RUSH SR Test Drive| The $40000 GT 4 Killer

- A couple of weeks ago I had the opportunity to drive the Rush SR around the Mexico City Formula 1 track and I was seriously impressed with the performance and the fun that the little car provided.
At a price tag of only $40,000 the Rush SR comes with a very impressive spec sheet.
0-60 mph - 3.3 seconds
154 mph top speed
145 HP on the wheels
935 lbs dry weight
The car is designed to provide a high performance race car that is affordable to buy and most importantly affordable to maintain. The Rush SR produces a power-to-weight ratio of 375 Hp/MT which is similar to a GT 3 Cup car. With almost 400 pounds of downforce produced by the SR's rear spoiler and diffuser it is a really fun race car to get around the track.
If you are looking for an affordable race car that is reliable and a ton of fun you don't have to look much further than the Rush. More and more racing series in the US and now in Mexico are offering a great place to compete in these cars and gain experience on a budget that won't break the bank.
I saw these in action for the first time at Buttonwillow raceway this weekend and I'm impressed! I'll be a maniac in this.
The factory is in Houston Texas , got to speak to the owners , builders , engineers and the test drivers . It is a very well built vehicle that is safe and dominates on the track for a reasonable price .
Can you comment some on the driving dynamics? Comparisons to other cars? Atom, F# cars? Elige, street cars, GT3 911 etc? Braking, rotation, anything to give insight on how it feels?
Hey a new subscriber here! If it is possible can you share more info about how expensive it is to run a complete championship?
That car is so cute
Its also good for small tracks
Is the chassis capable of a larger powerplant?
Few Questions:
1. Is this track open for tracks days from November-April?
2. is the Rush SR available for sale in Mexico?
3. Are radicals for sale in Mexico?
3. Not sure if you know this however, do you know if the race track in Queretaro is a good one?
I'm a mexican resident but would like to do some track days when i'm in mexico throughout the winter.
AHR is open for track days. There are different clubs that organize events there. The car is available in Mexico and they have a great program going. They are in the process of launching a new race series for the Rush cars. If you send me an email I'd be happy to connect you with them. dan@dansedlak.com. As for the radicals, I've only seen one or two at the track. Not sure if anyone sells and services them down there. Queretaro is fun. It's a lot smaller than AHR but also a lot easier to get on for a track day or a test. Puebla has track days as well. The cheapest place to go and get some laps in would be in Pachuca. Small track but great for a day of seat time.
@@dansedlak we're in queretaro so Puebla is quite far but might look at doing that track once a year or something. Sent you an email
All it needs is a turbo
Hello. Can we use your video for a video about the rush mx series? Our channel it's about mexican motorsport, that's why we are interested.
This is the only video we can found of this car at the Autodromo Hermanos Rodriguez
Please email me dan@dansedlak.com
My dream is to own one of these that’s ninja h2 engine equipped in a manual transmission that’s awd that’s rain protected and especially road legal world wide! Not only this would sell if it was $60k Canadian but it would dominate the roads in these specs!
Build it then
@@collinthompson2848 if only I had the money lol
Have you seen one in person? Youre simply not fitting AWD lol
@@eddieyakin5528 if RC cars can have everything a actual truck can, yes you can fit awd into anything. A damn Audi tt rs had awd. That car is super small.
քʀօʍօֆʍ 🤘
Not really unique, though, Formula Predator, Westfield SRX, Radical SR1...
Significantly cheaper and has lower maintained costs in mind
Not faster than the Atom I bet
Around the track it probably is. Atoms don't have much downforce at all. I have a Radical SR3XX which is similar to the Rush SR1 and it annihilates any Atom in our club's race series.
Not sure, I own a rush and I haven't really seen any atoms at track days yet. A rush is like half the price of an atom though so I would hope an atom is faster lol
Atom has a 3.0 engine… 😅
@@uspnightfire115 nine lives racing makes some mean wings and splitters for the Atom. Makes it a whole different animal.
Yeah it kills GT4, for about 20 minutes before that bike engine blows up
Sure, because bikes are notorious for blowing up after 20 minutes, right? Sounds more like you may have spent way more on something and now you’re upset that some dude in his $40k rocket blows the doors and wheels off of yours 😅😂
I have only a single data point thus far - I met someone at a track (Texas) last weekend who said he’s tracked his monthly for almost 2 years now no issues.
