My cardiologist gave me the best tips that i want to share, because it helped me loads: Enough sleep, reduce caffeine, and eat 1 banana a day. Bananas are high in potassium, apparently super important for your heart. I have managed to reduce 50% of my PVC's.
Me! like added heartbeat.. but usually for 10-20 minutes.. then i go back to sleep again.. is it still normal? i also a feel a bit pressure on my chest when it happen
The analogy that works for me is the atrium is the little hammer a doctor uses to test your knee reflexes, and the ventricles are the knee. The p wave is the hammer hitting the knee, and the QRS complex beat in the ventricies are the knee jerking. Then there is a short period of relaxation called a t wave. When you get an extra heart beat, the T wave and the next P wave are often so close together that they overlap in an ECG and you just see QRS, a single bump of a combined t/p wave and another QRS.
My cardiologist says I should not worry about my ectopic beats. I have both PAC and PVC. Between 5k-10k a day. He said that in people my age, 30, with a structual normal healthy heart tend to have unadressed stress that triggers the heart. I am not sure about others, but I have zero ectopic beats when I sleep, so as soon as my head turns off, my ectopics disapear. Maybe its all stress/anxiety. My quality of life is not existent. I hate this.
I am having ectopic whenever i rest or while exercising, also when i feel ectopic beats, i feel so nervous that thinking i gonna die, collapse, or thinking that my heart will stop, also my heart is around 80 to 108 beats per minute when the ectopic occur, but sometimes i feel rapid beats whenever i feel nervous. I feel dizziness when i feel nervous because of ectopic beats, but i don't feel any chest pain like squeezing or something when ectopic beats occur, i just feel my chest and throat is tight and uncomfortable and hard to breath, and if ectopic beats suddenly occur again, i feel so nervous that i fear to loss control, and I don't know why i keep being nervous whenever i think that if my heart is unhealthy. Whenever i check my heart rate, i suddenly feeling nervous, numbness, and lightheadedness in my body when my heart beat is fast thinking that it caused by tachycardia, especially when i thinking about cardiac arrest, its kinda scared me a lot and my symptoms improved😐
Sorry to hear you guys are also experiencing this. I’m currently experiencing palpitations as I’m writing this. I do have Psvt but these palpitations feel different some how. If I breathe too hard or make sudden movements my heart feels like it skips a beat or pounds faster. It’s a scary feeling. Giving me lots of anxiety to the point where idk if I’m still feeling the palpitations because of my condition or because I’m anxious.
i have had the same problem, go and see a cardiologist. They will put a halter monitor on you for a day to confirm its nothing sinister. Most etopics are harmless, but anxiety is a major problem. I no longer think I'm going to have a heart attack, but I'm still struggling with dizziness which is adding stress, and keeping the etopics going. It's a vicious circle.
I’ve been having them for nearly 2 years every day nearly all day, I think I put mine down to anxiety from the covid and the lockdowns, it really affected me in that I felt I wasn’t in control of my life anymore, it’s hard now to break the viscous cycle, the more palpitations I get the worse my anxiety gets, reading other peoples stories help, and Dr Sanjay Gupta has some excellent videos on UA-cam, hope you all feel better soon, it’s a horrible thing to have 🙏🙏xx

Seems like they are more frequent now than before. Magnesium doesnt help at all. I honestly think its coming from the brain. Could certain brain diseases cause these?

However I will be seeing a cardiologist next month for the missing heartbeats. Great video, very informative.

My ectopic episodes which I have had for many years as well as AF and previously WPW Syndrome ( now cured post ablation ) used to be relatively unpredictable but now present when heart is under load and disappear on rest . Sinister ?
I had an ablation last year for wpw with svt. I'm cured from that but prior to that I had pvcs and pacs daily. Very minimal but I would have 15 of those per day. Dr. And I discussed that potentially that prior to surgery those EFTA's beats might be caused by the wpw extra pathway that shortcuts between atria and ventricles. That was an assumption. Got the ablation, successful and did not have the pvcs. After about 9 months it came back but not as much and it always occurs when my heart is under load such as first 15 minutes of exercising but does not occur during exercise. I took someone to self diagnose and realized that my heart was overworked because I am 35lbs overweight. I lost the weight since and my "skipped beats" usually occur only once or twice a week. Doctor says this is normal. Happens to everyone but everyone is different but being overweight does out stress on the heart and is possible your heart is just trying to pump blood but not effectively. Had to Compensate and exercise so my heart is stronger and it works better. Human body is weird...
I’m the same age as you. Have been experiencing skipped heart beat for about 1 week and a pounding heartbeat straight after. Went into hospital about 2 days ago because it happened at night and freaked me out think I had a panic attack. I’m quite fit go to the gym and eat healthy. Doctor put me on an ECG and found that I have an extra beat sometimes. Said to me my beats per min is really good and blood pressure is great. Said if it causes any pain or occurs repeatedly in a short amount of time then to see GP and or Cardiologist. Your symptoms are same as mine feel it in my mouth/back of throat and literally 1 beat every now and again is a palpitation feeling. I’m going to see my GP. You should do the same I think.
