Man you’re getting me so fired up for next season. Have a trips scheduled for May, July and august, hoping to get on the night bite. Great video man thanks!
Appreciate that! We're excited for next season too, but the fat lady hasn't sung just yet - there's been a solid night bite going on for the past week here!
Love the International12VISX. Good recommendation.
Great video Nate 👍
That 1st gen Fathom 40NLD2 is capable of MUCH larger fish than 75# as you mentioned. I have a 205# and a 195# to my (somewhat lucky) credit.
80"er on my 25N OG fathom.
What line did both of u guys carry on your fathoms for it to perform this way?
Mine was filled with 65lb X9, topped with 100 yards of 100lb hollow core to a 10-ish foot 100lb leader. How you fight is critical, and the depth of water too. I caught my fish in 300-ish feet, so it couldn't sound and spool me. We had to chase it and I couldn't really apply mad heat til I had 100lb braid going onto the reel. With 100lb braid 30lbs of sustained drag is no problem, even more is possible. You just gotta maintain heavy pressure, I used a 5'8 jigging rod. Didn't have the drag set high enough, 20 lbs minimum and took 40 minutes. 30lbs, would have been 25 min or so.
@@the1stvendetta thanks
Good based
How long of a top shot do you recommend in the 100lb braid setup? And do you recommend mono in that 135lb? Thanks! Great video
what about a high end lighter setup?? centaur an torque 40?? how do you feel about the talica 20 and or saltiga 55??
Do you always use a top shot? I prefer braid strait to the bite leadeR
Is Beyond Braid reliable for West Coast style fishing for BFT?
Do you think an 18.5ft boat could venture out at night for bluefin? I've seen San Diego bay during the night and it's hella calm.
Left handed reel opinions?
I have similar jig. Hooks only at bottom. But the bluefin were biting the top so I didn't hook a fish. How can I work the jig so the fish swallow the jug?
So what youre trying to say is 'top hook no gud'?
