I love the dynamic ambient lighting filling the cockpit! Such a simple effect but incredible results for immersion and realism!

Great idea on the dzus replicas and furniture nuts. Also nice details on the ACES. I’d say the only thing left for you to do is add your seat rails.
This is my ultimate goal, just with an F/A-18C cockpit. Currently have a Sim racing rig with triple monitors that doubles as my DCS flight sim rig. But ONE DAY, when I can have a room dedicated to sims...I will build a full fidelity DCS cockpit like this. Great stuff man!

@@d3us3xmach1na5 not sure. I'll probably start expanding by going the WinWing MIP route first. Maybe get a 3D printer at some point and learn how to do Arduino stuff and build the side panels.
Ideally I want a Sim Racing Rig and a separate Flight Sim cockpit. But for now it'll have to be one modular unit

I involuntarily took about a year off from playing and building. Between rewiring the consoles to get away from arduinos and over to Leo bodnars (right console 100%, left console 60%, mip 0%) and then moving houses it’s been tough to find the motivation. But I recently got one of the meta quest 3s and discovered the joys of vr. I got the mixed reality to work but the software doesn’t play nice so it doesn’t work well enough yet but I decided to move forward in preparation for the varjo xr4 being released to consumers or other MR developments. It’s reinvigorated me. I think I’m going to change the cdu and arc210 screens to hdmi since I’m not going to go the projector route anymore. I’m also ordering an Aces 2 chair from neoengress since I just don’t have the skills to do the chair right like you did.

That rocket cam ^_^ Looking great! The hue thing is exactly what I was thinking. It might be overkill for the additional processing, but I've considered trying to do a really low res monitor export to render a view from above (looking straight up). Maybe 128x128 pixels, and having Hue sample that in order to get light from directly above. But grabbing the top edge of the screen is probably close enough.

You should consider getting the VPForce Rhino base for the stick at some point (and maybe their DIY kit to add FF to pedals too)
in short you can have it better with VR all virtual and really 3D with higher resolution.. not to mention every single cockpit you can load into it

I was allways woundering if it is possible to add some rolling lamp that could spin 360* on some ring rails and cast sunlight/shadow on the instruments. When you fly upside down then it would dimm and get bright when you fly back to horizon. This would be awesome with adding a mixed reality (Quest3 perhaps).
I have a question about your ACES II. How did you make the inertial reel rollers? Is there a stl or step somewhere for it?
I've been wondering lately if it would be possible to use some ar glasses (like hololens or something) to project the HMCD.
I feel like that would add alot.
If I had the room and money, I'd build one of these and something similar for Battlemech games... FANTASTIC work!

I cant think Iv ever had a DCS crash.... At least not one that wasnt instigated by 3 party equipment like VR..

I'm currently building a full F16 pit, and debating between AR and projectors. I'm leaning to AR given the F16, I can't imagine projectors are a fantastic experience in a dog fight(?)

They need to rework those explosion effects. The game looks stunning, but those effects kinda look "outdated".
