Who the hell can possibly still be saying that kids have no talent these days? I'm 64 and yes I love my classic rock, but when I go to listen to that music, the comment sections are full of angry old folks saying, "Back in the day, musicians were really talented, not like today...", etc. And I'm tired of it. Those guys need to get out of their little corner and check out some of these new bands. They are fantastic! The Last Dinner Party, The Warning, and so many, many more. And they are even still playing in the classic rock styles sometimes. Kids these days are just as talented and smart as they ever were, maybe even more so.
Right? So much good, no great new music. There‘s bad music too, obviously, but there always was and always will be. And yes, maybe there‘s more of it now, but that‘s no reason to indiscriminately dismiss everything new
The playing of this guitarist is so good in this performance. Uncomplicated and with such feeling, she emphasizes just the right notes and nails them so well.
What phenomenal women they are. The Sydney show was biblical - they forever put their whole hearts into everything they do including this amazing cover.
So good!! I'm so grateful my friend invited me- I'd probably not have gotten into them yet otherwise. I can imagine them playing stadiums next time around
Man, these guys are just so cool. And this song was a perfect choice, it just fits them so well like they said in the interview. Also, I just came across this now after watching their Dog Days Are Over cover, and was like "No way, they covered Blondie, that's awesome." And the video literally released an hour ago, so, like, crazy I guess.
Yo, so I was recommended the Dog Days Are Over video a little bit ago, loved it, watched a live performance of theirs, and now I'm here, all in the span of less than 20 minutes. I agree, they fucking rule!
1:10 to 1:30 is absolutely insane. Like the chemistry with the camera, rolled R’s and shrugs! This is one of the best up and coming bands in my generation for sure
I can't stop watching this, heard it on the radio when they first played. I love Blondie, and I love this even better than the original... it's so colourful 🎉
Coming back to this video to say that this was my first introduction to TLDP, and I now count them as one of my favorite bands. So thank you, Triple J.
SO GOOD 😭 unbelievable band and for my money the best front woman or front man in the entire game right now…I know they’re huge, but they’re still underrated 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
You can definitely tell that the band went the extra mile in arranging and rehearsing this cover; it's absolutely brimming with the kind of details that have up until now made me a bit lukewarm about their various covers that have circulated online - TLDP's own songs just make them pale in comparison. This one though, it stacks up super well. Especially enjoyed the variation on the second verse, harnessing the force that is Lizzy and Abigail harmonising, recalling "Sinner" in the very best way. Also, Emily is playing her socks off here; those guitar parts feckin sizzle.
The piano work is brilliant all the way through. Very understated but wonderfully crafted. Almost goes unnoticed with the vocals and guitar dominating this version.
I was lucky enough to see these guys in concert the other night, and they played this cover. However good this may seem now, they are a thousand times better live!

Agreed. There are so many music collectives and bands doing great work. The problem is POP music is mostly filled with vapidness.
FUCK YEAH! GOOD MUSIC IS BEING MADE YET! JUST GITTA POKE AROUND!
these are not kids
And they have all of rock history at their fingertips.
The fact that the lead guitarist is so tiny in HEELS just makes her even cooler.
obsessed with their pocket-rocket lead guitarist
See Emily play!
@@benday1218 Love the referance. But aye shes great!
They are just too good. I am consistently blown away by them.
Glad I'm not the only one. So cool how she's using Annie Clark's guitar too.
