When I saw K100 cafe racers few month ago, I knew it was the one for me. Found really great bike near me and bought it few weeks ago. Absolutely love it. The engine makes these look unique.
Personally I’m a fan of the inverted forks More ridged better for sprung/unsprung weight and as a cherry on top upgraded front brakes with a bigger disk and more pistons applying force to the pads Truly a great upgrade when done correctly Losing turning radius isn’t the right way though a lot of guys accept it I don’t think I can personally
Yes, I agree the turning radius was an issue. Jaxgarage has come out with a revised version of the kit that has a higher offset to bring the forks out a little further from the tank to get some of the turning radius back.
front end looks dope, i really like the color of the tank too personally i would have offset the brake rotors and immediately aligned the forks and brake calipers
I like it so much, I am planning to "try" and do the same (not same same)…what are the minimum tools 🧰 I need? (Especially that brushless motors and the paint spray gun)…. Thank you thank you thank you
Can you post a 'How To' on installing the Acewell MD085 w/the BEP 3.0? I'm having a hell of time finding anything online elsewhere for this kind of customization. Thank you! Great work!
On your handlebars, how did you get the key section for the throttle onto the new grips? The kit from jax doesn't come with one. Does it slip over the existing grip?
I plan on keeping the K75 as is. The bike rides great so I don't see a need to swap the front end. It costs alot more money to do these front end conversions.
Yes, swapping to the CBR forks did reduce turn angle due to interference with the tank. Jax garage has newer version of the front end kit with a higher offset which helps with the steering angle.
what's the bottom triple tree diameter for the cbr forks trying to order everything in advance and can't find any answers in the forums. upper is 50 but don't know the size for the bottom and couldn't see it on your screen recording.
I believe it was 54mm but I sold this bike so I can’t take a measurement to know forsure. The Jax garage kit will accept forks with a lower clamping area of 53mm to 55mm.
Hey I really love the bike and I’m planing to do a build on my channel here soon but I was wondering where you got your brake lines from and what bike would they be for (cbr1000 or k100) thank you and enjoy the channel!!
Appreciate you watching! I buy all the brake lines from Venhill. They are all custom sizes so they don’t match up with a specific bike. I’ll have to look at what sizes I used and get back to you.
Front end suspension components is not really something you want to skimp on. Most kits all run around the same price range. The cheaper alternative is keeping the original forks and shortening them to get the bike lower in the front.

Awesome! They are really great bikes with solid engine platforms that will run for a very long time.

Absolutely stunning bike.Well done again.
Appreciate you checking out all the videos! Final episode for the K100 should be out later this week.
well thought out kit , but at those prices , so it should be.

That is a thing of beauty ...bravo👏🏻👏🏻👍🏻
Thanks man! 🙏🏻
Great work like always Mike. Looks absolutly stunning!
Thanks bro!
What a radical transformation. I was wondering how it would track. The original rider would never recognise it.
Stunning work buddy, this looks so good!
Cheers Ben! Too bad we don't live on the same side of the globe it would be fun to get the K100's together once they are finished.
@@BayCityRestorations you'll probably finish your next one before I've finished mine 😂

hahaha is that a challenge? I'll give you some extra motivation.
What offset did you go with and how did it shift your steering geometry?
CLEAN WORK ✌️

Thank you, here is a good resource for the acewell with bep 3.0 www.k100-forum.com/t13074-help-with-acewell-speedo-and-bep-3-0
On your handlebars, how did you get the key section for the throttle onto the new grips? The kit from jax doesn't come with one. Does it slip over the existing grip?
Are you talking about the throttle tube? I used the original tube and put the new Jax grip on it.
Are you going to do the CBR forks on your other K bike, Mike? Ooh, K- Bike Mike, I like the sound of that!!!
I plan on keeping the K75 as is. The bike rides great so I don't see a need to swap the front end. It costs alot more money to do these front end conversions.
@@BayCityRestorations Understood. If I remember rightly, you rebuilt those forks anyway. Did you upgrade the springs?
Yes they were completely rebuilt with new seals, internals, etc.
Good modification ❤❤👍
What a bike 👍
What's the best bit of advice you could give building a k100 cafe racer
Label everything as you take it apart and take a lot of pictures so you remember how everything goes back together
Oh my gosh, look so good... 👍👍
Thanks Bruce! Now hopefully it rides as good as it looks 😅
Me encantaron tus restauraciones, ¡abrazo desde argentina!
Thank you!
I have a question: that front axle is for Honda or this is the BMW?
The Honda cbr front axle is used. It fits the original K100 wheel.
Brutal 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
Didn't it significantly reduced turn angle? New forks seems bigger and closer to the engine/radiator reducing angle?
Yes, swapping to the CBR forks did reduce turn angle due to interference with the tank. Jax garage has newer version of the front end kit with a higher offset which helps with the steering angle.
Hey, where did you get those brake line?
Venhill
@@BayCityRestorations do you have any list of the parts?
In the description of this video are some links or if you go to the timelapse build video of this bike there is a full bull list with links there.

Nice work. Did you fix the scratches on the front brake lever?
Thank you, I'm going to opt for a newer replacement rather than doing a repair on the scuffed up one that came on the bike.
Total cost ?
Hi, Do you ship your customized bikes to India ?
I build these bikes for my personal collection.
@@BayCityRestorations you can sell your personal collections ?
can u send me the links of hydraulic connectors which u used in front (13:56) braking, especially the T connector.
They were all purchased from Venhill brakes
@@BayCityRestorations thanks and can u tell me from which site u got the exhaust pipe and the tail light from.
Exhaust pipe is the original modified to be shorter and the lights were all purchased from max inc moto
Whats the name of the color?
Omg 😱
Back in the 1950s, so called upside down was the usual way up. It is bizarre how the terminoloy has inverted
Love the build man, can I ask when you ordered your triple tree what off set you went with (30 or 40mm)?
Mine was the 30 but I would recommend going with the 40 to get a bit more steering angle. When I do my next k100 I will be doing the 40mm offset.
bellissima
Holy crap that’s an expensive conversion. Is there a cheaper way?

very nice, but why the red calipers?
It will make more sense once you see the entire bike!
Очень круто 🔥
Thank you!
Brother can you sell this bike to me ?

Nice build, just not a fan of the broken back look.
Tough to work with the k100 frame unless you chop it completely reconstruct the rear end.
Looks like really expensive build hehe
not too bad if you can do majority of the work yourself :)

Thanks for watching!

No
