Clothes hanged on a balcony in the narrow streets of Italy is something that is very special and free. 😊 Beautiful country.
Friends and family will come and go in our lives, but there is ONE PERSON who will ALWAYS be with us: Us. Our inner being. Many people are afraid of being alone with their thoughts, because this contemplative time often forces us to revisit past trauma, things in our lives we need to change, etc. But, when we bravely go inward and feel the feelings and work through our stuff, and when we get to know ourselves at the deepest level-not only our fears but our true passions and talents and dreams-there is no greater reward. When you can be your own best friend and truly love yourself, life completely opens up, because you no longer need external validation. You are living in complete freedom, accepting yourself and others without judgment. Alyssa, I can see you are on an introspective, seeking path, and like a seed bursting through dark soil into the light, I know you are headed for accelerated growth and creativity and joy.
Wonderful! Enjoy this time. One of the best things I did a few years back just before covid was to travel to Strasbourg (there for a conference) then take an extra week without using technology. It was a bit surreal but I talked to many people to get around and to “lose myself”. To this day, the best experience I could do for myself and so confidence building. I came back to Australia, picked up the French language to fluency (didn’t know the language there either) and deleted all my social media accounts. (I was a social media coach too who travelled the world speaking at conferences about social media😂). Taking time off is so important to our mental health and well being. I love the content of your videos, but one thing that really touched was the fact that things are not always easy (even though they may appear so) and that learning to just be and as you said, look after yourself, is skill that I think today is lacking. I grew before technology took off, and actually love to leave it all alone and just be, wether walking my dogs or reading a book.
We're so connected to technology that it seems that even when you're alone, you're not actually alone.
I have a bad habit of mindlessly scrolling to soothe myself..

How lovely that you get to travel alone and work where ever you want to. My family and I visited Italy in 2005 when our daughters were 14 and 18. What an amazing country. The people were so friendly. I hope to visit other countries in Europe as my husband and I are retired. Please consider showing places in Canada as I would love to visit that country as well. Thanks.
I love your videos, Alyssa, you're so down to earth. I also thoroughly enjoy doing my handwashing etc while away on holidays, it's relaxing 😅 I never use a clothes dryer, it's either outside on the clothes line or on a wooden clothes horse inside, when inclement weather. However, living in Western Australia, there is plenty of sunshine, even in winter. I live alone with my little chihuahua and am really comfortable with my own company these days. My adult children live 700km away but visit regularly, I can't say I ever feel lonely but I am an introvert, so time alone is imperative to my wellbeing 😊 Take care Alyssa, give yourself plenty of time to adjust to your new normal 😉 Big hugs for Apollo ❤
I can definitely relate to a two icecream day. Mine was whilst away from home in Ohrid, Republic of Macedonia last year.
I feel I can also relate to the needing time to recalibrate when life doesn't go as you expect.

last week I have heard sbdy say something along the lines like: the universe is sick of us neglecting our issues. now it speeds up the pace, so we almost get cornered and have to face our wounds and stuff, so we can all heal more and faster. that kinda gave me some relief, as I truly believe, life loves us. we are life ourselves💚best wishes to everybody, beth

Enjoy yourself in Trapani. Wish that I had known you were there. We stayed just outside Trapani, in Nubia. It would have been fun to meet for coffee. We just got back from Sicily yesterday. Spent two weeks riding our tandem. Highly recommend a day on Favignana, cycling from beach to beach. Don't miss Giardino dell'Impossibile. Always love your videos!

Love this and would enjoy seeing more of the day! The ONLY thing I question is practicing your Italian in Sicily…I haven’t been there in a few years but my memory is the ‘Italian’ they speak is almost nothing like the rest of the country. Recommend places like Bologna, Modena or Parma in the North for the learning/practice purposes. 🙂
Sicily is wonderful. Last time I was there my rental car was brand new. Who wants a new car in SICILY? My goal was to spend each evening watching the sunset with a glass of Amarone, Barolo, or other amazing red in hand. Such a magnificent holiday. I'd like to return più presto che possibile!

I did not know I could wash cashmere. Hand wash with cool water?
I have hand washed cashmere and silk in cold water for years with great results. If I had known about that earlier I would have skipped all that dry cleaning in my twenties. Live and learn I suppose! Also, I started using Tru Earth at Alyssa’s suggestion, probably a couple years ago, and I love it. I recommend it to family and friends without hesitation.
