It’s not often you come across an album where you don’t skip any tracks, all born screaming is one of those albums, and sweetest fruit is one of my favourite tracks
It's always you come across St.Vincent's albums where you don't skip any tracks. Except for this track. It's the first and only skipped St.Vincent track to date because of its controversial content.
Absolutely. Amazing record. I'm a "Flea" and "Broken Man" guy. On repeat. Gets me going with those huge riffs and drums. Amazing band. Amazing leading lady. Pop can be artful and rock at the same time. Exquisite taste in every choice. A true artist with a great team. One of my albums of the year.
@@RoundMidnight111 flea is bloody brilliant, but I especially love the almost half and half end of the album all born screaming, oh it builds and builds and builds layer upon layer, incredible. I’d love to hear her play the whole album live in order.
@@outdoortedShe played Masseduction in order when she was touring off it. But it was just her playing live with the tracks. No live band. I got what she was trying to do, but it was a bit boring. Fortunately she's back to a live band with this tour, and holy shit was it amazing! I'm hoping she starts to pepper full album performances into her future tours. She has a supreme catalog to do it.
My wife and I have been listening to this song incessantly. I mean, the entire album is phenomenal, but this song right here - this freakin' song! Great live performance too!
My Sophie climbed the roof To get a better view of the moon, moon My God, then one wrong stair Took her down to the depths But for a minute, what a view What a view You're a natural, baby You don't have to quit Sweetest fruit You're a natural, baby You know this ain't it And you're the sweetest fruit Is on the limb My daddy took a bus To find America It goes on and on and on and on and on You're a natural, baby You don't have to quit And you're the sweetest fruit You're a natural, baby You know this ain't it And you're the sweetest fruit Is on the limb You're a natural, baby You don't have to quit And you're the sweetest fruit You're a natural, baby, you know No, this ain't it You're the sweetest fruit You're a natural, baby You know this ain't it You're the sweetest fruit
Aside from being a phenomenal songwriter and singer, Anne Erin Clark is probably the greatest guitarist performing these days. St. Vincent is just absolutely amazing!!!
Incredible performance. Love the album a total new directional game changer that will stand the test of time. I have Big Time Nothing on my progressive playlist ✌️🙃
I first became aware of Charlotte through the concert with Annie in Luxembourg and have now fallen in love with her musically. Not only does she look fantastic, she also makes fantastic music herself and is a master of several instruments. Her bands GOAST (together with her boyfriend Sean Lennon) and UNI (Uni and The Urchins) are extremely good. It is a mystery to me that she is not much better known and a world star. She would have deserved it - I think she just doesn't want to be bent and makes the music she likes. It's just not mainstream.
lo primero que escuché fue la session de 4AD en 2011 y quede fascinado por el sonido. Hoy escuchando este directo tuve la misma sensación, la música de Annie sigue innovando más allá de su propia época.
@@wences71 Sophie was a music producer, DJ, and artist from the UK. She made lots of experimental pop, hyperpop, and dance music in the 2010s with an EP called Product, and an album called OIL OF EVERY PEARL'S UN-INSIDES in 2018. She worked with artists like Madonna, Kanye West, Charli XCX, and Vince Staples to name a few. Her production was seen as boundary pushing, since she never sampled anything, and created all of the sounds in her music from scratch with lots of texture. She passed away in late January 2021 sadly. Right now she has a self-titled posthumous album coming from her family that's out in September. St. Vincent has been a fan of hers, and she references Sophie's death in the first set of lyrics on this song
I've been playing this album -- Yes, I bought the CD -- almost constantly for weeks and weeks. Friends and family are starting to get annoyed. But it's become my favorite album of 2024 so far. Waiting for Nick Cave's album later this month, but until then -- Annie/St. Vincent remains on my top of the lists.
Great performance! Who are the other musicians (she always has such talented people supporting her)? I think I recognise Jason Falkner but I would like to know who the rest are.
Charlotte Kemp Muhl plays the bass Rachel Eckroth plays the synthesizer Mark Guiliana plays the drums And you're right, the guy on the left is Jason Falkner. This is truly a compilation of exceptional musicians.

you know you're listening to great musicians when the live set sounds as crisp as the album ❤

Its uplifting and full of sensations ("view", "sweetest") - I love the last part, that particular silence before the last chorus
My Sophie climbed the roof
To get a better view of the moon, moon
My God, then one wrong stair
Took her down to the depths
But for a minute, what a view
What a view
You're a natural, baby
You don't have to quit
Sweetest fruit

You know this ain't it
And you're the sweetest fruit

To find America
It goes on and on and on and on and on
You're a natural, baby
You don't have to quit
And you're the sweetest fruit

Annie Clark is just pure BADASS. Period.
Hope we get a performance of Violent Times, love that song!

@GaryRayBetz - She was placed at 25 this year in Rolling Stones top 100 guitarists of all time. ;)
Just don't check out the female guitarists in Japan if you want Anne to stay number one in your brain.
@@twtwtw1 LOL I'm pretty sure know the one you're talking about.
I love Annie but I disagree
❤️🔥😜👊🏼
Every song on that record is amazing. Annie Clark is a guitar god, and the album is chock full of great ideas. We listen to it nearly every day.
On repeat... F'cking amazing, the sound, the looks, all of it.
I hope we will see more Vevo performances
you will!
@@St.Vincent Can't wait ❤
@St.Vincent your guitar tone just keeps getting better.

Album of The Year. Plus all other categories
Happy to see St. Vincent in progress of sound, performance and style. It's warming up my old еаrs.
Love St. Vincent. The voice. The lyrics. The musical talent. Always blown away. 💘💘💘💘
THE BASS PLAYER THOUGH! Charlotte Kemp Muhl. Sean Lennon's lover for last 20 years. Alien perfection.
SUCH A COMPLETE AND TALENTED ARTIST! AN AMZING GUITARRIST, SONGRITER, VOICE, LYRICS, ACTITUD! EVERYTHIIIING AAAAAAAAAAAAAA
Annie never disappoints! Awesome performance from her and the band! Annie's talents and vision are just on another level. Absolutely loved it!
So generous of Annie to hire Jon BonJovi as her rhythm guitarist.
Jason Faulkner, dude gets the coolest gigs
If you can go see them on tour, GO. I can't stand giant shows normally but they were wonderful.
Got All Born Screaming turned up in my headphones, because my speakers are weak; hearing Annie's voice and riffs is the sweetest fruit.
Smooth and powerful at the same time, love it!
I haven't heard any good new music for what feels like a life time. Thanks and please tour uk soon . x
Love the uncanny sound of the synth(?) and the gritty noise under it. Almost like from another place than here.
There is nothing touched by Jason Faulkner that isn't automatically elevated.
She always delivers the goods. So sweet in headphones!
Incredible performance.
Love the album a total new directional game changer that will stand the test of time. I have Big Time Nothing on my progressive playlist ✌️🙃

She is beyond any standard of beauty. She is compared to the life giving sun.
just spectacular!
I absolutely love Annie!! Viva St. Vincent!!!!
such an incredible song! Love seeing Mark Guiliana on the drums, imo one of the most versatile drummers out there.
Bringing back memories of the Albert Hall. What a gig. Wish I could do that one again
