the physiology, periods of erratic heart rhythm were disturbing. Early pandemic, I experienced a period of time where my heart rhythm was erratic, off and on’ (evenings/ night worse). No identifiable triggers, as I am in excellent general health. The situation has settled which your videos have certainly helped to achieve. This one really spoke to me. Put it in perspective. Thank you for your public service. Professor-Elizabeth
Thanks for always sacficing your time to help us all that are waiting between appointments, anxiety, or are told normal. After my second ablation my afib is gone but atleast 10 pac/pvcs a day. You always give me and many others hope on the worst days. Thanks doc. Much love to you ❤❤
I hope they don't but I managed to get my pvcs down from about 6500 a day to about 1000 a day from eating 1 meal a day and only water low carb and vit c, mag, vit d, tumeric sometimes only few 100 a day now still working on it to improve further tho :)
I so appreciate your videos!! I am watching right now as wear my heart monitor to evaluate my palpitations....Already had a ECHO last week. Listening to you always calms me and you make my 'skips' less anxious ..THANK YOU!!
I love this doc so knowledgeable and you can tell he cares Being a doc myself I can relate to this having tons of pvc per day still dealing with them but I know I feel better about it
I've had ectopic beats all of my life and I'm now 58 years old. Unfortunately, I got pulsatile tinnitus when I was 53 years old; possibly a result of jumping out of a plane at over 12,000 feet. That means I can hear my ectopic beats as well as feel them. That can be very disconcerting! I had various tests, etc. and my ectopics were considered benign. Two things I've found with my ectopics: * They never occur during exercise when I have higher heart rates. My resting heart rate is typically around 50-55 and I only ectopics when resting. * Going on a low carb diet appears to have significantly reduced ectopics. Might be coincidental, but that is what happened. For anyone out there that also has pulsatile tinnitus, which is an unfortunate combination to have with ectopics: * For me, when my blood pressure is *lower* my tinnitus is more obvious. At 120/80, I don't hear it much. When the tinnitus is louder I might hear ectopics more, then my blood pressure is coincidentally more likely to be 110/70. * Caffeine reduces my tinnitus a bit, but that is not a lot of caffeine. Just a cup of instant coffee. * Potassium supplementation (1.4g potassium citrate in 450ml water) reduces my pulsatile tinnitus a lot! The potassium is not enough to noticeably affect my blood pressure and yet somehow it reduces the pulsatile tinnitus. These days I rarely notice my ectopics.
I don't have ectopics BUT I do have AFib! And yes, the tinnitus in my ears let's me hear when it kicks in! A yucky weirdo feeling for sure. But since I started a very low dose beta-blocker the AFib episodes have greatly diminished to where I hardly have any at all anymore! Who Knew that's All it took to feel much better?😉#Whew!😊
What is the cause of your PT? I was diagnosed with bilateral venous sinus stenosis and IIH. I’ve had it for many years. For sure the PT makes my ectopics much much worse. 😩
@@alaskawanderings8518 I've never had a scan, but I was seen by a specialist and the diagnosis was considered benign. Not anything like an embolism, tumor, etc. The first occurrence was not long after doing a sky dive. The pressure on the way down caused me significant ear discomfort and hearing loss for a few weeks afterwards. I suspect the pressure might have damaged a blood vessel. Subsequently it became more persistent for longer periods and then became permanent. Very loud wooshing, so that i couldn't hear properly and then also had a bad episode of eptopics. Maybe give potassium citrate a go? My full dose is 1.4g twice a day in water and the result is miraculous. Less is not enough and more doesn't give additional improvement. The effects last for over 24 hours, but I once missed a weekend and was badly wooshing again by the Monday. Before anyone talks about potassium rich foods, potassium from foods did not work in the slightest. Only a supplement ever worked.
I started watching your channel back in 2018, I started having some pretty bad ectopic heartbeats, it was brought on by stress after a friend had passed away. It got to the point to where it would happen, and then it would be continual the more I stressed about it. I went to the doctor, got an EKG and even wore a 24 hr heart monitor. The doctor basically confirmed that that they were a ectopic heartbeats just like your video said. Stopping to drink caffeine or at mostly coffee for about a month really helped. They come and go every couple years or so and I’ll get them for about a week or 2
Thank you so much for this it is reassuring. I won't go into my heart's history, but I'd be interested to know if several ectopics one after the other are equally harmless. Sometimes my heart might have two or three in a row and it is a funny feeling! Thank you again
Unless you have thousands (Say, something like 20 thousands) ectopics a day, they're usually not considered more than annoying or discomfortable. Frequent runs of ectopics may be frightening, and they can be a sign of a heart close to get atrial fibrillation. As long as most of the beats are "normal beats", there's likely very little to worry about.
I have pvcs every few beats, everyday. It’s been almost 10 years and I’m exhausted. I’m currently in therapy to help with my panic attacks. I drink calm tea with magnesium and it does help. Eating is the worst! I just want them to go away but for me I believe my panic disorder is the culprit.
I just watched this and OMG this has really calmed my anxiety down. The way you explain it makes perfect sense and now i understand what is really happening. I have been getting these ecotopic beats for about the last 2-3 weeks now. I of course freaked out. I admit it i did. It’s hard not to. So i went to my doctor, had an EKG (all normal) she listen to my heart through my chest and back and said my heart sounds strong. Then i left relaxed but started feeling them more and more so i went back and she listen again and all normal. So we did blood work and all was great with blood work and my blood pressure on Avg Is 114/64. But i still get these ecotopic beats. It’s like when do they ho away? They came out of know where it seemed like. I don’t drink, smoke i never drink coffee or energy drinks. I am 5’10” tall and weigh 180. (170 is where i like to be so i am 10 pounds over weight). But it is stress and anxiety i have been told and read that is probably the cause of this. So i was told they won’t go away until you get that stress and anxiety out of your mind! But that being said when you have them you start to over think (omg i just had one right now typing this) but you & me have to just keep living and not freak out over them. I know easier said then done. But if we don’t stop freaking out over them we will never get rid of them!!!! So when you get them, take a deep breath, relax and don’t dwell on them. (Unless of course you have other series symptoms that come with them I was told like an elephant sitting on your chest pain, radiating down both your arms, extreme dizziness, fainting those things then you need to seek medical attention). But just mild traveling chest pains, the occasional numbness on your fingertips it all anxiety! Believe me I know I’ve been through this and I’m going through this right now. But watching this video has helped me to understand what is actually happening. we hope they go away soon, but we must realize and try to figure out the triggers of these things especially if you’ve been checked out like I have the stress and anxiety. I started questioning myself well I had stress and anxiety a couple years ago, but I didn’t have skipped heartbeats but now I am, but I was told stress and anxiety manifest itself in totally different ways especially when you get older.! so take a deep breath my friends watch this video over and over again. If anybody has any advice for myself or others, please respond to this. or if you have any other things that help you get these irregular beats I would love to hear them thank you so much
At least yo ur ekg was normal my heart symtoms landed me in the ER got multiple abnosmtl ekgs had to stay overnight to be monitored and be put on a beta blocker to slow hr now I’m on a 2 week holter till I see cardio on the 28 th and I am bed bound. I am terrifed and want to feel normal again
I am a 54yr ICU nurse and I've had palpitations since menopause at 50 and went to see a cardiologist 6 yrs ago with full cardiac tests...ECHO, stress test, Holter and CTCA which were all normal. Recently the palpitations are more frequent and prolonged. I was at work the other day when it happened again so, I put cardiac monitor on myself to see what's going on and I was having PVCs every 3rd and 4th beat. I immediately took Magnesium tablets and stopped drinking coffee and tea. So far the palpitations have not returned and I feel much calmer.
Once again….thank you for your calming way of explaining to us that we’re all gonna be just fine and the knowledge you give us to back it up. Ectopics are so unsettling and can diminish the quality of life if allowed. Years ago you helped me through a video and I will continue to refer people to you in hopes they will receive the same reassurance you gave me. ❤️
Dr. Gupta, thank you so much for your sincere and well though out explanations of these phenomenons. Your attitude, demeanor, and patience are greatly appreciated. More than you could ever know (: You are truly a remarkable person and from the bottom of our hearts, we thank you ❤
What we need to question is why is this effecting so many young people who never had heart issues before... and why are there the extra beats... rather than accepting, why isn't there more knowledge around finding the cause and setting that right?
I could just cry, your videos make me emotional, because I feel less alone. I feel validated. Thank you for taking the time to make these videos for those of us that really suffer from horrible anxiety due to these ectopic heart beats. I pray that you are blessed beyond measure!

Hi,I am from India
I am 23 yr old
I also have ectopic heartbeat from past one year.
You said you have pvc for past 45 yr
In the beginning means in twenties are you aware of these ectopics
And what's the frequency you feel in your twenties.
I feel 2-3 ectopics a day sometimes alternate days and sometimes it disappear for a months.
And how you deal with this pvcs for past 45 yrs
I am worry that at later part of my life ectopics develops into afib.

Me too. mine can last for several hours at a time and are sometimes close together.
I feel like, for once, that I am not alone..
"sit most of the day frozen in fear" Like I did....
Dr. Gupta, I’ve learned more about ectopic heartbeats and gained more re-assurance from you than I have from any other doctor. God bless you!

no man, thank YOU so much for taking the time to explain these things to us that drive us insane

True - an infected Gum can cause poision in the blood, and can cause hert issues
Yes right.. Tooth infection can cause this.., how did you detect tooth infection

We need more doctors like you 👍
Thank you so much for YOUR time!
Thank You since 2020 I have had these rapid beats with thuds and drove my cardiologist crazy this video makes me feel a lot better.
Well hello Dr. Gupta! Missed you! You still look so young! You are blessed!
I’ve read a lot over the years about PVC’s but your description of what they are and why they feel like missed bests is just fantastic! Thankyou!
God bless you. You are such a comfort to those of us who suffer with ectopic beats.
I am literally crying right now!! Your delivery of this information was phenomenal. ❤
Thank u❤
During the time you had PVC, did you take beta blockers and the like ?
Your answer will help me 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻
This man is a gift to the world....Thank you for your gentle way of explaining things.
Best heart doctor ever...
Thank you for this reassurance, this makes me feel much better.
Thank you so much for being so empathetic and reassuring. They make a huge difference to someone recovering from heart issues.
You are an absolute legend. Thank you once again. Your original Ectopic video gave me so much relief. Couldn’t help watching this later version.
I love this doc so knowledgeable and you can tell he cares
Being a doc myself I can relate to this having tons of pvc per day still dealing with them but I know I feel better about it
I've had ectopic beats all of my life and I'm now 58 years old.
Two things I've found with my ectopics:
* They never occur during exercise when I have higher heart rates. My resting heart rate is typically around 50-55 and I only ectopics when resting.
* Going on a low carb diet appears to have significantly reduced ectopics. Might be coincidental, but that is what happened.
For anyone out there that also has pulsatile tinnitus, which is an unfortunate combination to have with ectopics:
* For me, when my blood pressure is *lower* my tinnitus is more obvious.
Don't we wish we could meet this wonderful man in person to thank him for all he 😊 has given to his followers. Selfless becomes him.❤❤❤❤❤❤❤😊
You’re saving my life with this stuff.
Thank you. I’m a physician (pediatrician) in US who suffers with ectopic beats and this is so helpful, as are your other videos
Aren't you frustrated as a medical doctor that nobody is finding the root cause to this damn issue?
Do you know your burden and do you take any medication?
Thank you Dr. Gupta for a wonderful, clear explanation and most of all the reassurance.
Your explanations are priceless Dr. Sanjay. You are such a great asset in our unpredictable world. Thank you for your time.
Dr. Gupta, thank you so much for your sincere and well though out explanations of these phenomenons. Your attitude, demeanor, and patience are greatly appreciated. More than you could ever know (:
You are truly a remarkable person and from the bottom of our hearts, we thank you ❤
What we need to question is why is this effecting so many young people who never had heart issues before... and why are there the extra beats... rather than accepting, why isn't there more knowledge around finding the cause and setting that right?
AMEN!!! gets on my damn nerves.
Respect and love for my favourite Doctor ❤❤
Thanks doc. Keep the videos coming
Thankyou for this excellent, reassuring video. You hit the nail on the head with your words at the end!
