You need to clean the pvc line under the intake manifold on the drivers side , disconnect top of the hose and blow air down twards the bottom or put some type of cleaner in the line let sit and then blow air threw , you probably have that oil sludge leaking from bottom of resinater this is a sign of the pvc hose not valve being clogged i had the same problem kept changing canshaft solenoids till i found out what was causing the problem and that was it, i blew air threw mine and never had the problem again the sludge that was leaking from resinater on top the motor stopped to .

Hello. Thanks for helping others. I have tried some of your suggestions but my problem continues. I have a 2005 gmc envoy with 4.2. number 4 cylinder has a constant misfire. I tried changing to different coils and spark plugs but the problem continues. I am hoping it is not the fuel injector. If it is does DIY injection flushing work? Thanks for your help!
it could be the intake manifold these motors are known for the bolts coming loose on the intake close to the firewall, while the motors running shoot some ether behind the manifold toward the firewall if it has a leak it will rev-up then just torque the bolts to spec and hope you dont need to change the gasket.
I got to ask, My trailblazer doesn't throw any codes for something like that but it does idle rough and it's like it has some type of upper end noise. It isn't throwing any codes though and the oil is good. I was wondering if a clogged solenoid can cause something like that like the cam is getting advanced and over time it wore out a lifter.
@@GrimeTimeWithKennydo you think it wouldn't throw a code. It idles pretty good but sometimes it's like it's just not quite as smooth. It's really weird.
You can clear the codes either by scan tool or unhook the battery for 10 to 15 minutes. But make sure all power is drained from pcm by cycling the ignition switch a couple times or press the horn
Did you have a white smoke coming out exhaust before replacement parts? Also not a bad Idea to use dialectic grease on inside of connector? Have same trouble code, bought my 04 Envoy used. Also can a bad cam solenoid cause random misfire? Have code for that, before and after replacing all 6 coil packs and plugs. ( I think it's a good idea! To replace cam sensor as well as c solenoid ). Thank you sir!👍 For this awesome video! 🚙💨💨💨💨
Is it white smoke or steam? If steam it would mean you have a coolant leak. Which would be a head gasket. For the misfire a bad camshaft position sensor could cause that. Is it one cylinder or multiple? I'd change both if you do change them just to eliminate causes for a fair price.
@@GrimeTimeWithKenny it's not steam or water in gas or condensation. It's white smoke, gonna replace map sensor, do to possible calibration issue of injectors putting out to much fuel in one or more of the cylinders. I appreciate your input, thank you.👍
I always just use petroleum jelly cheap and works every time. And it helped the loss of power but still idled rough so I cleaned the throttle body an that worked. I made a video for that too
Thanks for the video. Did it fix the problem? Or did you have to do any other steps to make those parts work? I've heard people talking about having to do a computer relearn and things like that. Hopefully it's just that easy of replacing the two parts. I like dance subscribed I've got two trailblazers I'll probably have them for a while so I need to watch all the videos I can on them
I had to do a computer relearn but that's simple. Just disconnect the battery for 30 minutes. But if I was you and changing the oil I'd do a flush. It might clean sludge out of the solenoid.
@@GrimeTimeWithKenny I was actually thinking that, I just saw some STP engine flush when I was buying the oil and filter tonight. It says add a quart of it and let the truck run for like 10 minutes and then change the oil. And then that's supposed to get all of the grime and sledge out of it. Back in the day I would put some kerosene in and let it run for like 10 minutes to flush the engine sludge out, but being this has the VVT and is sensitive to different types of oil I think I may just use the engine flush.
All right so I flushed the engine and I unhooked the battery for a half hour I put all new engine oil and filter and then hook the battery back up took it around the block and now it runs even worse and the check engine light is flashing so I think I'm just going to have to replace the camshaft position sensor and the other part just like you did in the video I'll let you know what happens after I change all that
