I hope you document the wiring well, thats what I am most daunted of.. Its my first engine swap and I am planning to do the swap from 1979 240 B19A to B230fk

My wiring is going to be completely plug and play. I ordered a custom made LH2.2 / EZK harness specifically made for a 240 from DaveBarton.com.
i have questions! so i have a 240 right now and i’m currently in the process of putting in a 740 like u seem to be doing right now. you took off the head mounted distributor do u have to put the plate back on for it not to leak? i have a sport cam from ipd so it fits but do i have to put that plat on the back and take off the plastics or can i leave it off? sorry if it’s not clear what i mean j know you have to take it off so it will fit.

Not sure what you mean by plastics but yes. Need to remove the head mounted distributor and put in a cam plug over the hole where the distributor used to be. About to upload another video and I’ll explain it better.
I found a 84’ 245 with a B23F, looks great but the kicker is it has 385k miles, is that too much? Saw a b230ft on marketplace for $600 and it looks good, how hard would that swap be? Or I hear I could just move part of the b230ft onto the 385k mile b23f? What do you think

Id run it. My 84 242 had 469k miles on it before i pulled the B23 out. Still had perfect compression and ran great.
Dave Barton sell the 3D printed speedometer, tachometer, fuel and temp it's a kit and you put it over your existing cluster gauges, you'll have to remove cluster, and carefully remove the odometer needle, place the 3D printed piece over your existing gauge and done,I have the exact same one as in Dean Machine, and looks great, I didn't even have to use a heat gun. Price inexpensive too, go to Dave Barton's volvo page, look under speedometer repair, scroll all the way down, and you'll see the many choices
The grey one is looking good!
I just picked up a b230ft motor for my 85 244

Is the head mounted distributor the one for the 16V head?
@@Donnys_speedshop Not sure about 16v but head mounted distributors only came on 740/940 8v engine.
What part of Texas you in? I sure would like to have that bottom end you removed.
Laporte.
Go for a cold air intake, cuz turbo sounds
