One thing about the scribes that you have missed is the fact that they have de facto no recharge time for their spells. Because unless you get randomly twice in a row the same spell that you have used, all the new random spells you get will be new ones that don’t need to recharge. Worth mentioning, is at the end of their skill line, The Blue Scribes are capable of casting cataclysm spells, which is, as far as I know, one of the ONLY two ways to acquire cataclysm spells in Immortal Empires. Edit: The other being the Eye of the Gods mechanic for Warriors of Chaos
I’m still amazed at how salty those guys in your video the other day are about total war Warhammer. How they claimed it’s “objectively bad.” Sure the game does a ton of things badly, and is objectively worse in some ways than other total war titles, but the game has such a depth of content and so much replay ability, and it did what it set out to do, which is make warhammer fantasy into a fun total war game.
Ya the Greek guy just hates the game and I'm unsure why bother with the franchise then. This game is great and they haven't come out with a great historical total war in idk how long. Rome 2 is my guess but that's years after it's release. Everyone's got an opinion but this game is alot better than they rate it.
I recommend the legendary lord and hero artefacts mod, if you want better gear for these characters. Also, the recruit defeated legendary lords mod will usually also provide you these heroes, if you play the same race.
I had been hoping you were going to do a hero tier list again, as the WH2 one was very helpful and good. I would love to see this done for the non legendary heroes too, since the WH2 needs an update.
kayzk was such a standout in my tamurkhan campaign, even outside of his boosts, he is simply a fantastic pair with tamurkhan on the battlefield as you want tamurkhan making use of his massive aoe attacks so having a character just able to win any 1v1 fight with any lord, hero or monster is just fantastic
I am not sure about "Vlad's Faction Trait is better than Isabella". His faction trait boils down to: "+10% Movement Range (all armies)" Meanwhile Isabella has: "+3 Vampire Hero cap" and "+25% Damage for Vampire Heroes". I know, logistics are important and +10% movement range is extremely nice, but Vampire Hero cap is hard to come by (because it's exclusive to high tier province capitals). On top of that - because Vlad has 2 equipment pieces (with a +1 Control factionwide, mind you, so that's a thing Isabella gets from the start as well), that means you have to do 2 quest battles to complete. And depending on how things are going, you might not be in a position to do them (especially back to back). So, unless I am missing something, I am not sure why Legend thinks that Vlad's faction effect is better (unliess +10% movement irange is THAT powerful to overshadow everything else)
10% move range for all armies is huge when AI starts playing whack-a-mole and it also helps you finish off armies in 1 turn(win and then win again). Lord vlad also gets +50% item drop which hero vlad doesnt get. Lord vlad also has 3 quest battles which is 3 blood kisses compared to isabellas 1. Lord vlad starts with blood knights which are objectively better than the varghulf that isabella starts with.
@@666Kaca Thanks for the explanation! I do know about the movement range part (though still not sure if I can agree on it's power for now) I definitely missed the part about the skill tree difference and 3 Quest Battles (to be fair, I haven't played him for so long, I was just measuring things by the number of equimpent items, so that's my mistake)
@@МаксимГригорьев-ъ7фMovement range is huge in campaigns. You’re telling me you’ve never been in a situation where you’re one step away from reaching an enemy or settlement
Would you consider also rating the Damned Paladin from Cylostra? Has 20% ward save while being ethereal, very tanky early while also slowing in an aura.
I actually managed to get Ariel as Drycha once after confederating Durthu. It was an unmodded save, so I have to assume it's something that's possible rather than some random bug. Some things to note about it was that the Sisters of Twilight were destroyed fairly early, and that Ariel was wounded when I acquired her, and I only noticed I had her when I got a notification that she was back in action.
Vlad makes sense where he is. He is an S tier hero but he comes at the cost of an incredibly strong legendary lord. Similarly the Sword of Khaine makes any army containing it a doomstack, at the cost of catastrophic penalties. Opportunity cost does not play favorites.
I tried to steal The Green Knight from Repanse in a Tehenhauin campaign and just got the message that he left instead, so he's even worse than you mentioned Legend. Stupid Gilles won't work for my lizards after I threw him into zombie halberds...
You can get Ariel as Drycha through confederation Durthu. I would say the best way to do thus is kill the sisters of twilight very early. The sisters imo are the most aggressive wood elves other than you, so they are often the ones who get Ariel I find. Killing them makes it much more likely that durthu will get Ariel
Bruckner lets your army ignore attrition, which lets my Elspeth go romping off East, blowing up Chaos Dwarf empires to loot their schematics, which is great fun. Still not that good, but great fun.
I did manage to pull of the Durthu Confederate to get Arial, was absolutely cracked and felt like having two horrifying LL's since i was Drycha, crazy stuff.
I have seen Ulrika get recruited by Malakai and I have seen Ariel be in Durthu's army ironically in the same campaign where I was playing Golgfag, so I think cause I was helping both Malakai and Durthu and doing contracts for them it caused them to both get powerful and last long enough. But I did see Ariel in Durthu's army since he confederated basically all of the forest.
The Golden Knight is abit weird, by no means the best melee fighter on the list...but her upgraded guardian ability + her negating magical weapons means sticking her into a hero squad makes them super tanky. Really strong if you, like me, prefer to have Katarin on the wyrm mount instead of the sled.
I feel like Tamurkhans other chieftains should probably be included no? I get you explained unique heroes as opposed to legendary, but I would say they have enough differences to them compared to their standard variants to be considered a legendary hero. Some of them especially provide some huge buffs to different types of units
On my most recent Drycha wood elves campaign my first confed was Durthu and sure enough he had Ariel. Thought it was cool but, didn't really grasp how rare all that falling into place was.
Bruckner is definitely better than C tier. You neglected to mention he gives Terror to all demigryphs in his army. An army of ~14 demigryphs and some heroes and tanks is one of the strongest stacks the Empire can field. It's basically unstoppable, it can solo all the endgame scenarios at 200%.
Recently I did a Marcus Wolfhart campaign, because between his unique heroes, the LL's the empire can get and the 5 generic heroes. That's 13 unique-ish heroes (technically 2 witch hunters) but I ran all 13 heroes with 6 huntsman in Wolfharts army. Theodore Brukner starts off a little meh, but when he had all his skills he was one of my best murderers, specially during Dwarf crisis. But only my life mage, the elf chick, and Gotrek could really compete in his killing power.
Can confirm you can get Ariel as Drycha through Durthu confederation, happened in my last campaign as her, durthu DID however do extremely well in that campaign...tho, he often does in my campaigns
I feel like you’re not giving enough credit to saytayn the watchers army buffs. He gives so much bonus to all missile units it’s actually crazy. Love the video
Yeah, I think so far this is a solid list, only thing I'd change is probably bump seytang up to A tier. He has a nice amount of army buffs, and is a very good fighter/artillery. Can absolutely decimate some single entities.
Drycha confederating to get Ariel works, it happened on my most recent wood elves playthrough, though it was so late in the game that almost all fights were just auto resolve wins
I have gotten Ariel as Drycha before from confederating durthu. It deffinately can happen, but you have to hold off a bit on the confederation quest for him until Ariel is on the map and hope it is durthu who gets her. Also the golden knight makes her accompaning lord have more wardsave, winds of magic and replenishment.
With the scribes You just take life magic, and then don't pick anything until you have points to unlock them all and get the cataclisms spells, which Legend forgot to mention. If you do that The Scribes are surly S tier - getting life magic is so good.
I have a few things to say about the Green Knight. There's currently a bug with him where he cannot have any items or followers equipped. This is a new thing that cropped up for whatever reason in one of the patches within the last year. Real headscratcher and no idea how something like this happened. Spaghetti code indeed! He starts with zero movement when he is summoned. Most other Legendary heroes start with full movement on the turn they are recruited. Back in WH2, The Green Knight started with movement when summoned most of the time, so this is another bugthwt seems to have cropped up in WH3. The only times I recall TGK coming in with zero movement when summoned before in WH2 was when one's Legendary Lord fsction leader was out of campaign map movement points. Worth looking into if ever trying to bug fix for him I'd imagine. The Green Knight has a couple of nice perks due to being a ghostly character. Frostbite attacks from him is nice in a faction that doesn't normally have access to it. He provides fear and terror, which is a rare thing to find with Bretonnia outside of the Hippogriff mounts. He has vanguard deploy, another rare effect for Brets. He has regen with no fire weakness so long as he is standing within any forest spot on a battle map. He always has the Blessing of the Lady, the extra 15% ward save always being useful etc. But yeah, he sucks compared to everything else on this list. He needs a skill tree and rework for sure. Still worth getting imho, just kinda been surpassed over time with power creep. And bugs.
Ive frequently found the Golden knight to be outclassed by many chaos characters in my kislev campaign. Blue scribes Imo are fantastic. They make horrors better, and give a random cataclysm spell once you max them out on random spells. All of the cataclysm spells are quite strong obviously, most can turn the tide of a fight immediately. Thats what i would say makes him S tier
Bruckner is crazy good, but that may just be for player versus player. He's insanely good at killing enemy heroes and lords, not in a duel, but his execute is extremely useful.
Missing the Thorek legendary hero, not sure if that is classification in the game. Plus you can get him with every dwarf faction, just earn him with Thorek, save him and then you can recruit him for any dwarf faction :)

Cathay crossbows buffed by him can take out any dino before it gets anywhere close to melee.
Yeah... Green Knight and Krell do need a PROPPER Legendary Hero treatment for sure...
For those who might be wondering, yes Got and Felix are available to Ostankya
Worth mentioning, is at the end of their skill line, The Blue Scribes are capable of casting cataclysm spells, which is, as far as I know, one of the ONLY two ways to acquire cataclysm spells in Immortal Empires.
Edit: The other being the Eye of the Gods mechanic for Warriors of Chaos
"Welcome to Vietnam, gentlemen!" (c) Balthazar Goldmask
Thanks to his new "College of Magic" mechanic, he can get Cata spells as well.
Getting Ariel through confederation with Drycha happens quite often !
Or it might be because i play her faction a bit too frequently
I had been hoping you were going to do a hero tier list again, as the WH2 one was very helpful and good. I would love to see this done for the non legendary heroes too, since the WH2 needs an update.
The Itza delivery boy is king
kayzk was such a standout in my tamurkhan campaign, even outside of his boosts, he is simply a fantastic pair with tamurkhan on the battlefield as you want tamurkhan making use of his massive aoe attacks so having a character just able to win any 1v1 fight with any lord, hero or monster is just fantastic
I am not sure about "Vlad's Faction Trait is better than Isabella".
His faction trait boils down to: "+10% Movement Range (all armies)"
Meanwhile Isabella has: "+3 Vampire Hero cap" and "+25% Damage for Vampire Heroes".
It is that powerful
@@CubanPete630 Can you please expand upon it?
I just need to understand the reasoning behind this approach.
I do know about the movement range part (though still not sure if I can agree on it's power for now)
I definitely missed the part about the skill tree difference and 3 Quest Battles (to be fair, I haven't played him for so long, I was just measuring things by the number of equimpent items, so that's my mistake)
@@МаксимГригорьев-ъ7фMovement range is huge in campaigns. You’re telling me you’ve never been in a situation where you’re one step away from reaching an enemy or settlement
I played as Ungrim last month, confederated Malakai and received Ulrika as well!
Really enjoyed the rankings in each tier in this list
Would you consider also rating the Damned Paladin from Cylostra?
Has 20% ward save while being ethereal, very tanky early while also slowing in an aura.
Ayeh , you can have Ulrika with Malakai . Pit of shades with dwarfs is pretty satisfying
I love how the rating for Gotrek, Felix and Ulrika is basically just lore accurate.
Krell can summoned on 20 man army is nuts. You start on 21 units.
Saitang might not be the most powerful but it is satisfying seeing him shoot chimps from half the map away
I got aerial as drychya when I confed durthu. I didn't even know about aerial. I was like woah, this hero is good lol.
Legend forgot the norscan legendary heroes.
F to monkee

He knows something
What do you think of the new legendary hero that the ogres got? Bragg the Gutsman?
Green Knight was such a hoss when Repanse came out, now he's so outclassed.
I actually got Ariel on my drycha campaign! I didn’t even realize it was rare or difficult, durthu just has her in his army when I confederated him
Maybe once Legend's UA-cam career ends he can take up a advert VO role.
Playing a legendary Drycha campaign, left it for nearly a year. Returned, confederated Durthu and Ariel was there.
I think I have only ever seen Arial just floating around the map doing literally nothing.
I feel like Tamurkhans other chieftains should probably be included no? I get you explained unique heroes as opposed to legendary, but I would say they have enough differences to them compared to their standard variants to be considered a legendary hero. Some of them especially provide some huge buffs to different types of units
S - Superior
A - Awesome
B - baseline
C - inconsequential
D - detrimental
I really hope CA adds a character with "+1 to LD to all units on a Wednesday" to some future hero just for Legend's sake.
Hell yeah, we love sponsors.
Yo, Manscaped sponsors are back
I love the way legend says lubricate
I feel like you’re not giving enough credit to saytayn the watchers army buffs. He gives so much bonus to all missile units it’s actually crazy. Love the video
Yeah, I think so far this is a solid list, only thing I'd change is probably bump seytang up to A tier. He has a nice amount of army buffs, and is a very good fighter/artillery. Can absolutely decimate some single entities.
Drycha confederating to get Ariel works, it happened on my most recent wood elves playthrough, though it was so late in the game that almost all fights were just auto resolve wins
What a legend of total war, He finally did it.
Something Coeddil does is that he causes awakened forest attrition wherever he is, and Durthu is the only other character able to cause this
With the scribes You just take life magic, and then don't pick anything until you have points to unlock them all and get the cataclisms spells, which Legend forgot to mention.
Every time i played dryca, durthu had recruited her but when i confederated him, she didnt have any of her legendary items...
Bruckner is crazy good, but that may just be for player versus player. He's insanely good at killing enemy heroes and lords, not in a duel, but his execute is extremely useful.
Garagrim is an absolute unit. I've seen him duel Grimgor and Vlad and win.
"D? Sacre bleu!"
-A very sad Green Knight
Thanks for the video. Green Knight is one I never use, even though I like playing his factions
Another classic Legend × Manscaped collab. Love the way you integrate these ads into the video.
You can in fact get Ariel with Drycha, I have a save file with it if it's any interest.
ive gotten arielle when playing as drycha but i only realised how crazy that is after you said it lol
Missing the Thorek legendary hero, not sure if that is classification in the game. Plus you can get him with every dwarf faction, just earn him with Thorek, save him and then you can recruit him for any dwarf faction :)
Finally more tier list
Shoulda waited another month to do this after another 4 LHs are added.
