God willing we are planning on going to St. Andrews in 2024 for my buddy's 50th. Watching this is getting me fired up for 5 years from now. Congrats guys! I really enjoyed this vlog!
Pretty sure your edit shows you teeing off on the 2nd before holing out on the 1st! I used to live in St Andrews as a student but I only got the opportunity to play the Old Course once (too busy studying - and drinking - to play more!) It was a real treat, though - and I came _thiiiis close_ to sinking a birdie on the last. Sent my first drive at 17 into the side of the Old Course Hotel, mind you!
Played the Old Course last year, (bucket list item !) and loved it. Walking in the footsteps of golfing heroes, you could almost feel the history! I also visited the old course museum and played the Eden Course too. Highly recommended, very friendly people. I want to go back and do it all again!
Enjoyed the video … wonderful course, oozing history at every turn, and a great experience. If you enjoyed some of the local ales, then you indeed had a great experience!
This truly is one of the best videos I have ever seen. I would love to play the Old Course, but sadly my handicap isn't low enough. I began to well up watching the pure happiness you both showed as you maneuvered your way around the course. Still hopeful of playing there and it would be the most important Bucket Listing for me. Thank you for this video.
Funny how Frank says in the video to "take your lumps" outta the bunkers and play em to the left or right. Then both proceed to NOT do what he said and go straight at the faces of said bunkers... too funny!! Hope you guys had a great time tho... def a bucket list course. Did Mike's drive on 18 go into town for a pint?
Played it on Thursday just gone, shot 87 playing off 17, my best friend plays off scratch and shot -1 after being 3 over after 2. He made 5 birdies between 3 and 14
@@Golficity Go to Royal Portrush , that's where this years British Open was played , but the Old Course in Scotland is still the best links course in the world
I just came back from a week in Scotland and played Trump International, Royal Troon and the Old Course at St Andrews. I played as a single and lined up at 3:00 am, hoping to get a tee time when the old pavilion opened at 6:15 AM. I was golfer number 10 in line and there were nine guaranteed spots. Once the dust settled, I managed to get a tee time for 9:00 am with three other singles that were waiting in line with me. They said a member had a twosome for 9:00 am but cancelled the tee time, which worked out perfectly for us. I had a put for birdie on the first hole, which was pretty special and I look forward to going back next year. My memories of the day definitely surpassed any expectations of scoring well. What an awesome day. One a side note...the sausage roll at the turn was sooooo delicious.
Hi guys love your content I’m a local stay just a few mins away in Balmullo Bernie is actually my physio great guy I am a greenkeeper at gleneagles would love to see you guys play all three courses at gleneagles when all the COVID19 stuff calms down
This was such a cool video. I’m not trying to suck you guys off, but you guys deserve a hell of a lot more subs than you have. Every one of your videos is well put together and gets me pumped to play. Keep it up fellas!
Good stuff again guys, but not sure why the videos are so short. I'm waiting out this 2 weeks notice and I'm running out of content over here. It's really just all about me... but hey! great video
So did you enjoy it then ? After watching I'm not sure !! Ha ha. Looks like it was the experience you hoped for and more. Its nuts when you're that far north it stays light so late. Your next trip needs to be Iceland when you can play 24 hours a day in the summer. I aim to get to the Old Course in the next year or two. After EAL's series last year, I have a long list of Scottish course to play and Lundin from you precious vid is added to it. The good thing is I can drive from North West England !
Used to chunk like this guy excavates the turf, try choking up like a fraction and imagine moving forward in the swing not into the ground. Kinda helped for me
I was there 8 years ago. I was in that same bunker on 11. Took me 3 strokes to get out, carded a 6... Only had 1 birdie, 15, for an 89. My goal going in was to break 90 so mission accomplished. I was playing off about 15/16 then and I am off 9 now so I want another crack it but I mean score does not really matter when you're at the home of golf.
want to start off by saying i am a fan. with that said, are there any plans for actual course vlog style like golfholics? it's nice seeing you guys walk around the course and hit balls but feel like it would be more fun to see actual scoring. as a viewer i have no idea what hole you're on or how you're scoring. if that's not your thing then i get it but, as someone who enjoys watching your content, i feel it would make things just that much better. good stuff though boys. looks like a blast out there. also, im a bergen county nj guy so im rooting for you to keep doing well. cheers
Hi Brian, thanks for the suggestion. In these cases we wanted to make the video focus course and the whole experience of the day, rather than focusing on our individual scores. That said, we are working on more "challenge" style videos with match and stroke play. Those will hopefully be coming soon (just not in this particular series).
I’m just curious, how come you guys didn’t share your scores throughout the round and at the end?? It’s always fun to see what you guys shoot at this bucket list courses, relative to what you guys normally shoot. I honestly can’t remember a course vlog in which you guys didn’t post your scores at the end. Usually you have them posted hole by hole with a ticker in the corner of the screen.
Hi Cody, thanks for the suggestio. For this Scotland Series we wanted the focus to be more on the courses and our experience rather than our individual scores, but that said we did share all the scores from our Scotland trip here: golficity.com/the-scotland-series-a-tale-of-the-tape-with-our-shot-scope-data/
Yes, anyone is welcome to arrive at the course and wait for a tee time. That was our backup plan if Bernie fell through. Case in point...the gentleman who joined us was a "walk on." He arrived to the course a few minutes before the tee time and was able to join our group since we were only 3. Funny story...he had no rain gear or even golf clubs with him...he had to quickly rent clubs to tee off.
Have you ever played The Old Course? If so, tell us about your own experience in the comments!
played 2 days after the Royal Portrush Open 40 mile winds all day. best course ever only in 2 bunkers got around in 85
Played it in 2017. It's a myth that you can't miss the first fairway....
No I'm not joking u
I love your videos. Keep doing more of these where you play great golf courses.
Thank you! Well then you found us at the right time. We have LOADS of epic on course golf lined up with spring and summer.
@@Golficity Can’t wait for the videos!
So glad that you had your Old Course experience and totally endorse the Caddy advice it is almost an essential.
Unbelievable. I live in England an it’s somewhere many many golfers, even in this country, never get to play. Awesome video fella’s!
vZEBERDEEv isn’t the old course in Scotland?

Top of my bucket list courses! Awesome vid series here guys! Loving watching! 👍🏻
Man a Scotland trip has definitely been on my list since my dad went way back in the day and told me of all the abundance of greatness out there.
"Abundance of greatness" is an excellent way to put it ;)

Talk about a bucket list scratcher offer. Way to go guys! Now can I join you next year if you go? hehe

Beautiful course. But honestly, those cars parked on the side of 18 must get pummeled by balls all the time. The hotel also. Very intimidating.
Park at your own risk 😆
"it's not very difficult if you stay out of the bunkers and make putts...." damn...thats golf in a nutshell lol!
ashton always easier said than done 😉😆
Everyone you've ever heard of in the game of golf, has stood on that 1st tee.....just think about that. You guys were lucky.
