The missing f-16 on the situation display isn't a bug. The start-up procedure changed. You should not turn the right most knob on the bottom right panel (the one that also has the alignment knob) until the alignment is done. So the new procedure for this panel is: turn on avionics by flipping the switches, turn alignment to either stored heading or norm, wait until alignment is done and turn the alignment knob to nav, THEN turn on position transmit.
Yes that is how it is done now. I have a whole startup video on the updated startup procedure. At the time that this video was made that was not the case.

Not sure what is the reason for this altitude mismatch, but the work around I'm using is to look at your actual altitude at the bottom of the screen in F2 view, and then adjust the altimeter setting so that the HUD altitude match that. I didn't have issues with bombs landing that far off the ccip reticle though, but I'm just starting in the F-16 so maybe I just got lucky. When I played mission 1 a few days ago, my bombs were also overshooting constantly. My solution to the problem was to change the Burst Altitude ( you can find it under "BA" in the "CNTL" page in the "SMS" in A-G mode). For me it worked best to set the "BA" to 500ft and climb to an altitude of around 750ft AGL when you are about 20 seconds away from the target. I also tried climbing to about 4000-5000ft AGL with a BA of around 1000ft when I was 20 seconds away from the target and it worked just fine. I would also recommend training to drop some cbu-87 bombs in similar scenarios, so you don't mess it up after flying 30 minutes in the FIWOS mission.

I'm sure it's incorrect for real life. However, in DCS I've found it helps me stay on centerline until I have enough rudder authority to control with the rudder. This isn't meant to be real life procedures.
Hahaha ok, thanks for clarifying your reasoning because my OCD kicked in when I saw that and I had nightmares of one old grumpy CFI I had, slapping me on my bald head (he never did that IRL) LOL. Yeah, it's a game and it's fun, so whatever works for you is fine. For me, leaving NWS engaged during the initial roll and then disengaging it as I pick up speed and get positive airflow over the control surfaces, works great. Never even thought about tapping the brakes. But again, whatever works 😅
that CANNOT be a realistic arrival procedure
did the FIWOS guy ever hear about an overhead break??
First lol
I always enjoy content like this. It's always good to see what someone else's thought process is on a mission is to compare with one's own, so you can verify your tactical decision making process.
Are you using some kind of sound mod? Because the pilots breathing and the M61 Vulcan are sounding a bit different.
