  • Did you see that crema?! This machine really does impress! If you love delicious coffee but you’re new to making specialty coffee at home, this machine’s for you. The digital display guides you through every step. The machine grinds your beans, tamps your grinds perfectly, and pulls your shot of espresso at the right temperature and pressure. Espresso is just the beginning. Make a great americano, latte, macchiato, or other specialty coffee by following the on screen, step-by-step instructions. You can even personalize your own recipe and give it a name. Now that’s smart! Oh, and if that wasn’t enough, you can select between dairy, soy, almond and oat milk, and it’ll texture your milk perfectly and automatically. This is the future of specialty coffee. For the best experience, make sure to always use locally and freshly roasted coffee beans (ideally used from 5 to 30 days from roast date). #specialtycoffee #espressomachine #espresso #Breville #BaristaTouchImpress #MasterEveryMoment #PropellerCoffee #shorts

    i like this new machine. i have the previous model without the automatic tamp and the ribbed bean container... but i did get it for $540 new so im not gonna complain. small learning curve but im still experimenting with it.

      I love the machine as well. I think with or without the automatic temp it works really well. And about the learning curve, I’ve been making coffee for ages and I feel like I’m always on a learning curve. 😂 That’s just me going down rabbit holes. Thanks for commenting and sharing your experience. Have a super day and here’s to a good cup of coffee!

      You did not tasted that shot right ? So don't go saying anything just because it's not in the theoricall golden zone.
      Also the extraction might be speed up a bit on the video, see how fast the drop let are at the end

      For the folks following this thread, I just wanted to give you a little update. I’m by no means a coffee professional, but this is how I look at things. The grind setting number changes for me often. It all depends on the type of beans, how they were roasted and how fresh they are. My typical setting is somewhere between 12 and 15. I’ve gone as low as nine and as high as 18. That number also often changes when I’m changing the bag of coffee because it’s likely that the new beans will have different properties. This is just my two cents worth. 😃 All the best and happy coffee drinking.

      You might already know this and I hope I’m not wasting your time. For a full mug I usually do Americano style. For this machine I place the mug under the portafilter and pull a double shot of espresso, and then it carries on filling the rest of the mug with hot water. It’s not everyone’s cup of tea, but I love it.

      If I may as I just got it like twod days ago so let me give youa brief observation. It's a great little machine in the morning IF you're OK with the grind being a little temperamental.
      One day I had it say dialed in at #21 on the grind and it pulled a perfect 30 second shot. Next shot I pulled in the evening it said it's too fine and need to adjust to a coarser grind. Not by much mind you maybe up to #23. Ok it's all set and came out perfect.
      Next morning not having touched any of the settings I go to pull a shot and it's says the grind is too coarse and I need to adjust it finer. Arghh! OK BACK TO 21..and ao it goes back and forth.
      If you can handle the little quirks then it's a fantastic machine. Nothing is perfect as much as these review like to make it. If you make a perfect shot and know the amount of grinds in the portafilter BEFORE pulling a shot ignore the machine.
      Enjoy m

      getting lots of crema is as simple as using very fresh beans as in days after roasting. Not that lots of crema is necessary desirable but it is a signifier of fresh beans

      @Photosandfood  7 місяців тому

      @@cgriffiths84 hey there, because the machine is quite automated I’m not sure I can answer all your questions. Brew time is usually between 25 and 30 seconds. for the grind size I usually have it somewhere between 10 and 13 on the electronic digital setting. But that depends a lot on the beans I’m using. I’m not sure this completely helps you but that’s what I have.

  • @andrewtaylor9704
    @andrewtaylor9704 5 місяців тому

    I have same experience as everyone else; fresh beans from Sage subscription; takes about 15 "grind" presses to fill the basket, then brews for a minute and gives cold 5g of coffee out. This is grind size 30. Customer service are hopeless, days to get hold of them and then they send out descaler. Absolute crock of shit.

    • @Photosandfood
      @Photosandfood  5 місяців тому

      That does sound odd. I’ve had a good experience with them as far as I can tell. You sound like you’re quite knowledgeable, so this suggestion may not be useful at all and I apologize for that. My grind size for fresh medium roast beans is usually around 13 to 15. The machine then pulls a shot between 25 to 30 seconds. At grind size 30 on my machine, the grinds would be very course and the shot would come out very fast. Once again, you’ve probably tried all things, but I wanted to share my experience with you. I hope things work out for you. All the best.

    • @andrewtaylor9704
      @andrewtaylor9704 5 місяців тому

      @@Photosandfood thanks anything less than 30 and the portafilter is choked. I suspect (but can't get CS to confirm) that my grinder isn't griding for most of the time, hence I'm having to 'grind' many more times than expected for intelligent dosing to get the right tamp level. You can't dose without tamping so it's packing 15 layers of coffee in stead of two doses for examples. I don't know if I should get a WDT tool to redistribute the dose and re-tamp OR if I should order a new upper burr. I saw one video where both burrs looked identical but the machine would work with one and not the other.
      I wish I could just send the whole thing back but the CS wait time is outrageous. I can't spend every day on the phone to them.

    • @andrewtaylor9704
      @andrewtaylor9704 5 місяців тому

      Just a quick one; in this short you seemed to get an accurate dose from one grind; is this reality or did you grind multiple times for green line?

    • @Photosandfood
      @Photosandfood  5 місяців тому

      @@andrewtaylor9704 I usually only have to dial-in when I change the bag of coffee. Once it’s set to the green line, I can usually rely on that setting for the entire bag of coffee. Sometimes there might have to be an adjustment if I’ve let the coffee go for three or four weeks in which case I have to make the grind a little finer. But I believe this is normal with most coffee. For the most part it’s worked really well. The coffee itself matters a lot… I occasionally had a gift of a coffee bag that has likely sat on the shelf for eight months. Very often I’ll have to go quite course because the coffee is old.

    • @andrewtaylor9704
      @andrewtaylor9704 5 місяців тому

      @@Photosandfoodthanks so it's normal for you (once you've configured a new bag) to hit 'grind' and it gets a green line on first dose? For me I'm dosing a minimum of 10 times to get a green line.

      When I had the grind setting at 15 it wasn’t even pouring the shot out. Now I’m somewhere around 18 and it’s pouring out but the volume of coffee I’m getting isn’t close to the amount you’re getting in the video. It’s a very small shot. With kind of a sour taste. The beans I’m using are still within the 30 day window(roasted last week) and I’m using the double walled basket. So I’m not sure what I’m doing wrong 😢

    • @sdcisaac

      And I have it on the double setting. And I tried doing a custom setting on the Americano to get more coffee but I’m still not getting a lot. Also this a brand new machine, I got it last week. That’s about all the info I can think of at the top of my head. Thank you!

    • @Photosandfood
      @Photosandfood  7 місяців тому +2

      @@sdcisaac I would try it with the single wall large basket. That’s the only one I use. The double wall is usually used for older coffee and to create more pressure. At least that’s what I’ve been told. The single wall should in theory let the shot run faster. Specially because you’re using freshly roasted coffee… you should need the double wall.
