Dave does have a great voice. Someone's taste has nothing to do with how good a voice is. Listen to more of their music. I will admit his voice is very unique which throws people off a bit at first but I guarantee once you actually listen to more of their music you really appreciate his style. It is perfect. He has good range you just need to listen. 😃

While dave was the guitarist on metallicas first 7 song demo Dave didnt play guitar on any metallica album but musically wrote most of four horsemen , metal militia , jump in the fire , phantom Lord , ride the lightning , call of ktulu and a little piece of leper messiah while hetfield wrote the lyrics .
Just to let you know Megadeth has a song called 502 from the album so far so good SO WHAT ( The album before rust in peace )

The way ive described Daves voices is not so much of a "sing song" voice but more like a Metal Storyteller, putting on personas and such, and regardless of if you like the tone of his voice or not, he is absolutely hitting the notes right. Love this band

This was featured in a game, yes; Guitar Hero: Warriors of Rock (GH6), near the end of the franchise from Activision. It appears as the first of three final songs in the final venue (serving as the final boss battle). Megadeth also wrote and performed a song specifically for GH6, the last and final song on that same setlist, called Sudden Death. And it's brutal, one of my favorites from Megadeth. Should check that one out too.

There became a feud between Megadeth and Metallica from the fans. Dave has been a crucial influence in Metallica’s career and all the hate needs to stop. No contest just good music! Amazing how people love drama and start shit for no reason between those two. Just because Dave was quite “fired” which is still controversial if that’s a fact, it didn’t stop both bands from being involved with each other’s work! Get over it people. Dave’s voice is different and that’s good! Musicianship is fantastic! Megadeth and Metallica could care less about your pissing contests. People love them both for different sounds. Disagree that Metallica and Megadeth are similar (both are exceptional but different). I would say Metallica and Rammstein are similar in that the music is just there to absorb...takes little effort. Megadeth is more like Dream Theater...you really need to listen closely to fully appreciate what is going on

ok dudes: no one told you so i wont go hard on you but in the world of metal it is blasphemy to pause a song in the middle of a guitar solo going so far as to say it is forbidden by metal law, some say out of respect for the artist as well as breaking the flow and momentum of the song and listener . every metal head has his own reason but whatever it is we all agree in unison never EVER, stop or pause a song in the middle of a guitar solo. enough said ...with that i welcome you to the world of metal gentlemen, the grandest of all generes. enjoy.
Not only does it sound good, but it sounds hard to play... For any aspiring guitar player this song is the devil. Not the lead or chorus just the basic... Basic anywhere in this song is a a misuse of the language. Calling this difficult is like calling the ocean damp.
No other voice would fit a Megadeth song...so let's move on shall we?
I disagree about of importance of vocals. Queen without Freddie, Sabbath without Ozzy, Hetfield, Mustayne etc. Their voices are unique and you can't imagine these bands with different vocals. It would be just a different band.
This sounds like the remastered version. Try to track down the original mix. It's way better.
Metallica has nowhere near the musicianship and Technical skill as Megadeth. Trading Dave Mustaine for Curt Hammett is like trading a Ferrari for a 85 Volkswagen
