Did you try resetting TCM? I have the exact same issue, the code reader said it was a bad shift solenoid. I replaced the bad solenoid but it continued doing the same thing. I read you can reset the TCM by turning your key to position 2, but don't start it. Then press the accelerator until you hear it click, press through the click and hold the pedal down to the floor. Hold the pedal for 15-20 seconds. While still holding the pedal turn your key back to position one and then release the pedal. Do not remove the key. Sit and wait for about 5 minutes. During those 5 minutes do not turn or remove the key from the ignition, open the doors, use the radio, row the windows down etc. After 5 or so minutes take your vehicle for about a 20 minute drive (500/1000 shifts).
I replaced my valve body and gaskets and replace the plastic valves in the shift valve bodies with the aluminum valves. Yes it was a little expensive but it is working fantastic now. I got mine from A1 transmission off of Amazon. Get the complete kit. Pillow block and harness and the solenoids. Make sure you torque them bolt's to 40 inch and don't over torque them pounds. I did by accident and popped the top off half the bolt's. There are 3 8mm bolt's on the back end of the valve body and make darn sure that you mark where they go back. Otherwise you won't be able to go anywhere because they will go up inside the housing and stop the clutch body from turning. I did that too. I have a 2002 GMC Envoy with the 4L60E transmission. I learned by my mistakes so now you don't have to. Oh and go ahead and soak the valve body gaskets first, there is 2 of them. 1 is against the valve body and then the plate then the transmission gasket. Match up the gaskets to the one's that come off there should be 2 different sets of gaskets that will come in the kit.
Just put in what type of transmission, then what you want. Like "4l60e complete rebuild kits", then just change it up to something else if that doesn't get you where you want.
Did you ever figure it out. I am having the same problem. My abs is on and sometimes it won't go into 3rd or 4th. Lately it's been going into 4th. I think the abs sensor is a safety device that won't allow the transmission to shift. I just bought a 300 dollar scanner today and all I have is abs codes
Its most likely your clutch packs. Unfortunately, its so expensive to replace them that you may as well buy a whole new trans...$3500 with labor. I sold the envoy to ZOOM and bought a new GMC Terrain
Hey my truck is the same as yours and i just got my transmission rebuilt and its running better i think my mechanic said something about my 3rd gear and 4th burnt out and turned out to be the reason why it was skipin and luckily i got it fixed before it broke down on me
@@CarsAndCoffeeKings VSS is tha same??? Mine's not acting quite like his though...1st n 2nd are strong manually but then 3 is lost/floating,,,3rd and 4th both..does same in (D)rive,,1st n 2nd good then it gets lost...speedo is gone as well...ABS is constantly on and Park Brake light comes on when it hits 10mph taking off or rolling...weird stuff..
Yes, sell your vehicle. A rebuilt 4L60E will be close to $5000 after your transmission shop is done with you. I ended up buying a new GMC Terrain and selling the Envoy to ZOOM
@@CarsAndCoffeeKings Hmmm, were are you getting your trans work done at. My 2005 Trailblazer rebuild was $1500 with a lifetime warranty in 2019 and if I have to have the Envoy rebuilt it'll $2200 or less with a lifetime warranty...
I think my transmission is going out because sometimes it just won’t go when you hit the gas the rpms go up but your speed stays the same, I do have 250000 miles but I am thinking about a new trany because I love the car it always starts

Tks man I just went through changing A & B sensors as well and the 03 got worse. Ill try the speed sensor too . Good luck

Hi, what do I type in on Amazon for the complete kit?

I have a 2003 Envoy with a similar problem and it turned out to be the transmission pressure switch
Easy fix
How did you find the problem did you go to someone or can you give tips on how to figure it out I have 2004 same issues
Did you try checking the pressure control switch when you changed out the solenoids
Nah, sold it and got a new 2018 Terrain
Sir did you find any solution for your problem coz i have same problem. Please let me know.
How is your speedometer ? is it jumping all around? then your abs sensors are bad, they are in the front wheels only if your model is 2004.
Does this video pause halfway thru but audio is still there?
Not that I know of
Yes it does sir.
Hey I have a 2004 GMC envoy xl and I'm was driving for work and just went like N nothing in no gear revvv!!!! Like what could it be I need help
maybe a little less talking.. but like the clear camera underneath. Thanks!

How come the video is not on I can just hear you
Change catalytic converter that happened to my and it was clogged I replaced it and it's running fine
Impossible for those two things to be related to each other lol. Your transmission has absolutely nothing to do with your exhaust system.
Would this be same application as on a Trailblazer 2003.??
Yes, 4L60E Transmission

Im just guessing. I think one of your major o rings inside the trans has went out
It's either that or the 3-4 clutch pack
So what was it
sir i have same problem pls if you have found the solution let us know and its will be greate help

I have a similar problem but throttle is good. I believe it's the abs sensor not transmission sensor.
Any updates?
@@redinstrumental7535 culprit was transmission speed sensor. It is installed right on the transmission itself. Easy to replace as well.
Did you ever fix this
Yeah, I sold the Envoy to Vroom for $2500
Mostly because I decided I deserved a new truck. I got a 2018 GMC Terrain.

I wish you had stop talking so we could hear what it's doing
