All my life I have been a “play station guy” and I got the series S exclusively to play Forza with my friends and I fell in love with my Xbox, I even like the controller better than the dualshock. It is incredibly quiet, fast, and all my stuff is digital so I don’t mind. If you are still thinking if you should get one, go for it, I’m buying the extra space 1TB SSD tomorrow and I know it’s going to be a wicked upgrade.
Hey, great video Wulff Den.This month I upgraded from Series S to X, not because I want to join in the hype of the most powerful console, but I really loved the Series X's combination of power, value and the overall aesthetics on desk and also I got the "lucky notification" a day before Christmas eve, that stock is available and once I completed ordering, its nowhere to be seen. Now, I must say that Series S is no slouch. For the past 1 Year or so I played - Destiny 2, Division 2, The Witcher 3 GOTY, Forza Horizon 4 & 5, AC Valhalla, Ori & the will of the wisps and a bit of Halo Infinite on 1080p/60fps and this console can handle all of these intense games without sounding like a Jet engine or burning down the house with heat. You may rarely feel a bit of difference in textures compared to 1440 or 4k, but any ways that is not what this console is primarily targeting (even though box mentions 1440 as target res), and if you don't game on large screens like above 24 or 27 Inches, the difference I mentioned is not that apparent unless you pixel peep. I also enjoyed Series S as a media player, using it for Netflix, Prime Video, UA-cam, which is an add-on value. I understand that having a disc edition has its own benefit like owning a physical copy of game, but I am fully immersed into digital only revolution like iPhone, iPads, Androids are all digital only (Apps and in-store purchase) and this form of content distribution is only going to grow large in years to come. Also, Gamepass is next level benefit, for which there is no competitor from Sony or Nintendo as of now. For a small fee, the value that Gamepass provide is unbeatable, and Series S ensures that you enter into this ecosystem at a lower cost for hardware, where as if you want to take benefit of similar type, you need a desktop or laptop that costs about 1000 USD or more to get a decent gameplay out of, hardware wise. All in all, if someone is getting into gaming for the first time, or wants a taste of next-gen possibilities upgrading from old console or desktop/laptop, I will highly recommend to give Series S a try. It's worth it !!!

I’ve been having a blast on the Series X. For having it for almost 7 months it’s been my go to next gen console to play games I couldn’t play because I was playing the PS4 all last gen. So getting to play most 360 and all Xbox One games on Series X has been incredible. also I got the PS5 and I haven’t really played a hole lot of it.
Series X yesterday! Coming from OG Xbox One "VCR", it's such a huge upgrade I'm at a loss for words. It feels like a high end gaming PC. I'm happy to say the least. And i almost got a Series S which I still hear is amazing and blows One X away regardless of specs. Lovely Tech

@@FaderFlosser Yeah it would've been a mistake. One X has better Vram, more gpu power and it runs 4k 60fps and it's a last gen system. PC, PS5 and Series X is ideal for next gen gaming
I happened upon an X while randomly visiting Gamestop one day last May. I love this machine. I was looking to upgrade my PC, but for retail price of an X with exclusives versus a new NVidia card at 4 times the cost, I had to pick it up. One of the first games played was Fable, then Fable 2. So much better performance on those fun games. Then I played Ryse because I skipped the xbone generation. Loved that game. Played through the star wars battlefront 2 single player, which was fun. Hades was cool too. Avengers was OK. Witcher 3 is gorgeous. Assassins Creed Valhalla is decent. Destroy All Humans is a blast... Looking forward to the new stuff using Unreal 5 engine. Sold my PS4 because I was done with Spiderman. Really the only game I thought was decent on it.
Just a disclaimer for people trying to find an HDMI 2.1: recently there's been some weird stuff with renaming the standard and some new HDMI 2.0 cables will be renamed HDMI 2.1, I think. I'm not exactly sure how it all is, but it's something along those lines.
It's also worth noting that hdmi 2.1 isn't just a cord thing. If your TV is older than two or three years old it is likely that it doesn't really support 2.1 anyway.
My wife got me the Halo edition Series X and it’s awesome. So far Halo is great!! Just beat the first mission and even got a few achievements. I forgot how fun Halo campaign was!
I was able to grab a Series X via All Access (bots can't pass a credit check) and it was definitely worth it, especially considering I was still using the 1st gen Xbox One VCR edition. It was a great upgrade, and I LOVE quick resume. I might even pick up a Series S just for emulation shenanigans until Sony and Nintendo get their shit together with how they do legacy content on modern consoles.
SX/S is easily the best gaming console ever. I can play all my 360 and xbox one games plus with emulation, you can even play nes-ps2 games and I belive even some ps3 game will run on the system as well.
I just got an Xbox S, a year of battling scalpers with probably another 2 years of it ahead of me and not having a 4K 120hz TV were the deciding factors. I'm into the next gen and the soul sucking fight to get a next gen console is behind me (it was really draining the fun out of gaming for me). If I feel the need I'll get an X in a 3 years when they are easily available or maybe get a PS5 then and have a Nintendo, Xbox and PS console at the same time for the first time ever for me. Plus I can wait on the TV for 3 years and the price on the 4k 120's will have gone down by then.
@@Killreligion3_6 The "soap opera" effect bumps up the frame rate and makes it 120hz. You won't feel it in games but it'll look smoother. Assuming your Samsung has it. I keep my games on 60fps but my TV bumps it up higher visually. It's better anyway cause 120 fps mode makes sacrifices by turning down the graphics
I plan on getting the Series X this coming summer and I’m excited to try out this console. I’ve never owned an Xbox before so this’ll be a new experience for me, and I love the fact that the console supports games from the previous 3 generations. I’m thinking of getting the Master Chief Collection, and Hi-fi Rush when I get the console.
Picked up a Series S right the Wednesday before Christmas from my local Costco for $289 and I could not be happier! Upgraded from a 2TB One S Launch Edition and the performance is night and day! My only negative was the lack of storage on the console...of the 512GB SSD only 320GB are usable for games. I ended up purchasing an external 2TB SanDisk Extreme Pro SSD and that solved that problem. Most Optimized S/X games must be played off of the internal storage, but some will play right off the external saving me that precious internal storage. The SanDisk SSD makes transfers between the SSD's blazing fast too so I can keep games stored on the SanDisk until I want to play them and then transfer them back to the internal SSD. 👍

Same thing happen to my PS4 when I got my Xbox One S couple years ago. Now I’ve got gaming PC and Series S(admitted Switch) and got no reason to bother with PS5 at this time.
I have a PS4 Pro that I play on a 4K TV, and to be honest since I'm moving more towards digital copies of games. The series S is something I've had my eye on for for a while since it's the only next-gen console the shops around have had on sale, but it's a compact system that packs a punch and I like that.
I managed to get a PS5 on release, but soon sold it on to get a Series X. It took a few months to get that, but in the meantime I did manage to get a Series S for a bargain price (£130). So now I have both a Series X and S. And I love them both to be honest, even although I'm not a fan of digital only, Gamepass Ultimate is such decent value, it's just worth it.
@@dontaylor4464 I will get another PS5 at some point for the exclusives and VR2. But at the moment, I'm good. I was late to the PS4 party too, not having one for the first 3 or 4 years. I prefer gaming on the xbox mostly, but grabbing a Playstation when the price drops, or the slim model is released, and doing their exclusives then.
The sole reason I wouldn't get a Xbox S over the X if I had the money is if I want to buy a game I truly like (e.g. Halo) I want to have the physical copy. Same with Switch. I don't mind other games on the eshop but any Nintendo brand (i.e. Mario titles) or games I really like that also have physical releases will sit in my storage/on my shelf.
The sad thing with physical copy of Halo: Inifinite is that there is no game on the disc. You have to put the disc inside the console, but the game has to be downloaded instead of installed from the disc. If you don't have internet connection, then you can't install Halo even if you bought physical copy. I think that's because of this smart delivery thing, where they are selling the same disc for Xbox One and Xbox Series. The same thing goes with backward compability, where you put the disc from Xbox One or 360, but you can't play or install the game from disc and you have to download it instead.
I was lucky enough to get a new gaming laptop. I’ve been a console gamer for years. I was really happy to see how well gamepass works on pc. Being able to automatically get my save between console and pc is amazing.
I don't even have an xbox, just a controller from my friend, and I've been playing Halo through game pass on my phone. Really great option for those who don't want/can't purchase a console right now
If I didn't have a gaming PC already I'd definitely get the Xbox over the Playstation. I think they're offering a lot more value so far this generation
I’ve had my Xbox series X since launch I love it, I use it almost everyday for gaming and as my main streaming device. I bought a PS5 2 months ago it’s another amazing console but it’s lacking games. I’m waiting for KOTOR remake, Spider-Man 2, and Wolverine.
Got my series X through my work with an employee discount of $150 off :) have had it for a couple weeks now and I absolutely love it. I've been strictly using PC for the past 2 years, the struggle of affording raytracing with a new GPU pushed me to just get the Xbox lol
A few days after Christmas, I went into my local Target to buy a Series S because they're so readily available. The main reason for getting one was Game Pass. I ended up walking out of there with a Series X because they had one in stock. In hindsight, as great as the Series S is, I'm definitely glad I got the Series X.

Great video! I did a similar thing, purchased a bunch of different systems to see which one I liked best. Atari VCS also supports Xbox game pass, although if you did a top ten list of favourite things about that console, you might get stuck at five. Maybe a top five list of great things about the VCS? I mean the 2600 became kind of a joke after a time. Looks like their keeping it old school. I still love it though… Beep. Beep!

As someone who owns both I would say yes the S is great compact and does what needs to be done. That being said unless you feel like paying 200$ for a glorified memory card aka the 1TB storage space. Or an external cheaper option. You will constantly have to uninstall games which IS the biggest downside of the series s.
I want an Xbox Series S after I get the PS5. It’ll be my first time I’ll have a Nintendo, PlayStation, Xbox and PC at the same time. I love all the systems
I think for most people the Series S is the way to go. I understand the X is better on paper, but for right now the Series S is instock at most stores and realistically you’ll be using game pass and not physical media.

Just got a Series S last week! I'm a playstation dude but this is also a great entry point into Microsoft's world. Game Pass is a must!
Same here bud, its my first xbox ever and is fantastic
All my life I have been a “play station guy” and I got the series S exclusively to play Forza with my friends and I fell in love with my Xbox, I even like the controller better than the dualshock. It is incredibly quiet, fast, and all my stuff is digital so I don’t mind. If you are still thinking if you should get one, go for it, I’m buying the extra space 1TB SSD tomorrow and I know it’s going to be a wicked upgrade.
Awesome 👍 and Happy Gaming !
PS5 is better
@@Xander_Park Agree, I have PS5 too and must say that it sure is. But Xbox Series X is a good value because of that game-pass, already playing some of those games :)
@@Xander_Park ps5 is dogshit compared to xbox even the game play is dog shit compared to xbox game play the graphics are dog shit aswell on ps5 xbox is miles above playstation and always will be
I recently got a Series X a month ago. Very well in performance and speed.
@@dan3974 by luck lol
Honestly looking foward in grabbing an Xbox S this coming year. Staples (at least mine) surprisingly has all versions of all consoles in stock, so for those looking, add Staple to your list of stores of potential console purchases.
I literally just got a Series S for christmas, this could not have been timed better
Series X yesterday! Coming from OG Xbox One "VCR", it's such a huge upgrade I'm at a loss for words. It feels like a high end gaming PC. I'm happy to say the least. And i almost got a Series S which I still hear is amazing and blows One X away regardless of specs. Lovely Tech
It does not blow One X away. Spec wise it's not better and some games like Halo and Forza run better on One X. You made the right choice.
@@pupusas975 Awesome thanks, I was so close to getting the S... Like about to hit buy button when I thought about regretting it and then just still wanting to get the Series X right after I get the S. Would have been pointless...
@@alanscott2517 and even if it does it might not support every feature of HDMI 2.1. Sony TVs for example don't have VRR last time I checked.
My wife got me the Halo edition Series X and it’s awesome. So far Halo is great!! Just beat the first mission and even got a few achievements. I forgot how fun Halo campaign was!
Merry Christmas everyone! Never thought I would get a next gen console after having the Xbox one s for so long!
you can plug out your xbox mid-game, plug it back in, turn it back on and you'll still be in the game, its amazing
You should be able to do the emulation on the Series X
@@DE23 you can the performance is a lot better than s because you can push the GPU he needs to go in dev mode
You don't need a series s just go into dev mode
Same here “Xbox all access “ was the only way to nab a console
SX/S is easily the best gaming console ever. I can play all my 360 and xbox one games plus with emulation, you can even play nes-ps2 games and I belive even some ps3 game will run on the system as well.
Ngl I’m only really interested in like a handful of the videos on this channel but the production is so nice👌 I end up just watching them anyway
I have a 2017 model 4k Samsung tv I don’t get hdr or 120hz. I bought my tv to early before I got my XSX. Damn it all to hell
I just walked in to my local target today and bought a series x so random didnt think they would have it lol
@@Killreligion3_6 same 2018 year too early
@@Killreligion3_6 The "soap opera" effect bumps up the frame rate and makes it 120hz. You won't feel it in games but it'll look smoother. Assuming your Samsung has it.
I keep my games on 60fps but my TV bumps it up higher visually. It's better anyway cause 120 fps mode makes sacrifices by turning down the graphics
Sounds like a good plan
Best decision I’ve ever made buying myself the Xbox Series X. GamePass is an unbeatable deal. - I still love my switch as well.
A non switch video, unexpected but good to see what's best loved in your life!
I love my series s. I mostly game on pc and switch but have the series s in the living room, paired up with gamepass it's great! There are so many indie titles I wouldn't get around to on there. Great for replacing netflix in the evening!
Finally purchased the Series S to accompany my PS5. Best of both worlds
Just found this at Walmart on December 26 while looking for new windshield wipers. I was spending the holiday with family and enjoying Halo Infinite on their Xbox
Bought my Series X on november, been havin a blast, did the 3 years of gold + de game pass ultimate trial and now I have game pass ultimate until november 2024, an amazing machine for saving some cash.
I love my series x.. my ps5 has been collecting a lot of dust lately too
I bought a Series S and with the expansion card is incredible
I got mine at launch then a series s over the summer lol I’m actually here for the vibes👍🏾
Why do you have both?
@@prosperomiponle7645 I’m a content creator so my series X is hooked to my PC along with all my other consoles so I can make videos directly in my PC setup. But my wife is a gamer and so are all my friends so i set up the series S in the living room so I can still play games on a much bigger TV with family friends or whoever without having to unplug or switch anything around. 1st world problem I know but it’s super convenient
My brother surprised me with the series s for christmas and I LOVE it! Highly recommend to anyone looking for a next-gen on a budget!
Litterally two days ago my Series X decided to stop outputting in 4k to my tv. Had no idea what was happening till I watched this video
I saw a tweet that said gamestop would have some series x's in stock one day. the nearest gamestop to me was 2 hrs away. so I got up at 3 in the morning and got there hours before they opened. I was first in line and thats how I got mine. keep at it dudes and dudettes you'll get yours 👍🏾
I was lucky enough to be genuinely happy to get a new Xbox series (X) system. Be thankful for what you have this holiday season as it’s a blessing nowadays. Hope everyone has an amazing holiday and New Years! Love you guys!
I just received my Xbox series s and I obviously needed to check with an expert what things should I do first with it
I don't know why "X|S" looks so fire
No joke just got mine a couple days ago so this video came out at a perfect time haha can’t wait to watch when I have time
I’m really enjoying my Series X! My PS5 sits in shame collecting dust. It doesn’t even fit in my entertainment stand so it’s unplugged in the way back 🤣
Same thing happen to my PS4 when I got my Xbox One S couple years ago. Now I’ve got gaming PC and Series S(admitted Switch) and got no reason to bother with PS5 at this time.
The whole share thing with the capture and share thing is just perfect
I have a PS4 Pro that I play on a 4K TV, and to be honest since I'm moving more towards digital copies of games. The series S is something I've had my eye on for for a while since it's the only next-gen console the shops around have had on sale, but it's a compact system that packs a punch and I like that.
the editing on that ad was an absolute chef's kiss
Merry Christmas Bob! Thanks for the great content this year. Can't wait to see what you bring us next year!
Hey Bob,
So I recently moved to PC,
I'm just watching this video because I love your videos
I got a series x and I'm loving it. If I get the chance, I'll probably get a series S for portability.
Hell yeah. New series S carbon 1tb owner here. Bought it saturday. Been replaying GTA 5 campaign and halos. Load times are so fast.
Great video, loved it, just a quick thing, the series S comes with a 2.0 HDMI cable, not a 2.1
I don't got an Xbox. I just like watching you Wulff! Here's to better year! And happy holidays!
I kept my ps5 for the exclusives and the vr2 I play the series x for every other game.
Can't believe that WalMart is selling the X for $599.00 and I got one at Costco on sale for $465.00 .
I have a Ps5 but still watched this.
Really great option for those who don't want/can't purchase a console right now
I love having both consoles. PS5 is my default and xbox SX is my GP console. So worth it.
Merry Christmas to the WULFF DEN team and look forward to more highly entertaining content in 2022!
If I didn't have a gaming PC already I'd definitely get the Xbox over the Playstation. I think they're offering a lot more value so far this generation
that oculus spot is hilarious...nice job Bob
Target came in clutch for us man, They've always had them in stock for me cuz the ones sold online are a different stock then the instore ones i think, Me and my buddy ended up with ones to replace our one's.
Happy happy
Great video! I did a similar thing, purchased a bunch of different systems to see which one I liked best. Atari VCS also supports Xbox game pass, although if you did a top ten list of favourite things about that console, you might get stuck at five. Maybe a top five list of great things about the VCS? I mean the 2600 became kind of a joke after a time. Looks like their keeping it old school. I still love it though… Beep. Beep!
I finally managed to get my hands on all the new consoles this generation and being able to play both is a godsent
I bought a OLED Switch instead of a new Xbox.... Still debating on if that was a good call .... Anyway i just like watching your videos.
I did the same having had an xbox/playstation my whole life and honestly? It wasn't a bad call, I'm sinking in hundreds of hours in Animal Crossing/MHR/Smash
Hopefully you are having the same experience with your preferred games! Merry christmas!
Not a bad call if you bought it to play exclusives
i had a xbox series x for a year now if your reading this on christmas got it from my parent for christmas and with forza horizon 5 releasing not too long ago its an amazing console cant recommend it enough
As someone who owns both I would say yes the S is great compact and does what needs to be done. That being said unless you feel like paying 200$ for a glorified memory card aka the 1TB storage space. Or an external cheaper option. You will constantly have to uninstall games which IS the biggest downside of the series s.
Still same problem with the series x my x doesn't hold that many either Still have to Uninstall games
F for those who don’t have game pass in their country, like me
500gb is a killer for me
PlayStation 5 player here! Thinking about getting a series s as a secondary and checkout game pass for the first time I’ve been intrigued by them lately video was very informative!
Thats what i did i got my xbox s from costco for 270 or something and i love it i figure i give my playstation a break
They are not “Hackable” at all, you ca use a developer mode you pay a little to get access to.
Finally got the x box X console after trying to get one for a year ! GameStop will send you early special offers (game pro members) either getting from a store which I did (only 4 per store)being at the store right before it opened or you can grab one online soon as you get a notice on email from GS. It’s $650 plus tax but for extra $150 they give you $50 GS gift card , $59 extra wireless controller, 3 month free game pass, so I think it’s worth it. Just hooked it up with my 75 in 8K TV ! Amazing 🤩 Luvin it !!!!!!
I have the Series S I traded my One X in for it my only issue is the 512 gig and the price to get the 1TB card is crazy! But overall I like it alot 10/10🙂
