This is the perfect course for people that have let themselves go. I started this challenge on 8/1/2020. Had to do day 1 for a week before moving on to day 2. I will likely do day 2 for a week also. I am very weak and tight from sitting at a desk for the last 3+ years and not doing any exercise. If it takes 30 weeks instead of 30 days, so be it. A journey starts with one step. I’ve spent the last 18 months suffering from COVID, followed by a very badly broken ankle and toes, then a heart attack, very bad gash to my leg that took 3 months to heal and, finally, surgery for a parathyroid tumour, just last week. I’ve been practising yoga on and off for years but am now as stiff as a board from inactivity. This 30 day course is, I can tell in just Day 2, going to bring me back into the yoga fold and confident enough, by the end of it, to rejoin my yoga classes in person. Thank you and namaste. 🙏🏻
Lesley, I just want to say thank you so much for doing these free classes, and for creating a series for beginners. I am not a beginner, but it's been so long since I practiced and I've gained so much weight in the meantime, that I might as well be! I used to take Hatha classes 3X a week in Philly, and then I got divorced and had to move to Texas, and there are no classes within an hour of me. I missed it so much. Yoga has always been the only form of exercise that didn't feel like punishment and it was really hard for me to self-motivate with DVDs of the same session over and over again. Plus the sessions were too long and too difficult after being out of the loop for so long, which depressed me and made me want to walk away from it altogether. Anyway, thank you so much for these shorter videos with the very basics, and for making them available for free. I'm out of work at the moment so there's no way I can afford classes. You have no idea how much this helps me. I will be following along for all 30 days and hopefully you will do a Next-Level series after that! Thank you thank you thank you!

I know that these videos are quite old now from previous comments, but I feel the EXACT same way as others. This is a GREAT introduction to yoga, nice and slow, but amazing! I feel so much more calm after I do it and I notice that it sets up the rest of my day so nicely. I am currently a teacher navigating the "new normal" of distance learning during the COV-19 pandemic. I started this challenge yesterday in order to reconnect with my practice after a long break at a high stress job where I spent a lot of time sitting, whether it be at a desk or in my car. It's been years since I've done yoga and I've really been trying to get back into it lately. This is the first series that has me feeling relaxed and confident by the end instead of stressed about keeping up with a ton of poses. I'm looking forward to the rest of the 30 day challenge!
I want to thank you for making these videos. I have been wanting to try yoga for several years now. I can't afford classes and I don't know anyone who does yoga. I have looked for videos for beginners, but when I tried them I physically could not follow. I really love that you are doing very basic yoga that I can follow. Also, I really like that you explain the modified poses for those of us who are just starting. It has been very helpful for me. It's has been more realistic for me to commit to daily practice because your videos are only 15 minutes. Learning yoga is so important to me now because I have been struggling with cronic illness over the past year that has totally changed my life. Sometimes I struggle with basic daily tasks. so it's nice that I can learn yoga in my pj's on those days. I'm hoping that I can start to get my quality of life back through practicing yoga.
I just wanted to thank you for these videos. It took such a long time to find a yoga tutorial that actually meant beginner when it said beginner. I am obese and unfit, so I am taking 30 weeks instead of 30 days to do these lessons, repeating one lesson every day for a week and then moving on. I’m on the last day of week 2 and just managed my to hold a successful downward facing dog as long as you did. It’s a small a achievement but it means so much to me. I love that I can recall these stretches by memory. Today, we did our basics from Day 1 and added 2 new moves. I like to follow along in the morning. Before bed, I do the moves with lots of pauses, so I can feel my way through moves. I can mimic doing it, but feeling what’s happening is kinda the point, right?! I’m so proud of US, everyone, for showing up on Day 2. May our spines elongate and our minds expand. Namaste

I wanted to do my yoga at nights, so no distractions, but as I was putting my kids to sleep I fell asleep as well and I woke about about 140 am just so I could keep up with the program and be consistent! I want to say thank you this I'd my first time trying to train myself by myself to be more persistent in yoga/meditation . I had to pause to go get a pen and paper so I could write down the quote and some words lol. I'm going to look up the history of some words. And display the quote in my window. It cheers me up
I've recently had a baby and a month ago I started trying to rush back into running and doing yoga at the level I had been before pregnancy and it really wasn't working for my body. I've started this 30 day challenge for beginners instead and I feel great 🤗

+Fightmaster Yoga We moved just before my baby Lola was born from London to Brighton (which is a little like a little california in the UK...by the sea, very artistic, embraces alternative living, loves yoga) and although there is a real yoga community here when money is tight and you are at home with your baby it is hard to get out to classes so to have a community available online with such an inspiring leader like yourself would be wonderful. I can not do much else than agree with previous comments; You are truly a gift! Speaking as a true beginner, the world of Yoga is very new to me but also, I believe, very much needed in my life. Having a habit of stressing a lot as well as easily getting distracted in different settings I now turn to your 30 day challenge to give it a good try. I just did day 1 and feel so calm and at peace afterwards, which is such a lovely feeling that it makes me yearn for tomorrow and day 2! You give me calm through your voice and way of speaking, whilst also making it easy to follow along, which has often proved to be difficult for me with other Yoga-videos. Not a true beginner but an inconsistent one that does home yoga via the downward dog app. It’s nice to start here with explanations and little gems about the practice. I see a comment about the creator, Leslie, passing away. I’m so sorry to hear that. Her gentle nature really drew me in with this video. I usually don’t like to hear much talking and like to play my music but it was so relaxing to be fully present and follow along.

Day two and I feel so much better. I know I’m am not going to be able to do the challenge everyday but I’m going to try my hardest to do it at least 3 times a week. That way I can work my way up to everyday and I won’t give up because it seems impossible to keep up with. Thank you for the video. I truly believe it was beginner friendly.

I thoroughly enjoy your class. It's the correct pace for beginners and easy to follow. As someone who is overweight I still find it possible to complete the poses without stressing about my extra weight being in the way. Thanks!

I do have one question, you offer suggestions for knee pain but do you have any for wrist pain? I had to rest my hands and wrists some and this is only day 2! Thank you!
day two done ! thank you lesley for these classes ! i started stretching and doing a bit of yoga around a week ago and i can already notice a slight difference : i have stronger arms and i am more aware of my posture while sitting down on my computer. i can't wait to complete this journey !

I've started yoga lessons with u and really I felt the relaxation from the 1st day .. you were the best one I learnt from and the only one I felt relieved with and never felt headache or nausea after your workouts like I always did .. I felt that I was able to breath well after your workouts really they helped me so much .. thanks beautiful ❤❤

Day 2 :) I really enjoy how nice and slow you take it, I was trying another beginner's challenge but it's a lot and it goes too quickly for me to even be able to enjoy it. I like this kind of pace.

You could try watching the whole day’s practice whilst sitting comfortably and then replaying it whist you actually do your practice.

+Fightmaster Yoga We moved just before my baby Lola was born from London to Brighton (which is a little like a little california in the UK...by the sea, very artistic, embraces alternative living, loves yoga) and although there is a real yoga community here when money is tight and you are at home with your baby it is hard to get out to classes so to have a community available online with such an inspiring leader like yourself would be wonderful. Speaking as a true beginner, the world of Yoga is very new to me but also, I believe, very much needed in my life. Having a habit of stressing a lot as well as easily getting distracted in different settings I now turn to your 30 day challenge to give it a good try. I just did day 1 and feel so calm and at peace afterwards, which is such a lovely feeling that it makes me yearn for tomorrow and day 2! You give me calm through your voice and way of speaking, whilst also making it easy to follow along, which has often proved to be difficult for me with other Yoga-videos. Thank you so much for doing this, sharing this

Not a true beginner but an inconsistent one that does home yoga via the downward dog app. It’s nice to start here with explanations and little gems about the practice. I see a comment about the creator, Leslie, passing away. I’m so sorry to hear that. Her gentle nature really drew me in with this video. I usually don’t like to hear much talking and like to play my music but it was so relaxing to be fully present and follow along.

Day two and I feel so much better. I know I’m am not going to be able to do the challenge everyday but I’m going to try my hardest to do it at least 3 times a week. That way I can work my way up to everyday and I won’t give up because it seems impossible to keep up with. Thank you for the video. I truly believe it was beginner friendly.

I thoroughly enjoy your class. It's the correct pace for beginners and easy to follow. As someone who is overweight I still find it possible to complete the poses without stressing about my extra weight being in the way. Thanks!

I agree with so many others. You're voice is so calm and relaxing. I can actually do the poses so far and I truly appreciate that! I do have one question, you offer suggestions for knee pain but do you have any for wrist pain? I had to rest my hands and wrists some and this is only day 2! Thank you!

day two done ! thank you lesley for these classes ! i started stretching and doing a bit of yoga around a week ago and i can already notice a slight difference : i have stronger arms and i am more aware of my posture while sitting down on my computer. i can't wait to complete this journey !

Fantastic classes, I really like that you to teach ujjayi breathing technique from the first class. A lot of yoga studios forget to do that.
I've started yoga lessons with u and really I felt the relaxation from the 1st day .. you were the best one I learnt from and the only one I felt relieved with and never felt headache or nausea after your workouts like I always did .. I felt that I was able to breath well after your workouts really they helped me so much .. thanks beautiful ❤❤

Day 2 :) I really enjoy how nice and slow you take it, I was trying another beginner's challenge but it's a lot and it goes too quickly for me to even be able to enjoy it. I like this kind of pace.

I was sooo hyped for this challenge and then I went ahead and fell on my knee yesterday, its all wounds and pain right now so I can't do much of these 30 days... So disappointing, but I'll be back!
