Seriously though, it's nice to see more of the full team that makes these procedures happen. There's a lot of focus in the industry on "rockstar" surgeons and not enough acknowledgement of all the other wonderful folks who are part of the whole process. Might help make future patients feel more comfortable when their body is in the hands of other members of your team. Normalize clinic staff!

It’s like going to buy a table, “everyone” knows you can go to the furniture store but the majority never even imagine what it takes to procure the lumber or how it’s shipped. “Everyone” knows there’s a surgeon, nurse, and sometimes an anesthesiologist; few realize there’s a scrub tech, circulator, orderly, and on……. Not to mention the numerous people in other departments that a patient goes through before they get to the theatre. I may also add, the patient is under before he/she sees a quarter of the OR team so how would the regular Joe Everyone know? No, I’m not being snarky, I’m debating how you worded your statement.

My hair began to thin when I was 21. Although it didn't start to get prominent from 27. I had curly black wavy hair.
But covering up the thinning was getting to me. Even considered doing a hair transplant.
But then ultimately, I took the going bald route. Cheap and less maintenance. The acceptance part is the difficult one. But eventually bald look grew on me.
The channel bald cafe helped me in this.

The hair is more sparse, shorter and maybe even finer, and I have excessive "baby" hairs, so my overall hairline looks fairly low even though I have this widows peak I can feel. The hair at the very peak doesn't grow longer than a few inches either. It would be cool to learn more about women's hairlines.

The person who made the "desert island" comment makes a very good point. If you had access to plastic surgery but say hypothetically nobody will see you again, would you get any procedures done. I think the most obvious answer is no but there will always be people who will try and justify saying yes. At the end of the day, we all care about how we look to other people to a certain extent.

Thanks for another great video Dr. Linkov. Just wondering what questions would you suggest when finding a good surgeon for a hair transplant? As well as what to look out for in general, the good and the bad.

How do you know whether FUT, FUE, or hairline lowering surgery is the option for you?
I assume that surgeons specialise in one of these types, so I wouldn’t go to someone that specialises in FUT and ask for hairline lowering. However, would they suggest a different option if a different one was more suitable?
I worry that they wouldn’t want to lose the business by suggesting the option they themselves don’t specialise in, and end up getting worse quality or the wrong type for me!
    Really insightful video, thank you

In the pic where he is wearing the long red hair, I think that's a lace front wig, not his natural hairline. You can see the lining of the lace in the center of the part.

Red was a wig, but Jeffreye’s hair did turn out great ! I am glad you guys brought up the medical stabilization that he is probably on to make the transplant be so successful and stay that way.

He wears his natural hair all the time in his videos, anytime you see short blond hair that's his hair and I watched the entire healing process and compared to his old hairline I would say this surgery can be potential magic, I sometimes forget he had a receding hairline. Now he is shaved down and it looks like any other hairline.

quick question Dr. Linkov, I am transgender, and I feel like my hairline has, if only very slightly, reversed in its maturing over the course of my medical hormone replacement treatment. I haven't seen any signs of further recession or mpb, and was wondering if a procedure like this one would still be ill-advised given that i'm in my early 30s. Thank you.

I'm really impressed by Jeffrey Starr. I have patients ask "what should I do"!!! I always tell people the same. When you go somewhere and see a mirror you aren't expecting and see yourself what is the first thing you notice. That's where we start.

Hmmm, sounds like some proactive pre-surgical patient education might get their expectations in line with reality. My daughter had breast reductions surgery with a highly recommended surgeon. But her bedside manner and willingness to educate patients as to expectations was very poor. Consequently my daughter was very disappointed and ended up undergoing two tweak surgeries after healing. I believe this could have been prevented if her surgeon had laid out what outcome was realistic and what was not as far as results and timing of healing. imho a great surgeon is great in the OR as well as pre-surgical education. Both are necessary.

Wait! Low hairlines are "more feminine"? First time I've heard that. The beautiful Tyra Banks has a famously high hairline/forehead she calls a "five head". I have one too and it never occurred to me that it's less feminine. That girl in the video getting her forehead reduced, was shocking really, the before picture doesn't look high at all. Of course, how an individual feels is what matters, but as a universal statement that lower hairlines are better or more feminine or beautiful? No.

    • @ginao6810
      @ginao6810 3 роки тому +9

Generally a rounder hairline is considered more femme.m, and square lines are more masculine.
You can see J* had a really square shape at the temples and they really rounded his shape out.

There is a whole thing about how the size of your forehead and height of your hairline makes your face look. Sometimes a lower hairline makes a softer and cuter look. Where a higher hairline is more strong and very womanly

    • @Drageisha

I used to hate how low my hairline is. Literally patches of hair growing down onto my forehead (I call it a three-head 🤣) that I used to pluck out. Now that I’m 38 I feel like my low hairline & short forehead is helping me look younger.
