You mentioned that you had to replace the connector because oil got up into the connector. Could you not have just cleaned the oil out of the connector? Also how far up from the solenoid did you cut the connector off to re splice a new connector on? Or did you replace the entire wire harness?
Just replaced mine on the Trailblazer. Had to pry it out with a few tools, she was stuck in there pretty bad, but mission accomplished. Great video.
i wouldnt have did the new connector just spray cleaned it with electrical spray and blew it out with compressed air.

would you run any type of oil cleaner / solvent before changing the oil, filter and VVT Solenoid to ensure all potential clogs are clear?
