Romulus would have been better if Rain was offed halfway through with the Punk kid becoming the lead with Andy. He could have overcome his prejudice, learned to trust synthetics and broken the cliche trope of final girls in the Alien series.
@@HumanHamCube Alien franchise has never been about characters learning from their mistakes. Ripley would’ve always done the right thing in terms of destroying the xenomorph once you remove the human element. Nuking the Nostromo, Hadleys Hope, and even killing herself. He's actually too busy ruining the Terminator franchise and making shitty Avatar movies to help destroy Alien, besides, Ridley already has that covered, so he's not really needed.
In reality most all of Hollywood writers and directors are creatively bankrupt. That's why we're getting "remakes" and installments to existing ip. Nobody wants to start from scratch and create.
Yeah it’s such a shame - as he had some great films back in the 80’s & 90’s: Terminator, Aliens, the Abyss, Terminator 2, Titanic). The Avatar films look good, but they are weak scripts, imo, & also much more family friendly compared to his early films.

Right, these people often do not have someone next to them to say "That's stupid James..." or "That is the most absurd idea I have ever herd Ridley..." and those few who existed probably either died since or went inactive. And the new ones keep nodding approvingly "Fascinating! Awesome! This is incredible! Flawless!" etc....
James Cameron and Ridley Scott were in preproduction on Alien 5 film when the brain dead execs at Fox announced they were going to do AvP instead! Can you imagine what an incredible movie these two titans could have made together! Thanks a lot Fox, you blew it again!
I think from what I heard Cameron was going to direct and Ridley was going to direct and they were going to do an origin story on the Xenomorph and when Fox decided to do the AvP movies JC left the project and Ridley decided to do Prometheus.
Cameron "officially signed off" on the Tim Miller travesty of a Terminator movie. I was skeptical when Hamilton was announced, shes Camerons ex wife. They really famously HATE!!! each other....like a lot! It was nice to see her name pop up, she was awesome back in the day. Still kinda has it, definitely knows the role, carries the weight of the role properly. Shes really got the gravity and shes the name we all use to "thwart" feminists in arguments, she just came back in an awful movie, with terrible premise and worse dialogue.
Well the idea was to bring the original cast back. Arnie and Linda started it all and fans want that too but the movie story wasn't the great. Same rehash of traveling back in time to stop John Connors or in this a girl in an alternate timeline.
Wasn't the first time they tried to get Linda back 😒 she refused countless scripts. But obviously the money 💰 and final potential big movie was too much to refuse. Sadly Linda is finished in Hollywood. She's way past it.

I respect Ridley Scott, especially for him creating the Alien franchise (and several other very good works, i.e. Blade Runner, Gladiator) and yet I have a feeling he is behind the reason James Cameron has never done a follow up to Aliens. Ridley Scott simply did not like certain ideas and possibly hated the whole offshoot. Too bad. Alien and Aliens are both masterpieces.
He didn’t create alien. He directed the first movie and was smart with how he did it. Cramped spaces and not showing big chap much. Gieger did the designs and Giler and another guy or 2 wrote it
@@jarodshepard1046 It was Scott's decision to bring in Giger after O'Bannon showed it to him. To me, it's Scott's genius that made all this possible, he made the decisions that ended up in the final product. Just as Cameron's genius created Aliens. There is a reason these two movies are the best, by far. Romulus is very close in style, but the story is not that fascinating. But I like the movie. Scott has torpedoed several attempts at Alien instalments. You are entitled to your opinion, same is true to me. Some don't like Aliens due to the queen being in it, and the aliens (xenos) being "unitelligent" but that is a misunderstanding. When alone, the xenos are very intelligent. When controlled by the queen, they do her bidding. And she is willing to sacrifice fighters at a whim. Anyways, everyone is entitled to like/love what they feel is worthy of that love.
Ridley Scott _DID_ _NOT_ _CREATE_ _THE_ _ALIEN_ _FRANCHISE_ !!!!! This is a lie that he has encouraged low information fans to propagate faster than a Xenomorph colony and for longer than W-T has known about the Engineers. Ridley Scott was hired to _Direct_ the movie Alien which was _created_ by Dan O'Bannon and Produced by Brandywine's Giler, Hill and Carroll. Even H.R. Giger was brought on before Ridley Scott. The man is an ego-maniacal tool that encourages and allows others to credit him for creative decisions he had no part in besides Directing, or Producing.
Scott has a strange hold on the franchise and James doesn't want to bang heads with little control. He has full control of Avatar and Terminator. But would love to see him do a Predator style movie like he did for Aliens.
@wilmartinez1 Scott has no control over shit it’s all fox every single thing is fox they interfere with Scott too fox has hijacked control over the franchise since alien 3 when they took control from brandywine
@@jackmullin8962 You're only partly correct. James Cameron and Gale Hurd hold _equal_ rights to the Terminator franchise, as US law allowed them to reclaim their original rights after 35 years. They have mutually agreed to allow Skydance to maintain a license to produce additional films. In fact, they were supposed to produce a new trilogy until the "woke" franchise retcon Terminator : Dark Fate bombed with paying fans, failing to be (Hollywood) profitable.
My friend and I were like "Did that oddly seem very much like the ending to X for this one?" and he was like "Yeah it did." Now we know why. It was so rough. We do agree with you Nate, that the two leads were good, especially the actor that plays the synth. It was just the writing choices and some of the actors could have been better.
I thought the ending was in line with what Fede was trying to do tying all the alien franchise movies together so that some things were explained. I’d love the movie. Can’t wait to watch it again.
Romulus basically recycled the original Alien story and then plagiarized ... er ... borrowed elements from every other Alien theatrical release. was the pastiche done well? Yes, for the most part, but it wasn't original. I also didn't find it at all shocking, but the Aliens-like fast edit and constant action kept the audience's attention for the entire 2+ hour runtime. I think the most original part of the movie was the first half-hour in which Fede did what Scott can't do in creating and developing a cast of characters in which the audience can invest.
@pizzathehutt1812 Yaa but he didn’t really do much for dark fate outside the story out line which had 6 writers and he was just really producer in name really more occupied with avatar 2
It's funny that he wont return to alien but will keep doing avatar because his Avatar films clearly have a lot of aliens influence especially with the Space Marines.
@bigkmoviesandgames it’s because with avatar he gets half the box office it’s his ip he gets to do what ever he wants with alien he would be dealing with fox again.
@@jimbowlan5804 he did create the IP but it's owned by 20th century Studios he's definitely getting paid well but he's not getting half the box office. However considering Disney owns both Avatar and Aliens I don't think that's the reason he won't do it, I think he just likes doing Avatar.
Heh, yesterday i watched old sci-fi, horror Galaxy of Terror (1981): James Cameron was production designer and director of second unit: sets of the planet evoked so much Terminator (1984) and Aliens (1986), that was kinda good thing about the movie. Movie itself it's not very good, it's mix of Alien and Star Wars (the Master), but it was interesting to see his beginnings...
Now I love Fede Alvarez even more. The studio says:" Well, it's probably too much" and Fede goes "There is no too much. Let's do it anyway." That's the spirit. That's the way to go. Great movie. I've enjoyed every minute of it. Do I wan't to see more of Rain and Andy? Yes, of course. But the story has to be unique and not some rehash of things, that have been done before. The people of Yvaga are experimenting with the pathogen and hell brakes loose. Rain and Amdy have to stay alive and manage to escape. That's a movie, I'd like to watch.
That article citing it as “Prometheus 5” is incorrect. People keep confusing the line Rook says in the movie. He says “Prometheus fire”, in reference to the mythological story and also as a call back to the movie.
There was so much exposition from the CGI Ash/Rook character that it's understandable some misunderstandings resulted. Of course, if it wasn't for Scott's need to legitimize his craptastic "prequels" there wouldn't have been a need for the Ash/Rook cgi character and all the boring exposition and bad blending.
I love that Fede committed to the ending; its a little disjointed and 'separate' -- kinda like a short stapled to the end of a seemingly complete film -- but, I've seen it twice now and the energy in the audience was palpable both times during it. It's pretty edge of your seat stuff and maybe the most truly Alien part of the film, in the sense of showing something horrifying and foreign and 'alien,' it's essentially a microcosm of the Alien movie concept itself. I think the Resurrection comparisons are absolutely moot (I get the kneejerk, and I do love Resurrection but it just plays completely different here), and although its not really a 'surprise 4th act' like Alien/Aliens (Romulus definitely builds to this outcome clearly throughout) I do think it works really well. Sadly, the xenomorph has become iconic, and has lost its 'horror' impact a bit, so having an ending like that with a xeno would be much more challenging to get the mood right. This worked so well because up until we see the full-grown thing, we're like "wtf is it, wtf is it?" Still, I'm a bit mixed, because I just love the xenos and want to see more of them, but I think this ending was a success overall. I can definitely see this being a sequence I choose to watch occasionally on youtube for years to come, even beyond full rewatches.
Cameron knows if he did return to the ALIEN universe, he'd never top his 1986 classic. Besides, he probably still enjoys the fans arguing over which film is better: ALIEN or ALIENS? I wouldn't be surprised if he did try to distance himself from ROMULUS (and the director) - he probably knew it was going to be sh*t.
Good thing the Alien franchise ended with Aliens. Because Alien 3 and Resurrection aren’t canon. Prometheus and Covenant are part of Ridley Scott’s universe, not the Alien universe.
Alien 3 is pretty good and nicely wrapped up Ripley's story arc. But 4 was not great. Prometheus and Covenant are both great but it's a story about engineers and then AI run amok and aliens was a side story. There would have been an epic third movie where aliens and humans and AI and engineers have an epic battle on the colony ship like in the comics.
@@jonfreeman9682 you like them killing off newt and hicks the way they did?! 😡 disrespectful to Aliens. No forgiving that. At least resurrection is dumb fun.
Alien 3 is canon, Dan O'Bannon who wrote the script for alien (1979) and also he is the creator of alien story wrote for third movie but fox butchered his script. James Cameron nor ridley Scott is not alien creator. You should read about Dan O'Bannon, without him alien movie won't exist
The problem with the terminator is...its not an original story. Sophia Steward created the backbones on which movies built their films. Until she comes up with new ideas, the terminator or matrix wont work.
I wish Cameron stopped wasting time with those damn blue monkeys. He's not getting any younger and he will spent his last 20 years working on 10 Avatar movies
That's why it's so frustrating to place a new movie chronologically between the first two films. If this one gets a sequel, and that sequel gets another sequel, we'll end up with a timeline running parallel to the second, third, and fourth parts. The films on that parallel timeline would have to constantly stay in line with the original trilogy and Resurrection. Of all the possible directions for a new Alien movie, the director just had to go with a filler that feels like a compilation of all the previous Alien films. The story involving Xenomorphs could have easily taken place in a more distant future, without having to directly tie into the first four movies.
Neil Blomkamp movie story was basically is to re-write Alien3, removing the original Alien 3 and Resurrection from canon, the story was-similar to Romulus- WY capturing the queen and being it back to Earth or whatever planet or station they wanted to do experiments on, bringing back Hicks and Ripley as experts
'The Abyss' is Cameron's biggest movie flop as a film director if you could indeed call it a flop. Budget was 45 million and it took in 90 million dollars at the Box Office in 1989. Critics were not kind to the film and James had his first professional tantrum blaming the audience and the critics for the films so-called failure. Sound familiar? I went to see it at the cinema when it was first released and I really enjoyed it. Not as much as 'Aliens' though.
Not surprising at all because Ridley is still in charge and he was not a fan of Cameron's lore that changed the way eggs were made. There's a deleted scene from 1979 Alien shwoing how eggs were made and it was NOT a queen. Ridley wants control of his baby, it's not that complicated.
Ridley is not creator of alien franchise. It's not his baby. He just director to hired for alien (1979) Creator of alien is Dan O'Bannon but his script is too B movie so Ronald Shusett was hired to fixed the script. Later Ronald bring H.R Giger to create alien design. Without this 3, Ridley is nobody
James Cameron doesn't need to return to the Alien franchise. He already directed Aliens a perfect sequel but it would be nice if he could be a producer for any future Alien movies
I think new eyes are needed on these franchises. Alien Romulus is a testament to that, I loved Romulus, I think Fede knocked it out of the park and gave us an Alien fim we wanted, box office shows that. He's obviously a deep fan himself. I'm looking forward to see what he does next, he needs to stay for sequels, if he doesn't, that could go bad. If he can do great work with an Alien film, I wonder what Fede would bring to the Terminator franchise? I reckon he'd bring it right back to technological horror. People whinged about fan service, I LOVE THAT, it shows that Fede is a total fan, and you can almost imagine him geeking out over details....the Isolation emergency phones, set details, nods. It shows respect to every film and game.
I would had appreciated romulus more, if the director would had added an retro effect to the camera. The props were spot on, it just looks weird as 4k quality
One route they can go is, if they didn't eject Kay's body into space her body with the serum still in her body continues to mutate her body once they get to their destination and she transforms into some type of queen alien.
I would have liked to have seen the Alien Movie that Rook describes what happened to the Romulus Space Station when they captured The Big Chap?! Let's see that!
I actually disagree with your take, i thought them doing the fakeout ending and having the hybrid be the last obstacle was perfect. Not only as a callback to the first films fakeout ending but the sheer absolute horror of that thing coming out of that woman and us actually witnessing it all was actual true horror. That entire sequence felt more like his Evil Dead film with the hopeless soundtrack and instant mutilation of Andy and Kate. When I heard "oh the director of that gnarly evil dead remake is doing an Alien film" That final 10 minutes is exactly what I pictured more of the movie would be, and I'm glad we at least got to see a little glimpse of it.
I agree! Not sure why everyone hates it because it added that extra bit of real horror that the movie needed. Glad the director had the balls to do something unique while retaining the original vision throughout. Great film!
That thing coming out was not horror that was comedy, me and my friend have daubed the acid pistachio and that little baby peeping out was the mail on the coffin on the last 15 minutes of the film for us, that stupid woman was pregnant and she injects herself with an unknown substance, PLEASE, then a we get old gangly alien/engineer sasquatch the worst design I've ever seen since resurrections hybrid
I thought he was scary because he looks like a Skinwalker. I don't agree with most of the hatred that Romulus gets. I came in fully expecting it to be crap because most of the Right Wing Film critics I watch said it's a 4 out of 10, only to be about a 7 imo. Same thing happened with Deadpool X Wolverine, I was told it's a mediocre film by the same critics but that one was a hard 8, not the 5 or 6 that they implied. Not that I like Left wing critics any better. I'm just seeing a pattern where Right Wingers like Critical Drinker, Echo Chamberlain, Film Threat etc. will decide that a film is crap because I dunno, they prob thought it was woke. Funny really because Drinker likes the Fallout show & that's woke as F compared to the games. Mr. H is one of the only ones I still watch because although he'll have similar takes as other Right Wing critics, he's a lot more moderate with it & doesn't outright say a film is crap unless it deserves it.
Didn't the studio do something similar back in 1979's Alien? Ripley makes it to the escape pod and for all intents and purposes it is over. But Ridley introduces this finale of ejecting the alien out the airlock. Point being the studio heads had to be convinced that there had to be this final finale after the big escape destruction scene
Well he clearly is doing something he is passionate about (Avatar) instead of wasting his time doing something he doesn't want to do (like another Alien or Terminator movie directed by him)
Bloomkamp was trying to undo the junk that was Alien 3 and Cameron hated that they threw away his characters so makes sense he'd be behind it. Wish it had happened.
I think it was a big mistake. We need a director's cut with another ending. I think there are three options: 1. Cut the scenes. No injection, no birth, no "Blade 2-Xeno-Human hybrid". Kind of a happy ending with the 3 remaining. 2. The Trilobite. If you want to keep the black goo, make the creature a Trilobite like beast from Prometheus. I think the circumstances are close enough and more fitting than a baby in a capsule that grows up to be the creepy version of a Engeneer-Newborn combination. 3 The Cocoon. My favourite. I loved the scene of the molding alien. Either shorten the first or give me another one. Cut Andy's commentary of Kay not being infected. Cut the injection. Let Andy and Rain get back to the ship, finding Kay with a bursted chest, then finding a shed skin and let's have the fightsequence with another Xenomorph crawling out of it's cocoon. I think Fede Alvarez is a huge Alien fan and there were some awesome elements in the movie. But I have had enough of Non-Xeno-Aliens and I think it takes away from it. If you think the same about the ending of the movie we should let him know. Maybe he would change it with a director's cut. And this would make the movie amazing, in my opinion.
Yeah, they should make alternate cut. Fox should demand to do that rather listening to him. Everybody I met dislike that scene, they should do xenomorph or that giant squid whatever from prometheus.
I do kind of agree that if you are making a horror film for Disney, and the producers *aren't* having panic attacks and full blown hysterical fits, then you fucked up
This isn't news. He already clarified this, in that 'Ain't it Cool News' interview, years ago. Stated he no longer had any desire to play around in someone else's sandbox, where there would be other people telling him what he is or isn't allowed to do. These comments just repeat that. If he has any desire to go down the horror path, he can do it with something new he creates for the 'Avatar' continuity (either in a sequel or spin-off project). He completely owns it and would have total freedom.
I don't hate Avatar, in fact i enjoyed when i saw it as a kid on cinema. That said, 7 movies it's totally unnecesary. Hope some day Cameron get back with an original sci fi movie or an action movie. Even his project about Hiroshima looks promising.
My main problem with the hybrid is that theres no reason in this movie for it to look like an engineer like yeah maybe it works with prior knowledge of the prequels but this movie doesnt set it up that way. even with knowledge of the prequels the black goo makes no sense, in Prometheus the beginning of the movie shows the engineer using the black goo to create humanity so why cant the black goo be produced from humans rather then use the the very dangerous xenomorphs. I do like that if the goo had to come from somewhere it came from the xenos, reminds me of the royal jelly from the comics that way but if it does come from xenos and not the engineers shouldnt the hybrid look like a human alien not an engineer alien.
Here are my predictions: 1 Alien: Romulus: $18 million 2 Deadpool & Wolverine: $16 million 3 It Ends With Us: $11 million 4 Blink Twice: $9 million 5 The Crow: $7 million
Love Alvarez's attitude towards Disney and "should we or shouldn't we do this?" A truly unique voice, that HAS to go his own way. He may stumble now and then, but when he succeeds.. And wouldn't it be cool of Yvaga is.. the Engineers home-world, OR, better still. the original world of the black goo (however that evolved..)
I'm actually fine with James Cameron not coming back to the Alien Franchise. He can make his Terminator graphic novel and his Avatar movies. He has disappointed me with his comments and praise to Terminator Genysis being the real third entry to Terminator II, then he changed his stance again with Terminator; Dark Fate and killed off John Conner and even wrote the script to that movie and stated that this is the real third entry to his Terminator II movie and adds insult to injury by dismissing Terminator 3; Rise of the Machines and Terminator Salvation as added piss to his property. I like those films and I think they're fine. The guy is 70 years old and doesn't care about anybody or anything and he can go on his merry way. I don't want him in anymore Alien movies. Not if he's going to act like that.
I like it from a story telling point of view because it solidifies another species (ie the actual space jockey) involvement but abhor it from a design perspective it's just derpy as f@ck looking
Yes a slender man almost like an engineer but with human 💀 but it's amazing how it went from a baby just hatched to a full grown 10 feet tall alien in only a minute.
That's probably why a lot of people hate it. It reminds them of Prometheus & Covenant. I didn't like those movies either but at least Romulus made the Jockeys look scary by making them resemble a Skinwalker instead of Classic God of War Kratos.
Gladly. I still love Aliens, but I don't believe he can pull another one off. And he probably made Xenomorphs too weak in his film, making them less of a threat
As far as Alvarez i can see why the Offspring is what it is. .. it can make us think that refinement of this process could CREATE the LV-223 Engineers. I would rather have not had it so other aspects could be fleshed out.... leave the Offspring/Kay for a Sequel. But in getting it... i would rather have seen a Hybrid more like a cross between the unused Fifield concepts and Eldon from the Fire and Stone Comics. Or have Kay Molt into a Hybrid Body Burster like from Gibsons Alien 3.
Why do I get the feeling, this "Paradise" in a hypothetical sequel might just end up being where David went? Don't get me wrong...I love David as a character...he was one of only things I really liked about the prequels. I don't even despise the prequels. I just think they're meh compared to most of the original films (and now Romulus as well). As much as I'd love to see David return; With R. Scott likely staying onboard, it would likely be more like the third entry to the prequels and less like a sequel to Romulus. If they could make an Alien movie with David instead of a David movie with Aliens...It could work, but doubt it would go that route.
The only film directors that hav still got their marbles left are the Coen brothers Robert Rodriguiez Stephen King David Croenberg Steven Spielberg Quentin Tarentino and John Carpenter
I don't see the surprise. His film in the series was great but he hasn't been involved since. Furthermore he committed to 5(!?) Avatar movies as his primary focus, is producing others (Alita 2 please), and apparently as we learned/were reminded from the Oceangate Titan submersible incident is an expert in submersible. It's interesting hearing his thoughts, but it doesn't surprise me that he has moved on.
Leave Cameron to his own projects now, pretty sure he said that he could do TWO Avatar trilogies, and since they are basically a licence for him to print his own money, who can blame him? For a sequel, I think the arrival to Yvaga opens up some potential ideas: 1) Yvaga turns out to be tidally locked, and Rain + Andy crash-land on the dark side. When they wake up, they find they're not alone there (although this would basically be a re-do of Pitch Black/40 Days of Night). 2) They arrive at Yvaga..... And David is already there up to his old tricks (would allow Fassbender to return and finish the David trilogy). Just a few spur-of-the-moment ideas I came up with there, if I put more time into it, I'll come up with some better ideas 😁
Reality is... Jim would have seen how ordinary both Ridley's second round of Alien films with his 'prequels' and while they have their moments, not in the same universe as ALIEN. ALIENS ... is regarded as a great sequel and I doubt even Jim could make a better film, not to mention all the projects he has on board he wouldn't have the time!
I thought Cameron was busy doing his Avatar films for years and years anyway so am not surprised he's not coming back to the Alien franchise. I think he should have listened to Disney and not have another hybrid at the end but it didn't ruin the film it was great.
The ending truly has a massive divide for fans it's quite nice to see really. I to lost it at the 15 minutes mark that was a stupid choice by the lady, a stupid way it was birthed and it looked like a retarded alien/engineer sasquatch I almost laughed out loud at (I did laugh when the little pistachio nut popped open and the lil baby peeped out such a stupid stupid scene
Alien romulus is a damn solid alien movie, very well filmed, and the ending was what was needed . Cameron is focused on his dream work avatar . Cameron himself said he is more about families in his movies , and doesn't like the endings of alien where everyone is killed except one survivor. That's the whole point of alien movies
Never say never. I like James Cameron I'm a fan with all of his film. I get it he is a busy guy 23 projects is alot. Who knows maybe he will have a change of heart.
The ending was far from the worse part of the movie. The extremely rapid growth of the hybrid was a bit much, but ultimately it was a really good, creepy, and unique take on the alien pathogen.
I believe they are probably gonna tie Rain and Andy into that final ridley film he planned to do after covenant called Paradise maybe when they arrive David is there and already turned that once Beautiful world into a nightmare
I am actually glad, I would hate for him to do a bad one, and ruin his Alien legacy.

You can thank Ridley Scott for that aborted collaboration. He wasn't willing to share the spotlight with Cameron.

Alien is better though.
And Ridley Scott has made three of the best alien films😊

In fact, they were supposed to produce a new trilogy until the "woke" franchise retcon Terminator : Dark Fate bombed with paying fans, failing to be (Hollywood) profitable.

There's a huge paradox in the alien being the perfect organism, but when it recombines with a human it picks the dumbest traits to adopt
Not.
I agree to your final thoughts. Not having the planet be a lush heaven would be too predictable
We need new blood directors...Ridley is beyond disappointing..he got old....find lean..find hungry....

James Cameron would make an Alien movie about how acid pollutes the oceans 😂
Too true
That's why it's so frustrating to place a new movie chronologically between the first two films. If this one gets a sequel, and that sequel gets another sequel, we'll end up with a timeline running parallel to the second, third, and fourth parts. The films on that parallel timeline would have to constantly stay in line with the original trilogy and Resurrection. Of all the possible directions for a new Alien movie, the director just had to go with a filler that feels like a compilation of all the previous Alien films. The story involving Xenomorphs could have easily taken place in a more distant future, without having to directly tie into the first four movies.
Ridley scott are the one who demand prequel in the first place and we now got this timeline mess
What I'm learning from people in these comments is that they don't understand the difference between producing and directing.
Or writing.
Seconded
Not surprising at all because Ridley is still in charge and he was not a fan of Cameron's lore that changed the way eggs were made. There's a deleted scene from 1979 Alien shwoing how eggs were made and it was NOT a queen. Ridley wants control of his baby, it's not that complicated.
Ridley is not creator of alien franchise. It's not his baby. He just director to hired for alien (1979)
Creator of alien is Dan O'Bannon but his script is too B movie so Ronald Shusett was hired to fixed the script.

I didn´t know another ALien installment from Cameron was ever subject of consideration lately.
Im with Mr. H. Love the idea of Yvaga being exactly what they think it is, having them destroy it.
One route they can go is, if they didn't eject Kay's body into space her body with the serum still in her body continues to mutate her body once they get to their destination and she transforms into some type of queen alien.
I expect she transformed into abomination creature like lab mouse did in the video but instead they copy prometheus again.......

Great film!

Ridley Scott shouldn't return either
Agreed. Unfortunately the surviving partner at Brandywine has granted him a great deal of control over their IP.
So now it is not only ridley scott but james cameron as well? Let go that alien 5 crap lol
I think it was a big mistake.
We need a director's cut with another ending.
I think there are three options:

Here are my predictions:
1 Alien: Romulus: $18 million
2 Deadpool & Wolverine: $16 million
3 It Ends With Us: $11 million
4 Blink Twice: $9 million
5 The Crow: $7 million
We need Blomkamp!
Oh thank goodness
Love Alvarez's attitude towards Disney and "should we or shouldn't we do this?" A truly unique voice, that HAS to go his own way. He may stumble now and then, but when he succeeds.. And wouldn't it be cool of Yvaga is.. the Engineers home-world, OR, better still. the original world of the black goo (however that evolved..)
Its all that Nitrogen left in his brain from all those super deep dives, Ridley doesn't have that excuse 🤣🤣🤣

The offspring is a lot more palatable when you realize it resembles an engineer
I like it from a story telling point of view because it solidifies another species (ie the actual space jockey) involvement but abhor it from a design perspective it's just derpy as f@ck looking
The newborn from Resurrection looked like a pile of dung with eyes and a mouth. The offspring in Romulus was an effective reworking of the same idea.
Exactly!
Agree with you on the way a potential sequel should go. Make the humans the real monster…
Gladly. I still love Aliens, but I don't believe he can pull another one off. And he probably made Xenomorphs too weak in his film, making them less of a threat
The Offspring ruled. Nuff said
I've got a funny feeling Bloomkamp might get the ALI5N greenlight. Romulus giving the execs confidence.
Yvaga turned into Planet Alien(Xenomorph) Was once a beautiful Rain Forest planet then turned into a 'homeworld' of sorts for the Alien(Xenomorph).
For a sequel, I think the arrival to Yvaga opens up some potential ideas:
1) Yvaga turns out to be tidally locked, and Rain + Andy crash-land on the dark side.
@horuslupercal2385 I wouldn’t mind fassbender returning but with covenant losing money I doubt we’ll ever get it
Thank god
Reality is... Jim would have seen how ordinary both Ridley's second round of Alien films with his 'prequels' and while they have their moments, not in the same universe as ALIEN. ALIENS ... is regarded as a great sequel and I doubt even Jim could make a better film, not to mention all the projects he has on board he wouldn't have the time!
I thought Cameron was busy doing his Avatar films for years and years anyway so am not surprised he's not coming back to the Alien franchise. I think he should have listened to Disney and not have another hybrid at the end but it didn't ruin the film it was great.
Avatar could use a vial of black goo to make that series more interesting. Basically looks like the same universe anyway
Am I the only one who really liked the last scene?
You are weirdo because fans want xenomoroh or at least hybrid xeno
@@boboboy8189 wouldn’t make sense cause the hybrid was created differently not from black goo
Scot needs to stay away as well
Romulus' 3rd act was a flop. It gave me an Alien Resurrection vibe with Prometheus ideas...
Wasn't a flop for me. I dug it.
Seconded, even though I loved the film overall.
I actually liked the final act. I think it was terrifying and will help push the franchise to the next phase which it desperately needs to do.
I think The Abyss was the closest thing I would consider a flop. Still did well but not as well as his other films.
Needed? 😂naa that ending ruined what was otherwise a topnotch alien movie. We don't need anymore survivors in alien movies either
Bro what? That ending was one of the worst parts of the movie.
Ending could have been cut completely. People laughing out loud in theater. I'm done with this clown show.
@@MANTRAPLAYSGAMES people gasped during my viewing. So it works...
@@sebraven it's fine , it's Force Awakens: Alien edition
Having the Big Chaps awakening , rampage and death off screen was a frickin' war crime
Neil Blomkamp/Oats Studios has has done F ground breaking work since his first entry with 'Tetra Vaal' etc... He needs a break!
Good for him…Avatar is making crazy money and the sequels will make a ton more. He has other projects he wants to move on to.
Never say never. I like James Cameron I'm a fan with all of his film. I get it he is a busy guy 23 projects is alot. Who knows maybe he will have a change of heart.
23 project but for the last 15 years he only did 3 project
The ending was far from the worse part of the movie. The extremely rapid growth of the hybrid was a bit much, but ultimately it was a really good, creepy, and unique take on the alien pathogen.
He's having some kind of prolonged mental episode.
I believe they are probably gonna tie Rain and Andy into that final ridley film he planned to do after covenant called Paradise maybe when they arrive David is there and already turned that once Beautiful world into a nightmare
