Dang it,this is like going to the groceries then gettin home and finding coupons in the mail box for the store you just came from!! I just cleaned my K&N filter (zip tie mod)on my vette 2 days ago, good tips brother!
So pretty much run it under sink water and let it air dry 24hrs. Procedure not recommended on a daily driver cause you can't drive car without a filter or with a soaked filter. Oil on filter is bad for maf sensor. And you should clean maf sensor whenever changing air intake filter(s).
Nice video again chris. One summer job you might consider is installing a kill swith like i did, i have it “hidden” in the useless cupholder. But as its your daily you perhaps have no need for it like i do.
Depends on the filter type. There are dry filters and oiled filters. The filter media in an oiled filter is completely different and the oil is actually what catches the dirt particles.
Nice video! I always have funny watch and some information. 1 question is: all of sudden I can hear some whistle kinda noice. Is it shockers or so? Because anytime I'm driving since last couple days, it has 75k miles. 2007 vette regular.
You used the wrong oil. There are differences between the green filter specific oil and k&n filter oil. Also the cleaner needs to be left on longer than just a minute.
One, pretty sure I'm not going to clean my filter at the bathroom sink, and two, I'll just buy a new filter every year rather than buy products to wash it.
am i the only guy to think reusble air filters are a waste of time? like what the fu*k.. pay 12 dollars on amazon for a FRAM air filter is NOT going to make or break anybody..., messing with air filter oil what the hell lol... no ty
Nice easy going and clear. Thanks you for giving us the benefit of your experience.

If it’s a daily, have a second filter to swap out. Easy enough. I also have a video on how to clean the MAF.
Good video Chris. Now pull those valve covers and check your springs.
Great video! I use the k&n cleaner/oil too

It’s not my daily. I have a work truck. What is the kill switch for?
Great video, need to do mine this weekend :)
Good video.
Nice
Good vid👍🏻👋🏻👋🏻👋🏻🇺🇸
I know you're cleaning the air filters but have you ever clean your gutters like to see how you go about cleaning the gutters in your C5
It’s on the list.
They make a green filter cleaner kit specifically for the green air filters. K&n says not to use their red oil on green filters
It doesn’t matter. Green filter just don’t want you to use their product with other competitors
My question might be sound stupid but: Why oiling a reusable air filter?

The cleaner bottle says “causes severe skin burns”. No gloves?
So does a bottle of Windex.
Green Filter sells a cleaning kit for their filters that keep the filter green. It hurt seeing you turn that pretty filter red.
Once it soaks in you can’t even tell.
