“It only took them 15 years…” lol, 🔥 🔥 burrrrrned. Ya get the impression HOTAS throttle hasn’t been top of the upgrade priority list? Ever.
Wonderful upgrade, well job!
Just a quick tip regarding the hot glue, using IPA or any other alcohol to remove it, add alcohol so the hot glue is covered (or use a alcohol soaked paper towel an place it on top of the hot glue) for 10--20 sec, and the hot glue releases, and it is much more gentle to remove and less chance to break something.
Glad the throttle has found a new more useful home mate. Mods look bloody awesome as well. Nice work
HEY BROTHER!
Sorry… “Mate!”
Cheers from north Texas!!
So excited to watch the new video. I’ll comment again afterwards
Once again, well done! About time they upgraded the mini-joystick. The delta sim upgrade was absolutely worthwhile!
congrats dude. know you've been wanting to do this one for a while, great work as always
Sweet outcome! love the magnetic switches!
That cockpit is so amazing. Good work!
great work as always very informative
I did notice in pictures of the real throttle that the throttles pivot farther down in the base and full forward only has a slight tilt. Maybe 5-10 degrees. But, this is giving me some idea on how to upgrade my throttle.
Notice more fine Control with the extended Throttle arms? Love your Videos thank you.
Great work. Thanks for sharing your knowledge
Yup! Looks right and proper as usual. 👍🏼 not that you need my approval. You’re the A-10 sim God.
Awesome mod, well done!
Dude thats awesome great work
McLovin it! Great work!
My hero! Learnt a lot
oh man thank you for showing this I've been trying to work out a way to do this but tbh I've be afraid to take mine apart tao work out how that you now have a step by step guide.. The other thing too that longer throw will give you finer control over the actual throttle setting.
Watching this made me look at my X56 throttle...and how close the handles are to the base! Yes, I do believe it could use a couple inches of elevation to improve biomechanics....
Yeah I did something similar to my Virpil CM3 as well. Also makes it more precise. Well not technically but due to the arc travel if mechanically gives you more precision
Time to throttle up and enjoy another Worthog Project Video
So cool! Thank you.
awesome pit!
Great work there sir. I'm really temped by DCS but the rabbit hole is sooo deep. (Thats what she said)
Awesome!
... " I was thinkin' 'bout breaching the espionage act in order to improve me Sim cockpit - but decided against eet ..."
haha love that . Glad you modded it yourself ; I don't think they would allow your DCS / Sim cockpit in prison hey ? Great setup btw very nice .
Awesome. Wonder if there’s a way to add a shorter throw
Can we just appreciate how Thrustmaster cares about its patrons and listens to feedback and corrects issues which costs money to update a product line.
isopropyl alcohol will make hot snot removal much easier.
Just a heads up for anyone buying the HOTAS Warthog from Thrustmaster nowdays. I bought one last week (november 2023) and it came with the old version of the slew control on the throttle. I made a video about it if you want to check it.
You might have gotten old stock from a retailer.
@@EpicNinjaRides I bought it from the official store. After some back and forth they sent me the new slew but its still disappointing that they are getting rid of old units like this
@@fray_sinclair yea I have to get the upgrade, mine is the older version. Luckily my old boss gave me the whole setup so not a huge deal.
Been following your channel for a long time. It's awesome. Just wondered if you ever tried falcon 4.0 on your setup? Also wondered if you have thought about adding some kind of vertical or dome screen to your current setup?
NIce video, but I was wondering as to how you use the helmet display?
Lools amazing. I think i need to buy a 3d printer
I know nothing about the a10, but im guessing it has moving throttles when autothrottle is engaged? I am nearly finished my project of 3d printed throttles for the f14. It has throttles and wingsweep handle driven by stepper motors via gt2 belts.
I have the same problem as the guy you bought your throttle from. All of the buttons on the right throttle lever either sometimes stop working or fire randomly. I assume it's a broken cable. I only had it for about three years and I must say I'm somewhat disappointed considering that I had much cheaper joysticks that lasted a hell lot longer even though I was flying a lot more back then.
great vid as always, thanks for sharing the links to the slew hat & the pinky switch... any chance you can share the model or direct links to the specific NKK locking switches you used as well
cheers

Nice setup! What laser cutter/engraver do you use?
This is fascinating! well done. i wonder why you don't try to retrofit a winwing yhrottle by curiosity? what about your joystick base?
the joystick base is a virpil joystick base with an a-10 joystick on a offset adapter, he talked about it in an earlier vid
I've been wanting to replace my old worn faceplate with new ones, Thrustmaster doesn't sell them I will buy yours if they are available. Thank you :)
I am enough of a nerd to realize that we have the same soldering iron 🙂
Great Job. Have you made the extentions in ALU? I am serching for something like that for months.
Not yet. I've asked a few places and at this stage it seems to be cost prohibitive!
Genius
Could anyone advise me on a JST wire/connector kit please? I’m not sure what I need for this project. Thanks!
Isn't there a shipping company that will send it for you? My misses is going to New York in December to see family, maybe able to bring it back for you if you need. We live in Melbourne
To remove hot glue you can use isopropyl alcohol. Wet the glue and let it sit for a minute, then it will crumble away with very little effort
Definitely a hot tip for hot glue. I just found this out myself in the past year or so. I almost feel my life is complete now.
Outstanding!
there is a company producing a HUD for DCS ! you need one !
What company?
@@3lhm4ch don’t remember the name. They were recently featured in videos from a recent flight sim expo
Is your cockpit compatible with other dcs modules?
OMG! can i try ur setup hehe
What type of JST connectors are you using?
How do u make the HMD work?
I am curious, I have been thinking of doing stuff like this to a joystick I have, how do you know which switches will work as straight drop-ins? Do you just have to buy it or find someone else that bought it and see if it works or do they have standard wiring or something like that?
For the Laste panel I just opened it up and took a look, but I ordered the pinky switch a while ago after reading what others had used on the ED forums.
I do not have a 3d printer, where can i buy those throttle handle extensions and the extended cable to make them work?
Can't help you there, I dont make or sell anything, but you can download the files and get them done at shapeways, or any other 3d printing service.
It would be cool of you made a working hud that doesn’t display on the screen.
Since you have probably much more insight on the warthog trottle I am going to ask you. Did you by chance had trouble with the speed brake switch on your trottle after some time? DX button #7. The speed brake retraction function (moving it forward where it holds) is only registering on mine maybe one of three attempts. I already replaced once my pinky switch so this is also age related thing as I fly with this trottle for years, but this switch got me puzzled as there is not that much info on this one compared to the well known pinky switch change.
Just ran into the speed brake switch issue with my ~6 year old throttle - intermittent contacts both ways. I found some mentions about trying to use electonic cleaner/air without even taking it apart. I'll be trying that.
@@frankmarkovich4221 Didn't helped. I ended with using a small tool called Joystick Gremlin that when I push brake back triggers "brake on" and when I release the button it triggers "brake off". So I at least have a "brake while holding" which is good enough for dogfights.
Now if you could only make it move linearly instead of on an axis and it would be like a real one. Also the flaps switch looks also bigger on the real one.
do you sell the warthog throttle button layout plates ? i need some new ones ..
He gives away the plans but not the plates AFAIK
It strikes me by looking at the other control panels you may be sitting a tad too high.
Nah, height was measured from a real jet. In fact I think mine is actually a little bit too low.
Hello. I watched a few videos of you doing VR talking about how you like VR but don't like that you can't properly interact with your sim-cockpit. I recently saw a peice of software that's on steam which is basically designed so you can see your sim cockpits in VR called "Reality Mixer". As soon as I saw it your channel popped into my mind. You basically draw bounding boxes around realworld things you want to see while in a VR game.
I don't know how else to contact you so I thought I'd just post a message on your most recent vid in case you hadn't heard of it either. Not sure if it'd be usable for you as passthrough cameras aren't the best but either way it's worth knowing about. Anyway have a nice day.
Wowsers awesome I'll have a look!
Mate, u definitely need that fancy electric screwdriver, to many screws to deal around.
That Delta sim one is actually WRONG in that it has a circle opening. The cheap knock off is strangely better in my eyes because of the proper rectangular opening. This allows full and proper diagonal deflection.
Which one is closer to the actual joystick in the real jet though is the thing I am wondering.
It did come with both a circle and a square one.
hahaha i was eating my food
bro i thought that was real
Looks like it might be a good idea to take it apart anyway and blow the dust out of it.
Either he lives with a dream of a wife or he is single
Stop rewarding Thrustmaster by buying or promoting their garbage products. Their scripting language is literally from the 60's, their software hasn't been updated in over a decade, and they rebadge the same gear over and over, just to keep that churn moving... Example? The Warthog grip and the f-16 grip. Even Winwing is better than Thrustmaster.
I bought mine 12 years ago man. This video is literally me modifying it to make it better. I'm hardly promoting them lol. But honestly, what other throttle do you recommend I use for a 1:1 A10 Warthog Simulator? The market is not exactly flooded with replica warthog throttle options.
