I could see Rob making mental notes "oh I like this, maybe I'll try it on one of my cars" with the suspension lol.
Wouldn't you?!
@@Scottydoing Haha exactly. Thats why he asked, and whats under here?
@@Scottydoing?
Well he is the man who called manufacturers pretending to be an employee of Hoonigan for the geometry of Hoonicorn parts to build them himself 😂
This just shows that Rob is taking Pikes Peak VERY Dahm serious! Those Radicals are so much fun! Radical held the record of the fastest "road legal" car on the Nurburgring for 10 years and also had the only 2 cars to do it under 7 minutes, they know their stuff! 😎
An outro with a teaser for the next episode?!?! Am I at the right channel?
You know you're in for a ride when Rob makes a proper outro teasing the next episode...
Super excited for Pikes Peak and it’s been great seeing your development as both a builder and a driver. Keep it up!
Rob *finally* getting that formal training he should have gotten years ago. Good to see.
When rob uploads, you drop everything else
every. single. time. 😁
I been sleeping on his videos since the three rotor was running again 😂😂
Facts
I'm at work in a shop and got his video on my monitor while listening to this on Bluetooth earbuds. You bet your *** im learning racecar tech on the job
Facts
good luck Rob, I just got my SCCA novice license for road racing, it's such a blast man. Can't wait to knock out the race weekends and get that full comp! :)
Welcome to the club brother 🤘🏻 now we need to race 👏🏻
Rob if you dont know Misha Charoudin, you should look up his new company Vulcan Alpha. Awesome dude diving deep into fabrication and driving on the Nurburgring.
That collab would be hella unexpected but super cool.
Yeah, would be a great collab
We are stopping EVERYTHING to get 8 more projects started.
Rob inspired me to race my RX8, and he consistently delivers helpful information to help me further my own racecraft
ROB. Have you ever thought about paring an electric integrated motor assist system with a rotary engine?
Your video posted at the right time after a long week.. keep them going rob
Yesssss this is awesome! That Nik-link anti-roll bar was a very cool design, love to see new solutions for old problems.
Patrick seemed knowledgeable as hell, hope we see him some more if there are follow up episodes!
Super cool vid, I do maintenance and tuning on a customers sr1 and I was at amp twice last week dialing the car in with Tyler. I’m sure it was a great time!
Entertaining and educational. And car stuff! Love it!
I always love Radical & appreciate you actually make video to showcase them!
Same dude it was nice hearing a good deep dive into how they work and are built
Radicals are the Swiss Army Knife of race cars when it comes to set ups. You can hill climb, time attack, club race, endurance race etc with them.
Awesome stuff Rob. Looking forward to your next video
3 months ago "We are stopping EVERYTHING to get the 12 Rotor running ASAP" sooooo that was a lie?
Yes it was
The nick-link works via bending stress, not axial stress (compression/tension) like he claimed. Essentially it's trying to bend that kink further or trying to straighten it out.
Love this man’s vids can get enough
You really ought to hit up matt at fastlane. Alot closer to home and you can get way more seat time in.
Now in my head I’m imagining would a standard hayabusa turbo kit fit on one of those engines without too much modification, that sounds equally as fun as it does bad.
Awesome video! 😁👊
My dream and goal is to buy a Radical. Don't keep us waiting too long before you release the next video.
You and me both mate. I'd be happy with boring daily drives and a Radical.
It's a SCCA DSR. We ran a Fox chassis back in the 90's. Wild racing. Even one of the Foster Brothers from Foster Farms did too.
Great content Rob. You're one of my favorite to watch.
Can't wait to see him drive these cars!
Well, Rob you got me downloading the Radical SR3 on Assetto Corsa now! I'll have to get some practice in.
Great stuff!!
Didn't mention the daddy RXC in the corner.
Cool interview!
Yeah the dude's super knowledgeable
Some thick rubber turf in-between the press and floor with polyurethane bushings that compress ontop of the press feet with bolts or nuts/studs going into the concrete would work good i think.
Glad to see you going to a professional school vs taking the Formula Mazda to a local SCCA school. While SCCA schools are fine you can get so much more from a pro school using their cars. Cool stuff!
It's funny you mention the sway bars on the 4 rotor haha, i remember talking to you about that at gridlife colorado in 2022! I still have been wondering this whole time whether you had plans to add then
I feel like Rob just realized how ba motorcycle engines are... 600cc 4cyl can see 14k easy. A 5000 dollar sport bike with only a few modifications and you have the weight to hp ratio of an Enzo Ferrari.
Wow Rob took the time to make a proper outro? Highly unusual, must be a good video coming up
been playing Assetto Corsa since 2013 release ^_^
From racing the highways around Tokyo with Traffic to Drifting a local drift track. best sim until AC 2 is release imo.
I plan to get my scca license some day watching this makes me jelly but its a good learning experience
Great interviewee, that guy knew his stuff.
Do they make a version with the twin hayabusa v8s?
Letra goooooo!!!! If you're not first your last
Never thought id see my favorite 2 favorite cars on this channel
Watch Rob try to fit the 12 rotor in one of those in the future XD
Interesting he says that it's close to 50 50 weight distribution, as you don't actually want that in a mid engined rear wheel drive car. more like 40 60 or 45 55 depending on tyre size.
You have so many projects going on now 😂, when are we going to see more about the indycar and the 12rotor? What about finishing the 4 rotor?
What happened to the 12-rotor, and Herts 4-rotor?
STOKED FOR THIS!!! LFGOOO!!!
Not the typical Dahm outro 😂
A rotary swapped Radical would basically be the revival of the Kudzu GTP Lights.
Atlanta motorsports park huh? Sounds familiar... I wonder if DIWD was messing around that day aswell!?
Looks like you upgraded your race suit, noice
That ending thouu! Haha😂
Interesting that Rilltech had problems with dry sumps and still used a wet sump setup.
For the 4 rotors rollbar, a company makes dampers that stiffen when it sees G so you can get away whitout one
Is that a stand-alone in damper setup or does it need additional components?
@@rod.h8064Stand-alone in damper head, no electronics, no rollbar
The annual video! 🙏
Rob: Todays episode brought to you by Rocket Money
Me: Did he say Rocket Bunny? Whats coming for the rx7s that he hasnt teased yet?
Sponsor slot 1 minute in: Yeah nah not rocket bunny you fool
Me: Damn, that would have been cooler though.
You would though.
If you owned more than one.
A well done NA 13B would be great in these things!
Would be curious to know what a Star Mazda car would do vs the Radical on the same track
you just know rob is doing that system on the 3-rotor
Let’s see the 4 rotor with hert!!!
Why do we say “half a dozen”? 😂 6. Just say 6
It’s crazy how similar the sr1 chassis it to a pr6
Does Radical offer a flex fuel e85 option?
What's happening with the 12 rotor broski???
nice
8:56 It's hard to figure out how it works, but I seem to get it.
UGH, my favorite Tuber is here, where I live, and missed it, UH
Well it is about time you got in a race car on a track.. A race car that is not in some form of experimental development -interesting as you losing your mind on that rotary art...
Firat good luck to your comp license im still on a simulator
Radical produces a hayabusa V8 also
I guess we'll see episode 2 in a couple weeks 😅
I hope you are doing ok man your eyes look stressed make sure you are getting enough water food to eat and rest please I hope you are taking care of yourself.
Radical have the V8 hayabusa engine right?
The SR8, love racing that car in iracing
Put the 12 rotor in the SR1!
That 12 rotor weighs about as much as an entire Radical :P
Power to weight ratio would be unreal even if you had to build the car around the engine
The british make the best track cars. Nobody else even comes close
I clicked so fast! 😅
💯💪🏽💯
Bad ass !!
i really hope dahm saw DIWD's video on the radicals lmao
I thought he said "Rocket bunny" and expected a free widebody for the FD
ECOBOOST 4 cyl????? What the ford focus ST is going on😎
I'm getting 800hp in my speed3 to the wheels at 40psi. Just a 2.3L 4 banger.😂
Wow, a preview instead of an abrupt end to the video. What happened?
Dwight: "Question. Does it still go 200mph?"
When Rob mentioned they would have made the splitter support tubing out of inch and half is pretty cool. I don't think he realizes how much of his car is overbuilt. To get the most out of his car he would need to trim a lot of fat. For example the Rod Ends on the control arms, I think he addressed this in a video but he fixed the wrong the thing. I don't know how much those control arms weigh, but I know it's more than they need to.
I'm saying this as a fan BTW, I'm just trying to provide productive criticism so the 4 rotor can be as good as it can.
Rob if you read this, I can elaborate on the improvements I think you could make to the control arms, I don't want to type all that out if he don't see it lol
The one you buy needs a Busa based V8!
Rob accidentally made a coherent outro
Oh man.... you were 15 minutes away.
What happened to 12 rotor
On the shelf while they try and get the 3 rotor ready for pikes peak
@@maaduece5132 man I wanted to see it run since rotary can run hotter then piston engine ✈️🛫 thanks for the update God bless
@user-kw7zb8qw1u I'm sure they'll get to it eventually but I'd say it's dropped a few spots on the priority list
@@maaduece5132 if to heavy shit make it 10
Robs had a haircut, $hits getting serious!
i need next episode
Rob had a hair transplant 👍👌
No cliffhanger? Slacking
At first I thought you said sponsored by Rocket Bunny. Rocket Money is way less cool 😆
I think its disingenuous to call a car a "raw racing car" because it has no "nannies"
There are plenty of cars ive driven with or without nannies like say, ABS and it didnt make the car feel any more or less "raw". One lets you stomp on the brake, the other makes you modulate it more.
Id argue and say the ones with ABS actually let you drive even harder, which makes the driving feel more raw.
But i digress, Radicals are amazing entry level race cars.
0:00 Anytime a content creator correctly discloses sponsors at the start of the video, wins my like immediately. Thanks Rob
Rotary motors in the 80s got killed by road racing because they are too loud. Or am I remembering this wrong?
Ayyyyy first like goes to me
This guy wants to race up Pikes Peak, he can't even do a full lap of Lime Rock without missing a gear shift.
....which is exactly why he is out here racing these Radical cars, to become a better driver in preparation for Pikes Peak.
