    I just pick one up myself in November 2013. I haven't had a bike in 30 years and was looking for the "one" until I saw the Breakout. I love it. I can't justify the money but like I said, I love it. Thanks for the video. I'm having the same problem with the mirrors. I also want the bars swept back a little more. I have a bad shoulder and I think it would help.
    Thx again and safe riding.

    Thanks Cody, your video was very instructive and it helped me out a lot. I am a biker, but never had a harley. I am seriously looking at the breakout, and I was really happy to have your view. Thanks again, cheers,

    Cody Thanks for the reply!! I am told my Big Radius will be in mid July. I as well did not like the lic plate bracket I did change it to the lower swing arm. I will upload a video or slide on youtube this weekend. Have you been getting a lot of compliments on that bike? Seems here in Hawaii everyone is eyeballing it. I changed out the hand grips, brake, chutch levers, black flush mount gas cap, chrome Heavy Breather with the Gloss black cover, lowered the bike, and smoked out the turn signals.

    Awesome Video , I have just bought the exacxt same bike , same year same colour and pipes which I had fitted , love the bike , nice to ride , I did do one extra thing tho , I had the the front end raised with 4 inch progressive forks and progressive springs, it handles better in to the corners and as I am 6'3 and 255lbs it made for a better riding position as well , So yeah recommend extened front forks with progressive springs . Again Thanks for sharing the video.

    I still love the bike, almost 4k miles on it now and running amazing. Since the video, actually the day after the post. I added the screaming eagle heavy breather intake, and the screaming eagle race tune. Dyno tuned by the Harley dealership. Just put her up for the winter. Some have asked about the size? I am 6' and 225lbs and the bike fits me perfect. I have no complaints what so ever so far.

  • @codystowe4844
    @codystowe4844  11 років тому

    Baffles are in. After talking to the service manager and the Dyno tech, they recommended i leave them in for performance and reliability. Said with the EFI its is very hard to keep a tune and performance will "fall on its face without the baffles". I am very happy with the Sound, Look, and performance from this setup. I have since added the intake and had the bike Dyno'd with the Screaming Eagle Super Tuner

    Best of luck to you getting one.. Yes, would wait for the 2014, due to the fact that there are not a lot of aftermarket parts out there right now for customizing. It is a head turner though.

    Nicely done Cody. I got my Breakout about a month ago and absolutely love to ride it. After owning two Honda sport bikes I was ready to give HD a shot and don't regret it for a minute. I am just now starting to customize my bike and really like what you have done with yours. Pipes immediately stood out!!!!! What do you think about the chrome switch covers on the black handlebars. I also agree that this bike is more comfortable than one would expect it to be. Keep the posts coming

    The pipes took me about an 1 1/2 hours to install by myself with a little Jack and Coke. No they are not the Rocker Pipes, they are the CVO Breakout pipes. Just need a small angle socket for the back bolt. The bend on the rear top pipe is a more aggressive bend then what is on the Rocker, they will not fit. Enjoy your new bike, I love mine

    Im a current HD owner and have had my share of headaches. On this deployment I have debated on the Breakout and the Victory Hammer. After all the research Victory comes out on top in performance, price and duration of build... But sadly it just isnt a Harley. I really REALLY wish I could pull myself away but a Harley is a Harley, they turn heads, they sound phenominal, and in the true scope of why guys get bikes... It gets chicks wet. The appeal of HD in American is unmatched no matter what

  • @codystowe4844
    @codystowe4844  11 років тому +1

    Which lic plate mount did you go with? I have been trying to find one that will work. Kuryakin makes one, but no one will give me an answer if it will fit or not. Sound like you have an awesome setup. Yes people are always eyeballing the bike, but of course not many people know what a Breakout is.. Hahaha. I actually entered a local bike show and won 1st place because the judges thought it was a highly modified Wide Glide..... I just accepted my trophy and laughed...

  • @codystowe4844
    @codystowe4844  11 років тому

    Turns are fine, it handles great.... The 240 rear tire does take a min to get use to, and you do have to lean more in the turns. Defiantly should take one for a test ride before butting one though. I love mine.

    I own a 2014 Breakout and I've got to replace my stock mirrors also. Just wondering if your Kuryakyn mirrors really solve the problem? After reading through most of the posts I'm surprised how negative some people can be. I really enjoyed your video and I'm looking forward to any more helpful information that your willing to share. Thank you Cody!

    Hi Cody. Nice video. I am interested in buying this bike. However I am 6.2" (..on a good day as you say) and I've read that the length of this bike is similar to the night rod. I have seen the night rod with smaller guys than me and the bike looked rather small. So I'll go and have a look but your input would be very useful. Thanks a lot.

  • @dlorenz77

    Thanks Cody, Nice bike. I love the mirrors and gauges your installed. The pipes sounds great. Are the handle bars too far of a stretch? How about corners? Do the pegs scrape the road when turning too short?

  • @scerbi
    @scerbi 11 років тому

    Thanks for the review Cody. I don't know if you mentioned this but how does it handle in the corners. I've read reviews that say it takes some muscle to turn especially when going slow. I live up near Quantico and I want to pick up a 2014.

    Looking good. Did you have it dyno'd or just basic map? I am torn between those and the Bassani 2/1. I got the CVO version but prefer the black in non-cvo. I was amazed at how much more comfortable it was than my old Heritage.
    I did google the "hammer" ugh... I can see why that guy is trying so hard to reclaim so dignity. ha ha ha.

    No, since I have posted this video of my Breakout, I have since traded it in on a 2014 Streetglide Special. I love the Breakout and it's look however, it was killing me on long rides. The Streetglide is my new baby now.

    • @RyanMcIntyre

      Whats wrong with it on long rides?

    • @RyanMcIntyre
      @RyanMcIntyre 10 років тому +2

      Wind blast. I could only take my cruiser for about an hour sitting up in the wind before my core was just too fatigued to do the job, then I found myself hanging on by my hands which is unsafe and only good for another hour. Bikes without windshields are great around-town hops, but useless for any distance/time unless you just enjoy it or don't know better. I put a small windscreen on the cruiser, made life way better.

    • @Kashmirknight
      @Kashmirknight 8 років тому +1

      The wind...plain and simple. I have had a Harley Breakout for about a year now. It is one of the most comfortable rides I have ever owned, but when on the interstate its a brute. I have about 12,000 miles on it in the first year. I have done rides about 550 miles a day for several days straight. Mostly back roads, and the main reason for that is because when you get that thing on the interstate...(which i have done for 2/3 hrs at a time). Its just misery at about 70mph. You no longer are enjoying the ride...you just want to get to where your going.

    I turned it sideways. The mounting bracket that it comes with allows you to have it straight or turned. However, depending on the State you live in, it may be illegal to turn the plate sideways. So research the state laws first.

    whaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaat
    dude the license plate being hung out from the bike like normal is actually one of my biggest pet peeves about the bike. i really wish they'd just stick it under the taillight or keep it sideways like they have on yours.
    in a way, they did you a small favor putting it sideways. this way it doesn't jut out from the bike, creating any wasted aerodynamics.
    (albeit, they could've put it under the taillight, which is really where it belongs.)
