- 360 photography with motorized pano heads: in this product review and tutorial I show you how you can use MIOPS Capsule Pro Pan-Tilt pack for shooting 360 panorama photos.
MIOPS capsules are great for product photography and creative videography, but this time I focus on using two Capsule Pros and an L-Bracket Pro to build a setup to capture images for 360 virtual tour projects.
I show you my method step-by-step, how you can set it up for the best use of this device.

Every time interesting things ) just amazing , thanks again I think some difficult to find best solution and you explain) Great Thanks) 👍
Thank you! 🙌
hi :) it's cool but I agree with the cons you pointed, also it's not cheap ... did you know you can easily patch the nadir shooting an off axis photo and use the viewpoint correction option in "ptgui pro" or "panoramastudio pro"
Hi,
Thanks for sharing this trick! I didn’t know it, and always edited in Photoshop. But it sounds promising! 👏🏻
i've done this. it's foolproof but it does work well
Hi mate, I’ve recently acquired the LUMIX s5 2, could you recommend an L-mount fish eye lens for it? Thanks
Hi,
Unfortunately I don't have experience with "native" fish-eye lenses for Panasonic, as I mostly work with Canon lenses with an adapter. Or i use this Samyang 8mm, you can see in this video, too.
I think it's one of the best lenses in this lower price range, bt of course, for your full-frame camera I'd recommend to pick a 12mm fish-eye lens.
I also have some experience with L-mounts from Nodal Ninja, but my SV360 Panohead also works fine, and it's not as expensive as the competitors. Although, it's a Middle-European brand, and I don't know much about their shipping conditions. Anyhow, , if you're looking for a manual L-mount, Nodal Ninja has some nice ones.
Hi, :) do you think this would work with a 14mm lens? (interiors mostly) Thanks!
Hi,
I only tried this one lens, which I usually use for virtual tour shooting, but in the MIOPS app you can add any lens, and it will calculate how many images you need with that certain focal length. So it must be working with a 14mm, too.
Hi, I have just ordered the Capsule Pro, it should arrive sunday, I wanted to use it in timelapse project, but was wondering if it would do 360 panos, I use a NN Mecha with my Nikon Z7 and a 35mm lens, so MIOPS will be easier to handle with a phone app, but can I adjust the camera position to the nodal point?
Thanx
Did you order a bundle like this or only one capsule?
With this setup finding the perfect nodal point depends on your camera body. I could make it with my MILC but had some issues with the DSLR Canon.
So it needs to be tested with each setup for ourselves.
Anyhow, the difference from the perfect nodal point seemed to be so small in my case with Canon, that finally it didn’t affect the stitching process. So give it a try, and I hope it will work for you, too.
Hello, czn you tell distance that you can control capsule ? It is to use for wildlife photography, need to be away if camera. Do I other application for shooting and see what i shoot ? Thanks for video !
It’s connected wirelesly like most of the cameras and action cams, so basically it works in a room or around 5-10 meters outdoors.
I think it’s not enough for such cases, while it might be a little bit too loud for wildlife photography when your subject is close to the camera.
nobody wants these pics anymore but this thing is great
(nobody wants ... ) Maybe you refer to 360° imagery for fun (with consumer 360 cameras).
For business 360° images are a thing from 1995 when quicktime vr came out.
The real problem is image quality and resolution. Today we have high resolution monitors and smartphone screens and 360° consumer cameras are very low resolution. Resulting in blurry images\videos.
Marketing company do not explain that a 5.6K 360° video is not enought to cover 1:1 pixel in all direction in a 4k flat monitor, the same for 360 pictures. So people think these images are bad and useless.
You need DSLR workflow. For this reason my 360° images are at least 450 megapixel, complex workflow (about 120 stitched pics) but huge wow effect for business clients.
@@ag360it I mean no businesses want 360 pics
It is a niche product
