I have a batch of this on the stove as I type this. This is my second time making this recipe. The first time blew me away and I did not have the amchar masala or geera. This time I do thanks to Amazon. I just tasted the broth simmering in the pan and OMG it's even better than the first time I made it. Thank you Chris! You have made this lover of hot and spicy very happy with this recipe. And folks, it's important to follow his TECHNIQUE. This guy knows his stuff. I will be trying all his recipes. *I just went to order his book and damn, sold out until further notice.
They say give honour where honour is due. I bow for u man. I have tried curry goat recipe from different videos online before and it leaves my house smelling of curry which is not very pleasant, and it just tastes of curry. I watched this video a while ago but never gave it a try. I have just tried your way and I am speechless. For one, my house smells incredible. The curry goat is sooooooo tasty and full of flavour. I am actually going to take some in to work this evening to share with my colleagues cos I am not embarrassed of the look, smell or taste. Thank you so much for sharing.
Hello Chris, this is a great curry goat recipe as you can see from the many comments. Don't let prideful arrogant people discourage you. Keep on cooking and blessing the world. Jesus is Lord.
This recipe is the best!! hands down. Great presentation and exceptional directions to follow My husband and I made this and it was just awesome Thanks. You are the best.
Thank you for this delicious recipe. I have it cooking right now. The only difference I have made is I placed it in my crock pot after I let it simmer. I added peeled potatoes and carrots to the crock pot. Mmmmm. My kitchen is smelling great. My husband is loving this. Thank you, again.
YUMMM!!!! I can not wait to make this.....I do a lot of curry in my kitchen and I just love love goat since I am a little girl... I gotta find me a place to buy me some goat!! :) Thank you for the wonderful demo...!! Blessings...
Oh boy what a fantastic recipe!! I've made curry goat a few times and there was always something lacking in the flavour, but just by watching this video I just know it's going to be fantastic!
thx for the tip.. I'll try my best to do so.When I'm doing a recipe I have a lot going on since I do so alone. video, pictures for the posting on the website and making sure I pay attention to the cooking process. Multi tasking at it's best!
you will not be disappointed. it was fucking trancendent. and that is not a word I use too often. I added carrots and red potatoes and served it over noodles but I'm trying it again with purple potatoes and butternut squash.
I love the way you explain it, it is just like a one to one tutorial where all my questions are answered. You are very good at knowing what people need to know, that is a talented teacher. Well done! Which island are you from from?
Great vid! I love making curry goat, it's such a simple dish. I always add all the marinade in to the pot. I am well impressed. I never manage to video as I go along. You are fab. I'm a total fan now:)
I haven't done goat yet. (only bbq'd or canned). but i like to use finely shredded cabbage in my curry instead of potatoes with pork or poultry. I learned that in uganda, and it's nice, real nice.
Ok so made my curry goat according to this guide but just made a biggar quantity and let me tell u this is the recipe you want to follow. Curry goat as iv had at the carnival here in london rough and tough roots rock recipe. I cooked it for 2 and a half hours but meat was not quite tender so I chucked in some grated ginger and in 20 minutes my meat was soft enough to break against the pot. I love this one this is my future reference and no other ever. Rice an peas link for perfect side. Raspex
My GOD this was good!!! Don't get me wrong, I LOVE my Betapac Jamaican style curry powder but good lord this whole Madras style with Amchar Masala and Geera is AMAZING! I had to drive an hour away to get those ingredients but it was well worth the drive. I'd like to ask you how do I ensure I get good cuts of goat? The last few times I got some "chivo" from the latin store and it was tough after 2.5 hours of low and slow cooking.
don't let it burn. just toast it. if it burns it will taste burnt. its just to heat up the essential oils in the curry slightly before adding the meat and other stuff
Hey Chris, when you buy your goat from the butchers do you clean it before you cook it or??? I dont know im just asking because I know Carribean people especially are very clean when it comes to cooking their meat, so i need to know if i should clean my meat and if so how?
I've noticed thru ur video u mention the decrease am out of salt & oil use, I def agree. Have u tried cooking with fine/course sea salt & as for oil light/extra virgin oil, me personally use raw coconut oil. Also in regards to the lingering smell try whole cinnamon baked in the oven or simmer low in a pot of water & most of all close all bedroom doors. Wonderful overall to watch & learn
MMMM thank you! looked awesome! i want to make curry goat. i haven't had much in my life but have Trinidadian heritage. Any more help or advice in making it please let me know. mmmmm
I have been using Chris' recipe for at least 8 years now. This exact recipe. With his green seasoning. :) Its perfection.
