- Happy to finally review the Battle Beaver Custom Xbox Series X custom controller build. I had to compare this against some of its major competition coming from Scuf with the Prestige and from Xbox with the Elite Series 2. We get the chance to cover some of the changes coming from the old Xbox 1 controllers into the series x controllers as well. In the end Battle Beaver didn't disappoint with this build. All aspects of this build performed as it should; no stick drift, connection issues, faulty inputs or back buttons.

As a Canadian they are somewhat painful to deal with. Had to pay for duty, which is just annoying....rather just pay it upfront. Also their smart triggers broke twice. The exact same spot and way. Easy enough to fix, but with the warranty being somewhat sketchy on what will be fixed, paying for shipping it back is a big pain.
So confused how scuff hasn’t had a lawsuit lol, they break so easily

After spending nearly 3hrs with support to end up returning my DOA Halo Infinite Xbox Elite Series 2 (dead back button and loose right analog stick with huge dead zone) I looked into Battle Beaver but have to say the fact that their default warranty is only 30days unless you pay them $15 for 120 days doesn't give me much confidence on top of having to wait an estimated 8-10 weeks and pay $170+ for a pretty basic 2 rear button controller. I just wish Xbox would fix their quality control issues for the Elite 2 since I've loved my Elite 1.
Crazy, I’ve got the elite 2 as well and my back button has just started dying on me, I have crazy stick drift also

That sucks dude. Only issue I ever had was the right bumper became very inconsistent in its responsiveness but that didn’t start until I had it for over a year and well over 1000 hours of play time on it.
I wonder how their guarantee would work in European Union, because we have minimum two years of guarantee to all electronic items such as tv's, consoles, controllers, washing machines you name it. Literally two years on everything. I guess it won't apply unless they have distributors in EU. If bought from the US then the guarantees are usually garbage.

That "Origin of Chaos" faceplate is the absolute best. I built a custom controller myself with that faceplate and the extremeRate LOFTY remapping kit. Absolutely beautiful.
My Battlbeaver controllers came DOA 2 times alr. I will NEVER EVER buy another BB products

I have had my Battle Beaver for a year and a half now and my experience has been mostly positive. The actual controller and its functions are out of this world. I had a Scuff for 5 years and the Battle Beaver blows it out of the water. But 1 year in my right hair trigger went out so I had to send back and get a rebuild which took 10 weeks. It came back right in time for Halo Infinite to drop and it performs flawlessly. I highly reccomend this controller if you are going for the performance and dont mind the price of the intitial buy and the price of the rebuild you probably will have to do at somepoint.

I’ve had the razor wolverine ultimate controller for over a year now and I have had zero issues so far. I find it to be a far superior controller to the elite and it only cost £120.
I have and love that controller, but two of the rear buttons stopped registering and don’t click at all anymore. And the left stick drifts now
I have it but i dont like the back button layout, i got smallish medium hands and they feel awkward lol good overall roller zero stick drift though

Did you actually have the option of Smart Bumpers though? I tried looking on their website and only saw that it's only available on the One controllers.
This concerns me because I know several people (including myself) that has had the bumpers (left, right or both) just stop functioning across multiple Series X stock controllers. And this is what they are based on.
I'm wondering if the Smart switch bumpers (if that's ever available) would be more durable.

Xbox elite series 2 is failing me after about 8 months. Left bumper doesn’t register half the time and now my left joystick doesn’t click anymore. So disappointing.

This will be my next controller.. Got lucky to score a “left it in the closet for years” and “played two weeks on it” elite 1 controller. The elite 2 has just to many bad reviews going against it!
This looks really good with all the customization options and durability.
Its pricy though 😅

I've owned many pro controllers.
Smart triggers are okay. It's not a requirement. The tension on the sticks is 100% worth going with BBC. Most people will only play with A and B on two rear buttons so a chip is not required.
The elite v2's only issue I've had is the joystick dead zone is massive. Those sticks are a disgrace. The only way around it is to replace the joy stick module. The potentiometers aren't the issue. The adjustable tension joy stick module is flawed in its design.
If you want a 100% pro controller I recommend BBC 100%. The extreme tension sticks are my favorite for the right stick. I just ordered a new BBC controller. The wait times are decently long but the product you get is 100% quality. My controller was around $220 after shipping I want to say. No remap chip. 2 rear buttons. It comes with a case.
If you want smart triggers you can add them with the clicky mod kit for around 15$.

ive had the elite v2 for over a year now, some left stick drift issues have started and ive noticed rb double presses a lot. been looking into evil and battle beaver cuz the back buttons seem to be the closest to the elite. gonna give these a try soon and hopefully it last an extra year over my elite v2

I waited and bought the Xbox series x controller from battle beaver the day it came out. I've had zero issues with any battle beaver controller unless I dropped /threw the controller
And I can tell you for 100% fact that it’s not the elite series 2 controller’s fault. It’s actually the Xbox series X and Xbox series S fault I have a day one Xbox series X and I have a 2.0 version now and I can tell you for 100% guarantee. If you have they won most of your issues are stunning from that piece of shit consul trade it in and get your new version.

who in their right mind would buy one of these? the price alone for a base 4 button, not to mention 6 button. (6 button controller and stock everything else is 271$!) 30 day money back? thats not very confident. extra 50$ and its 120 money back guarantee.. yippy, so generous. Im not gambling on this.
Im so torn these days, my elite controller series 2 just didnt last like my old elite. Bumper failed on it. The removable paddles is what i need because the battle beaver has fixed back buttons and the way i grip i dont like the fixed buttons , i usually just use one or two on the elites
I had my battle beaver for over 3 years and its just now messing up my left bumper is kinda stuck but 3 years is pretty good
Yeah I think the series 2 controllers got revamped or modified because all retailers just got stock recently and I noticed that the packaging changed from when it first launched. So maybe they fixed some of those problems that they were having originally. I haven’t had any issues with mine yet

Id trade my elite 2 for this one. I dont like that your grip is weaker because of paddles even with two.
You shouldn't be using a pad in a fighting game anyway, so I feel like that's not much of a con as far as the D pad goes.

I dropped one of my battlebeavers after the warranty run out pretty hard though, my R2 button stuffed up on my ps4 battlebeaver i opened it up and replaced the R2 plastic bit that broke with my old ps4 controller it was that easy to replace, and then clicking buttons have never gone out or ever broken, i litreally bash it with my fingers and never had issues! When i had my scuf after 1 week of bashing the R2 button there digital triggers would break!, i think battlebeaver should invest into making the plastic bits even stronger! 🤔 that will impress people all over the world.
Not saying i didnt fix it its been 6 months and still working and no issues I'm really impressed cant wait to review them.
Are the actual joysticks different than stock? I found the new Series controllers have horrible sticks. Didn’t really notice it until playing MLB The Show even though that may sound odd.

If you like that controller and price is an issue, have a quick look at this option > [ PowerA ] copy the words within the brackets, and paste them in Amazon search box.
That being said, I been using them for almost a year with zero problems. They look cool, they have two back buttons, and maybe one with 4 if you want, and they're buttons are remappable on the fly, the cable is high quality, and removable. The back buttons feel great, the quality is amzing for 35 bucks US. Cheers

Can someone please help me? I want to order this controller but do you pick what the buttons are gonna be on the website when you’re creating it? Or can they be any button and you can just assign them when you’re on your computer using it ?
you can get choose how to assign them and you can add a remap chip so you can change them if you want

Do the Buttons have functions like the paddles on elite series 2? Or are they just for Grip? And which material is the closest one to elite series 2? My English is not that good and I don’t understand everything on the battle beaver website
So the scuf instinct pro is cool and all but a year later I’m getting stuck drift like a mfer. I had a prestige and liked it but the paddles break ever 6 months. The instinct pro built in paddles have been great! However stick drift. Also their customer service and delivery times are awful. So I’m really thinking about building a battle beaver but would hate to run into problems with them too. Can anyone give me their input and help me out
their prices have dropped a lot aswell i bought a decently decked controller and it was only $190 even after i bought the fast build subscription
Are the back buttons programable? Say you have it set up on way for COD but want them to be different for Halo can you change them?

The elite is better for me just because I play Fps games as well as MLB the show so I can switch which stick is tensioned.

Word. Scufs are trash. I’ve tried multiple models and got rid of them each time. Always have some sort of issue with their hardware. I might need to check out the BattleBeavers.

I really need help setting up a xbox controller from battle beaver , I got the Xbox X. I use Elite 2 controller and love it but my hands sweat horribly on it plus really bad stick drift. I really am looking for a better set up for my buttons on the back. More comfortable for playing really tight to the controller. Any help is appreciated

only thing they could take note from scuf is the mic mute button on the controller other than that beaver is the best roller to ever exist
If I get this and map the button to l3 and on the Xbox switch the l3 to x will it still work as my run button
the underside buttons should be mappable as additional controls altogether, not just face buttons... bleh

I love my first bb! Waiting on my next one to show up and it’s been over 90 days. I need to send in my first bc one back button sticks pretty bad but have been using it for a year and that’s my only complaint. Will be buying more in the future. Love your vids AB
i have the first elite and have bad stick drift on the left stick every time i leave to do something mid stream it moves it doesn’t bother me while i play so i’m still using it but i’m definitely looking into buying a battle beaver

Have to disagree. I returned my series 2 and so did my friends for the same reason. Paddles are too small. Could not comfortably hold the controller if we wanted to have our fingers comfortably on the paddles. My hands are average their hands are larger.
You could of just purchased the elite one paddles from Amazon. That’s what I did years ago. The original elite paddles are amazing.

I will warn people of battle beavers’ build and shipping time though idk about others but I ordered a ps4 battle beaver in February and I’m still waiting. No emails or contact from them since the week or 2 after ordering. Feels bad man.
Its like an galaxy marble effect an pure beauty, its amazing what few warm and cool colors can make and i don't like scuff aesthetics, like most sane ppl i prefer sleek back buttons on my pro controllers
