- Here's a quick list of 20 tips I think are useful if you get started in Stalker Anomaly : Escape from Pripyat new 3.0 update!
Nothing crazy, just some simple guides and advices and how to survive and some sneaky game mechanics.
Escape from Pripyat is an absolutely amazing mod but with a steep learning curve, hope this tutorial helps!

If you're a hoarder like me, don't combine flasks of water in your inventory to try and tidy things up. It ends up consuming the extra flask and then you will have fewer to fill with the dirty water to boil.

EFP 3 made me come back to stalker and I'm really enjoying my game as a military guy trying to take over cordon from those pesky loners
You can't because it's bad for Sid's business and he paid big money long before your anomaly character arrived in the zone.. Uncle sid is boss.
Yep I was roleplaying a military dude who’s objective was to take control on the northern checkpoint, went from garbage to cordon, as soon as I peeked out of the house I got domed by a bandit immediately. Really tied the experience together 😂
Escape from parts items 3: You can (not) craft
Dirty water can also be purified and drunk without consequences! Just walk close to the fire, like when you want to cook raw meat, and click "boil".

I had also discovered this on my own. I was at a campfire testing the quality of roasted meat compared to cookware meat, and I thought to myself "I should be able to boil the water too, let me just right click this flask and.." BAM! No more wasting charges on the cooking kettles.
Getting the anomalous bread can be helpful when you're in base hanging around doing chores/Crafting ( you need the -23 rad container), or when you sleep. With it, you basically don't have to eat food.
I return years later to replay stalker mods once again. I must say, you're doing Guide's work by helping us newbies get a foothold in the mods! Thanks my guy!

Cheeki my man. Please, your guides have been my life-blood to starting in this game. I'm late to the party, and so far you're the one who has most extensively covered anomaly in a way that a newcomer can catch on.
I would absolutely love it if you did a playthrough similar to Sixx's Bunker's playthrough, where you explain as you go and make choices that someone who is playing for the first time should probably make in their own playthrough.

@@CheekiBreekiTv If I may, another suggestion: I think there's a crucial video that's missing for anomaly, for a viewer who is completely naive. Raycevik's CoC video is an example, but it isn't from someone experienced with all of Stalker, and then specifically Anomaly.
Past that, I think there is a lack of content to broadly convey how to play this game. How to approach it. For example: I've never started a playthrough that isn't on Loner. I don't know the implications of starting elsewhere, I don't know how to play from the perspective of another faction, let alone how to "typically" play with another starting point.
I don't know if I'm conveying it properly, since they're distinct videos. But in general, conveying the series in a non-intimidating way.
Another smaller suggestion: I think there are many settings that a new player can configure, without having to completely gut entire mods or systems from the game/EFP.
Examples: much higher carry weight, payouts from doing missions, much lower impact of faction standing. 5% on any degradation mechanics. A mod that adds text to HUD icons.
Things like that. If this is too much for just you to do, I would collaborate. But put it on the scene, more people should play this game without being met by "don't talk to me or my kid again until you play every single game in the rest of the series, and btw, git gud". As I've said before, I really appreciate your content and your style, and I can't wait to see what you produce :)
Great stuff! Couple of additional points:
- Aside from tools, stashes will also show up purple if they contain a drug-making kit or gunsmithing tools.
- For wooden lockboxes crates, you can open them using an axe (it removes quite a lot of durability from the axe in the process), so definitely do that for the rifle/armoury crates since their locks are otherwise tough to break. Cool point about being able to get skeleton keys from lockboxes, didn't know that so thanks!
- Was gonna say "boil the water over the campfire" but someone beat me to it :P eating cooked mutant meat doesn't always make you sick - it seems to be a bit of random chance combined with a build-up of toxins (i.e. if you eat quite a lot in a short period, you're more likely to get sick, but sometimes it can just happen anyway). As you said, medicine like activated charcoal, antibiotics and a couple of others will sort that out. Under NO CIRCUMSTANCES should you eat raw meat, it absolutely chunks your health if you do, besides making you sick as well, of course.
- Weapon parts under 60% condition CAN be repaired, but you will need a part repair kit to do it, which is very expensive to buy and very hard to find. Generally, I'd sell parts under 60% in the early game and only stash 60%+ condition parts, but later on - when you've either got the money to afford it or have played long enough/gotten lucky enough to find a part repair kit - you can hold onto parts below 60% that you really need for a weapon you want to fix up, and use part repair kits to do that.

Maybe I'm doing something wrong but I have an axe (basic one ~11k) and a wooden rifle crate I want to open. I tried dropping the crate on the ground and bashing it many times. I have also tried dragging the axe onto the crate in my inventory. After about 4 tries at that the axe is broken and disappears, but nothing happens to the crate. Any input?
@@gauge1127 Sadly I have no idea, not had this issue before. The axe will lose durability, but you should still be able to open the crate.
On the topic of artifacts, a incredibly good early game one would be thistle. It cuts your raw gun damage in half BUT instead converts it into bleed and increases the rate, pretty drastically I might add, that enemies will go down in a wounded state or surrender. It also gives a extra 20 some odd kilo of carry weight.
Also, I highly recommend, if your starting a new playthrough, pick clear sky. They start with access to a combat backpack as one of their starting items (Second best backpack in the game) as well as only being enemies with 3 other factions that everyone else also hates.
Hey using Thistle sounds interesting. I kinda overlooked it as some "gimmicky" perk but it actually sounds pretty dope. I need to try it out!

Tip from efp 4.0
Starting as a loner always take the sunset suit at the beginning (when you start a new game), then rush for the jellyfish artifact (can be found by doing the Fanatic's basic missions) and run to xenotech to get the armor upgrade that enables the suit to equip an artifact
That's Is very useful to keep down the radiation, expecially on a trip or near a campfire without using too many resources
(Jellyfish properties = -2 rad/s)
Tip: use low condition outfit materials for crafting. (eg. Make kevlar plates from even 0 condition materials)
You can purify dirty water over a campfire. No cooking items needed.
Great video, thanks! I usually take mags from dead bodies and carry them until closest stash, the unloading on stash is immediate.
Hmmm... how do you do to unload them immediately to a stash?
@@CheekiBreekiTv If the magazines are in the stash, loading/unloading them is instant. It's an option for the Magazines mod, enabled by default.

I was watching your Invictus series and noted that you had a similar problem of trying to identify what faction an NPC belongs to. There's a really useful mod which identifies the faction someone belongs to and shows up as an icon in the bottom right hand corner. The further someone is away, the longer it takes to identify, so I find it to be pretty immersive and a sense check when I can't tell because of the HD models.
yes I think it's called Crook's faction ID, I definitely need to try it out!

If you want to level survival a bit faster than usual, pick the TOZ-66(the full one not the sawn off) pick up buckshot and start shooting bandits from faraway(about 60-75M), it will not aggro them as the damage you deal is almost none but because you hit them with multiple pellets it actually counts as XP points which will level you to level 5 quickly
Also, you can boil water next to the fire
man i was soo happy when i first played unmodded anomaly ,was basically all i wanted from stalker ,but these modders just keep one upping each other again and again. EFP seem super indepth ,cant wait to start a playthrough

Some thing i learned while playing is that you don't necessarily need the repair kit to maintain parts,you can also use cleaning kits instead. Although the repair kit has more use time,cleaning kits are much cheaper option and it's good for the hobo period
Oh shit I'm a retard. Cleaning kits are for cleaning guns that you already repaired so you do need repair kits if you want a certain gun or armor

there are a few show stoppers. I was severely unlucky with gatekeeper, I hadn't noticed the quest insta failed and I was almost screwed, there are a couple debug procedures on a moddb forum post that is immensely helpful, I went with the one that basically just had you auto complete it and talk to beard, then rogue, then the gauss gun. Another thing, really don't waste your time trying to refresh the shops, if you get unlucky a few times like i did, something breaks in the game and suddenly they get no new supply, whatever they have will restock but nothing new will ever show up, rep or heavy pockets be damned. Refresh the shop once or twice at the most, don't sit there and keep sleeping trying to roll a good item or another toolkit or somesuch. Also, sell gun magazines to stalkers, really adds up after a bit and they are fairly light for what they are, you need the ammo parts anyway to have a source of "light" ammo you can craft. The ammo parts are seriously super light compared to completed ammo. The Exos are a HELLA big investment and hassle, be aware, and something is up with the recipes for the good exo power supplies, they can easily not show up for the crafting after you read them.
For some early game cash I sell all the weapon magazines I don't need to other stalkers (not traders) for best profit.
Agreed, screw those cz-75 mags.
Another early game tip: when you press right mouse button while not having a weapon drawn you zoom in you view, quite a bit.
Handy if you don't have binoculars yet.
You can actually repair weapon parts that are under 60% but you need a special parts repair kit bought from a technician. It will simply fully repair any part regardless of its condition by adding 99% durability. It is obscenely expensive though (over 55k roubles with like moderate rep).
If you are struggling with money in early game as loner, you can take the companions you get with wolf's task tourist safari and easily complete the kill mutants tasks he and fanatic gives (also the hostage rescue ones). Then you can hoard a little meat and mutant parts to sell to Butcher in Garbage. He pays handsomely for those things.
Since you are selling to butcher, buy his water bottles because it's cheaper than Sidrovich flasks and restore more of the thirst bar. His 12x70 and 12x76 ammo are cheaper too. Not to mention the hunting knife he sells.
A hunter stalker is a wealthy stalker.
I do that as well has download the mod that moves the flee market traders under the same roof at butcher.

I'm actually impressed with how mutant parts are implemented in EFP 3.0. I went in thinking it was a silly idea but the more I played the more I realized that this is basically the same system Witcher 3 uses for trophies/mutagens.
2:16 You can boil the water by right clicking on it while you stand next to a campfire or you can use purification tablets on them.
This makes individual flasks pretty valuable early game, since you can refill each of them individually by standing next to a river source (The Singular Puddle in Cordon!)
BEWARE! DO NOT COMBINE THE FLASKS! It will merge the water but you won't get back the empty flasks!

Great video. Do you happen to know how to disable the enemy health bar system that pops up once you deal them some damage? Although its useful in combat, its immersion breakig which i find annoying sice i didnt have to deal with that in previous anomaly mods
It's somewhere in the game options if I'm not mistaken!
you can unload magazine directly in enemy stash... goes very fast... if option is turn on
also you should really use old ammo and beated up looted gun and save up the good stuff until you have a good stash of them or gunsmithing tool
What other artifact combos are good. Especially with armour for non combat

the most valuable thing in my start with nothing playthrough is that stalkers will pay me a ton for empty mags , radioprotectant to refill canteens is cheaper than buying more water and if your feeling cheesy you can dupe the water flasks , campfires heal you so i try to stand around them and sort my gear .

Anyone knows if we can change the background color of the inventory? I find it too dark and usually have to look at the sky or towards fire in order for it to illuminate my darker items.
Really good video. But how I learn to craft ammo? And it doesn't look cheaper than buy ammo from trader in any way.
Havn't played EFP in a while and there's been a huge update since so I'm not sure, but you should be able to do it after finding gunsmithing tools.
And you basically recycle old/damaged or ammo for weapons you won't use to craft the ammo you need so it's pretty much free. Probably won't cover all the ammo you need and you'll still have to buy some, but yeah, it doesn't cost anything.
I have a question I've bought a rifle that seems to have 2 optics, I remember that in 2.5 there was a way to swtich optics but here I can seem to find it can someone help?

Can I update my game whilst keeping my save file
I had no idea you could replace gun parts by just having the repair kit for the gun. I thought you needed to pay a technician to use his workbench, have a new barrel in your inventory, and change them. Doh.
You can RMB > field strip any weapon to maintain all its parts with much less expensive tools than repair kits, as long as their durability is >60%
Keep your repair kits for parts below 60%, but more importantly to replace barrels which you can't field strip or repair once they're installed
Ideally try to keep two barrels of each type even if the duplicate is in terrible condition, that way you can swap the >60% damaged one at a vice, repair it from inventory, and swap it back
Repair kits are only last resort, they're not as expensive as buying a weapon but there are way cheaper options if you're organised
Later on you will be able to craft them
In fact crafting in general is absolutely mendatory if you're playing on harder difficulty

Its the regular Agressor one baked into EFP 3.0, didnt change anything!

Story first, and if you want more after doing all the questlines you can try warfare :)

My legs are ALWAYS GETTING FUCK UP. When your not a crack shot IT HARD. Hell even a simple rescue mission have ARMOR DUDE. So how to you fight that with a pistol subgun and shotgun

Yeah it happened to me a couple times, in the main menu go to the "mod configuration menu" under settings, turn off then on again your companion hud. That should fix it.

i turn some off and i get missing graphics icons and the first person view when i have my artifact detector out is cut in half. as a result i can t collect artifacts.

Lock boxes and big wooden crates how do I open them?
You’ll need a lock pick set sold by technicians. Drag and drop individual lock picks onto the set to refill said set. Then drag the lock pick set on top of a locked container to open. Each lock pick counts for 5% of a locks difficulty so say you have a lock pick set with 25% durability, this would mean 5 individual lock picks are in the set. Individual lock picks can also be removed by right clicking on the set. Hope this helps! Nostrovia Stalker!

Escape from Pripyat can only DL from their Discord sever; no VPN's allowed, however without the VPN I cant access Discord. :( Guess I 'm ruled out by default as are many others...
Money making tip, though it might be an exploit, you can sell magazines to random stalkers for a pretty high level of profit, you can sell certain mags for 500 roubles a pop.
I noticed that some stalkers where buying back stuff at pretty decent prices, but definitely not that much ahahh!

A mod for a mod that adds more layers of depth to a game that's already got an onion bag of layers? My mind ain't ready for that yet. I'm still scared of going too far north in normal Anomaly.
Yeah if you're not that experienced in anomaly then don't install this mod yet. Only do it after you complete the storylines

Anything that's not gonna gonna install that needs new save files qly of life stuff should be fine like sound mods and gun animations.
@@Kirbs69 thanks, how do you check if a mod needs new save files? Let's say I want to install the magazine mod.
@@jagermoisen8718 it's usually in the mod page if you look at the info but if there's none just take a look at ones that require new save and see what kind of files they change. I'm not a good at things of this nature but it should work if you put it to perspective. If these kinds of mods requires new game then whatever files it uses should all be the same for other things. Like I said qly of life should be fine as long as it doesn't add intricate things to the game. The simplier the better. Magazines should be fine but double check with the mod auther if you can. I don't want you to ruin your game because of me. As I shouldn't even be answering your question. Moddb is awesome because those people usually have something in there bios and read me files. If in doupt look at the comment section and see if people asked those questions. Have a look at least a few pages before asking because people do get sick and tired of asking those kinds of questions.
@@jagermoisen8718 all I can say is research research research, its tedious but it has to be done. Alot of the things are really easy to know because everything is pretty much all lay out for you you just have to use at least 5minutes of your time just double checking. But to lessen the time of finding out use the idea of if this kind of mod requires new save so other mods of this nature must be the same. I'll send you a community mod list, it's awesome because it'll tell you if it requires new game and it's conflicts (roughly) not all mods are on it but the once that are well liked and has been updated and optimised.
Ok I can't seem to connect to the internet, go to waveys guide on how to mod anomaly there should be a playlist on 1 video he will have the community mod list link there but I also recommend watching it he can breakdown alot of what the mods do and what kind of conflicts can occur

EFP is an amazing modpack, but I hate the no beep, the HD models, and the EFT icons.
possibly mods and ways in the mod launcher to disable. HD models you can, eft icons, maybe ask in discord or check.

disabling reshade and lowering the stalker population may help especially in rostok
Misery and it's consequences have been a disaster for stalker modding. They have greatly increased the parts items number in western stalker mods, but they destabilized the economy of new mods with insanely high prices, have made looting unfulfilling, have subjected stalker players to indignities like overly complex survival mechanics, and led to widespread psychological suffering in the form of minecraft mechanics (in the outright Misery clones to physical suffering as well) and have inflicted severe damage on the nature of the zone. The continued development of Misery clones will worsen the situation. It will certainly subject players to greater indignities and inflict greater damage on the zone, it will probably lead to greater tedium, feature creep and psychological suffering, and it may lead to increased physical suffering even in traditional, story-driven mods.
