1:00 - The NES conversion of Punch-Out!!! had Mr. Sandman at his most unpredictable behavior--I could never survive the first 50 seconds without blocking those rolling jabs. :(
The rolling jabs are actually fairly easy to dodge. He takes three steps before throwing the punch. Except for the 6th and 11th punches, which are always six steps instead of three. Dreamland Express is tough. He always does it at a minute thirty in the first round. When he puts his gloves together, that's your cue to dodge. In round 2, he'll always do Dreamland Express after being knocked down, and occasionally around a minute fifteen.
Little Mac being the underdog and such is basically made to win, but the real question is, how much of a fight the has-been Mac could put up? He is obviously no string chicken, both Little Mac and Mac have experience in taking down bigger opponents, but Little Mac's expertise is a bit multiplied by his stature. I just don't think Mac would be ready to face such a small man after having most of his expertise in taking down larger and less technical opponents, since Little Mac is the definition of technical.
@@iczev I think Mac would hurt much like Mr. Sandman and dodge a little like Little Mac, so he'd make to the end rounds, probably past Mr. Sandman, but the exhaustion from all the technical fighting will cause him to be an easy target for a finishing blow.
The best way to beat tittle defense sandman is to dodge all his uppercuts on the second down then when he’s tired punch him until you get 3 stars then use it
It looks like it's a long signal, but it really isn't. You have time to react and maybe dodge at best if you don't know when he does that move. Second, you don't have time to react with what eye he's blinking. So ya just guess for the first one. Third, the timing. Kinda precise, you have to punch him a little after he does his wink. A bit too late and you immediately have a fist in your face. Really, when you fight him for the first time, your best bet is to just punch randomly and hope he blocks it. That gives you enough time to comprehend what side he blinked on to dodge. Really, it seems to be longer than it is.
