    I think I watch these not just for the great content about our hobby, but also just to see what kind of mess Jeff and Cam get into next. "While were here" should be a show all in itself. Keep doing what you are doing. I added the group to my Facebook feed and my friends, also a bunch of computer nerds, laugh a lot so hopefully they will subscribe to the channel. Stay safe, and keep tinkering. :)

      @@AutoRestoMod It actually looks a lot easier than when I did my 66 Galaxie. Way more room under there at least.
      I think the only think I'm worried about doing is the spindle swap and the rod that the spindle connects through. Didn't see that posted on any videos (saw this, brakes, and some other things). Is it a difficult job? Do I need a press?

    Funny I went to a big semi truck shop once to get my 2wd 95 F-150 aligned after putting on a 2.5" lift kit, and they quoted me essentially $800...so while not knowing it at the time I went to the right place...I did not actually have them perform the work. But that probably explains why. They were going to rebend back my i-beams (had previously rear ended a car a summer or two earlier) as you mentioned in the video previous to this one. But yea, the poor college student found someone else to "align" my truck better than it was before.

  • @AndrewWallacelive

    Now this what I'm talking about... I'm restoring a 91 E-150 so a bit different but same old setup . Its a full mechanical restoration so I have everything from pivot bushings / new radius arms and brackets .. kingpins new steering / springs and even a beefy new sway bar. everytime I go through the process in my head ( this is my first time ) I'm like.. well why not just get into a position to safely have the truck securely jacked and do the whole damn thing at once ( at least one side at a time) ... which actually is more realistic.. but seems much easier to do pivot bushings and kingpins etc. not to mention getting a nice protective paint on the I beams. It just helps to see someone else actually doing it but it feels the best way also while its all out of there allowing access to any frame/body portions to abrade and paint for proper restoration. Thanks for the upload!

    • @AutoRestoMod
      @AutoRestoMod  Рік тому

      It sounds like you need to take the truck to a body shop and get the cross member worked on. On. Alignment will probably have to be done by a semi truck alignment place they're the only ones that are gonna have the stuff that will ban the eye beams into the correct position but I wouldn't do anything until I got that frame fixed.

    Are we to bring our comments to this video "Take Two"? If so, the wheel bolt pattern on the truck is originally 5 on 5 1/2" not; 5 on 5".
    And those are adapters not; spacers. Spacers simply push the wheel outward. Adapters change the bolt pattern, too. Semantics, I suppose.

      So, what exactly does that mean, because every one of these I’ve owned really needed ibeams bent to adjust and regular tire shops don’t have the equipment. I always hear heavy truck place, but does that mean they Remove or do they bend on the chassis? Because if they’re going to have to remove, labor is going to be so much I might as well just see if they’ll quote entire front end rebuild.
      Do they have to take them in and out to bend, or is chassis strapped down and bent with jacking somehow? Thank you.

    I know you are probably sick of hearing it, but, for the love of God, please wear safety glasses or a face shield if you are gonna use those regular sockets with an impact. I worked with a guy that did that with a lug nut, and the socket shattered, sending a small piece of shrapnel right through his eye. Let's set a good example for the young-uns!

      You are right. My anti-fog lens safety glasses broke a coouple months ago and I need to replace them. Our others are not anti-fog and as soon as I get working I sweat hey fog and I can't see. I've ordered some new ones just now.

    IDK,maybe it's petty but why don't you clean and paint the work you do.I always do and did and customers are much happier.I'm just curious why you don't even clean parts your working on.

      Because the undercarriage is pigliscious LOL. I have a leak in the front and rear main seal. They will be oily soon enough. If this were a customer car I would go the extra mile. But since it is mine...

    Getting ready to take my 78 F100 in to get the beams bent, I have lowered it 3” in front and 4” in rear, I used the explorer coil springs on the front, drives great, just the camber is off some, hasn’t affected tire wear, I have a Facebook page for the truck, facebook.com/ithapnsgarage/
