Still fucking hate Silverthorn, Garrosh and Thalyn for putting the Sunreavers in that situation in MoP. I want their elven heads on a plate in front of Aethas so he can finally see them suffer.
Andre Ware the Sunreavers made everything what happened with their own hands! If they hadn't stolen the Devine bell the Purge would have never taken place and Jaina wouldn't have been so desperate after revenge! Every time something bad happens your silly Horde is always part of it!
Stella Stars it was not the Sunreavers. It was the Blood elf archeological faction of the Reliquary. They are the ones that works exclusively for the horde. The Sunreavers are neutral. Learn the lore.
What I like the most about this questline is that I think this was the first time that we were given any in-game hint regarding how the harpies reproduce
Though this method of reproduction was more spelt out in the Warcraft/World of Warcraft paper and pencil RPG (yes they are two different books, one produced just after Warcraft 3: The Frozen Throne and the other produced during vanilla WoW) and outright stated that Harpies kidnap and then rape male members of other species.
Travis Gibbons meanwhile priest get to recruit an npc from the undercity after 2 quests of wq quality, no voice acting or lore relevant characters involved, i would rather get the shatrath fruit vendor as a follower, at least more people know about her.
Did nobody else notice that the part where you're in the hat for akazamzarak looked alot like it would be used again? perhaps to talk to a titan or in a future fight against something much bigger than us? perhaps sargeras or an old god? a void lord? i cant wait to see what blizzard will do with this.
I mean it could be use to speak or even attack sargeras or have tentecales of an old god come down into such a large area, could be used in so many ways, for any large character
Hey Nobbel, not sure if this has already been suggested or you have done any videos on this, but I think it would be cool if you could make a series of videos behind the lore of several reputations that are found in WoW
Hey there Nobbel, I was leveling in Ashenvale, and I saw the horde aligned rare mob / NPC named, Darkslayer Mordenthal. Would you be able to do a lore video on him, if you can find anything at all? I'm terrible at finding out lore on my own.. If you read this, then thanks, and have a great day! Bye!
so that's why there are sunreavers on guard on top of that spire lol. i flew up there on my priest and thought it was so cool. blood elf master race, even tho I'm human now on my main
It's a missed opportunity, honestly. They could've gone with different followers for different factions like they did with the Warriors and Rogues, we could get Ansirem Runeweaver or Archmage Karlain as followers for the Alliance, or even Jaina Proudmoore. Did you like the mage campaign storyline, Nobbel?
Kohin Zadrope I honestly think Jaina is probably fallen to old gods by now. Alliance won't destroy Horde for her and Legion saw her in WC3 and would not make a deal with her, leaving Old Gods as only faction that can achieve her goal.
It would be really nice if Blizzard could stop using the Sunreavers as the default "someone did something bad in Dalaran" group, it's getting really old (and increasingly hard to defend them). They either need to stop and do some serious PR work for the Sunreavers, or just let them be completely evil and then allow the Magisters to take over as the leading Horde faction in Dalaran, which would really make a lot more sense (and I mean take over in a somewhat reluctant way, as I am more than aware of Grand Magister Rommath's general distrust of the Kirin Tor).
I'm of the opinion that it's more to do with making Blood Elves look completely incompetent and untrustworthy, to make the humans look better by comparison. They made Varian a tactical genius by making Tyrande (and a bunch of night elves in the comic) an idiot. And they make humans in general seemingly more appealing by making Aethas repeatedly choose to grovel at their feet rather than be a respected member of Thalassian society where his contributions would be valued, rather than be whispered about behind his back whenever he walks by a Kirin Tor who would sooner leave him to die than shake his hand. Whenever they get the chance to make Blood Elves look untrustworthy, they take it. They did it with Kaelynara Sunchaser in Draenor too. They had to cut the content that gave the Blood Knights a meaningful story, but the bit where they make blood elves look like complete morons when it comes to magic? Naw, they gotta make Khadgar seem even better by comparison than he already was after you saw him be a complete mary sue in the Tanaan Jungle intro. Also having Horde commanders go to a Kirin Tor mage to set up their arcane sanctum for them instead of their own blood elves. That's beyond stupid. It could be chalked up to laziness on Blizzard's part, but they went to such great lengths to design what an orc "arcane sanctum" would look like (a bunch of boxes stacked in a pile with mud and spikes and logs and poop) completely clashing with the beautiful scenery of Talador, instead of a Blood Elf arcane sanctum which would complement it perfectly.
They kidnap males of other races and rape them. Two old RPG books said this, but were made non-canon. With this new tidbit, it seems that the RPG books' explanation has been made canon. I suppose the Harpy gene beats out any other race genes
Ugh. Why does Blizzard always have to use the Sunreavers whenever they want trouble in Dalaran. It makes it really hard to suspend disbelief as to why the Kirin Tor wouldn't make them leave, this time hopefully following the actual laws of Dalaran and having a Council vote, rather than abandoning all pretense of neutrality and standing by while Alliance murder, beat, and imprison innocent Blood Elves, because only ONE was working for Garrosh, not all. I want the hundreds or thousands of years old Sunreavers to leave so the Blood Elves can do their own thing and stop having to rely on the almighty 30-year old human magi's knowledge of magic. The Felo'melorn video put a bad taste in my mouth when I saw Nobbel's bias in regards to the Purge and Aethas. Normally he's very objective and intellectually honest, but back then, said the Sunreavers betrayed the Kirin Tor, when it's clear that only one betrayed both the Kirin Tor and the Sunreavers (Fanlyr and the others you saw were from Silvermoon, not the Sunreavers). Anybody who doesn't think Aethas loves the Kirin Tor more than anything, and would willingly sell out Quel'thalas for Dalaran, as he always does, is kidding themselves. We don't want him. Please, take him, kill him, let Rommath be the big Blood Elf mage name in WoW. He actually has a drop of pride and self-respect.
CrackAlecIn I agree. Usually Nobbel is not this biased and ignorant but I've chosen to give it a pass and chalk it up to faction pride. Cause anyone looking at this through lens of facts and from an unbiased point of view can clearly see vast majority of the Sunreavers knew nothing of the theft of the divine bell, that Aethas and his people were threatened not to do anything about it and that Aethas loved and defended the Kirin Tor despite objections from Rommath who knows of the Kirin tor's duplicity firsthand
I've always wondered why Aethas even took part in the Divine Bell incident. He didn't owe Garrosh anything. You'd think the blood elves would have learned the lesson not to trust racist warlords after dealing with Garithos in Warcraft 3. Yes, we need the blood elves to stay with the Horde and they needed a reason to join the rebellion against Garrosh, but Blizzard could have done it better than making the blood elves look like traitors for the hundredth time. As for having Aethas as a follower, I'm fine with that. At least he helped my mage get Felo'melorn.
@Prince Stormstrider i mean all the guy really did was not snitch in hopes that whatever Jaina had planned from him and the sunreavers was not as bad as what Garrosh could have had planned if he snitched.
Even if Aethas had snitched, I doubt there would have been anything Garrosh could have done about it at that point. Silvermoon would have been too far away for Garrosh to attack and the Forsaken would rather have sided with the blood elves than obeyed Garrosh's orders. If anything, Garrosh's Horde would have crumbled a lot faster and the blood elves would have joined the Alliance, like Lor'themar and Varian planned.
Yep, it can even be heard that every intro is slightly different than the others, your tone of voice, your accent... tell me devolved musician, but I can hear it :D P. S.: I admire you for that, this is about 6th or 7th video with the same intro, I would have used one similar recorded intro for that... :D
We need to build a wall, it'll be yuge! Trust me these forsaken are bringing ninja looters, people with bad transmogs, and lots and lots of rogues that gank. We'll build a Great Wall, and guess what they are gonna pay for it...and the wall just got 10 feet higher. Get building or get goin mate
I love the Horde, but yeah the Sunreavers aren't really great. Still they are Blood Elves which is a race I love, but the Sunreavers themselves are really bad. Also too won't that wolf girl thing eat the rabbits instead? For the Horde!!!
That's quite the Easter egg. Ari is an Easter egg from the Kingkiller Chronicle novels. She acts pretty similarly to how Nobbel described. Very cool.
Ryan Hastings she's definitely an easter egg referring to Auri. The first quest chain with her is absolutely amazing.
I was just about to ask this, I have a capped mage but just recently stumbled on the books and almost forgot ari in the order hall
i love both of these follower quests so much! thank you nobbel, for helping us fellow lorenerds out. thank you so much!! amazing vids as always :D
Andre Ware Sunreavers are just bunch of jobbers anyways, what use is a military organisation if Jania can solo it?
***** if you could not tell during the quest line, they had no intention to fight her or anyone from the Kirin Tor.
And Aethas is one of those who equal to Khadgar or Meryl in power, I think he could rape Jaina in a moment, if he wanted to
What I like the most about this questline is that I think this was the first time that we were given any in-game hint regarding how the harpies reproduce
indeed
Though this method of reproduction was more spelt out in the Warcraft/World of Warcraft paper and pencil RPG (yes they are two different books, one produced just after Warcraft 3: The Frozen Throne and the other produced during vanilla WoW) and outright stated that Harpies kidnap and then rape male members of other species.
I'm pretty certain that's how the greeks portrayed them.
"we are not here for juicy romance novels" Who said that? that doesn't sound right
Are you fucking kidding me..
Mages get quests like this? LIKE THIS!? I swear, they always get the coolest shit..
Travis Gibbons meanwhile priest get to recruit an npc from the undercity after 2 quests of wq quality, no voice acting or lore relevant characters involved, i would rather get the shatrath fruit vendor as a follower, at least more people know about her.
DK's get to raise a stormdrake matriarch then fly around the broken shore purging demons with lightning. B)
Priests go click a few things and then go click more things.. and that's it.
Also, our order campaign finale is still total fuckin shit.
Rogues get a parrot(tucan) that will sit on shoulder.
I want to go back into the hat to have a place to AFK
Kris K. Ditto! Blizzard, plz! 😛
So I'm guessing Ari is a reference to Auri, from the Kingkiller Chronicles? certainly looks like.
octavio selgas in the original quest chain you give her three gifts, she talks about objects having feelings and ends up giving you a ring.
Kalec has become a really significant part of Legion, keeps showing up in all these quest. i love it, is one of my favourite dragons.
If you haven't Nobbel, you NEED to read The Name of the Wind. It's what Ari is a reference too. Fantastic book, and the sequel is great too.
Did nobody else notice that the part where you're in the hat for akazamzarak looked alot like it would be used again? perhaps to talk to a titan or in a future fight against something much bigger than us? perhaps sargeras or an old god? a void lord? i cant wait to see what blizzard will do with this.
playNsleep how do you mean? I mean, i would love it if we could go back and forth as we'd please! That would be awesome! 😊😊
Was that a Pete's Dragon reference with him not being able to say Passamaquoddy?
Hey there Nobbel, I was leveling in Ashenvale, and I saw the horde aligned rare mob / NPC named, Darkslayer Mordenthal. Would you be able to do a lore video on him, if you can find anything at all? I'm terrible at finding out lore on my own.. If you read this, then thanks, and have a great day! Bye!
You know, I wonder if we'll see Nightborn around from now on given they're on our side now. I imagine quite a few would join the Kirin Tor.
did you write this before they were allied races
@@CasperFox Yes, I did
"considering how harpies reproduce"? Please explain
So do Mages get one less champion before Legionfall as everyone else since they get two Legionfall champions?
Is Ari a reference to Auri from the Kingkiller Chronicle?
so that's why there are sunreavers on guard on top of that spire lol. i flew up there on my priest and thought it was so cool. blood elf master race, even tho I'm human now on my main
Not just 2 followers, but a whole herd of rabbits too!
Great stuff
It's a missed opportunity, honestly. They could've gone with different followers for different factions like they did with the Warriors and Rogues, we could get Ansirem Runeweaver or Archmage Karlain as followers for the Alliance, or even Jaina Proudmoore. Alliance won't destroy Horde for her and Legion saw her in WC3 and would not make a deal with her, leaving Old Gods as only faction that can achieve her goal.
I can produce more rabbits from summoning my Spring Rabbit and asking a friend to summon a second one.
Does every class have an extra champion? If not, Why do these ones get them?
Is Orilis an easter egg for Orisa from Overwatch? Sound the same and also look the same? xD
can you do this quest as arcane an mage?
So rihannas in the game now Sweet
oh so THAT'S why that thing kept following me in dalaran
I want to know how the hall of the guardian survived Archimonde destroying the city in Warcraft 3. The whole tower was rubble.
Aka: How did a wolf get in there?
Worgen player: Very funny...
Nobbel it is always time for juicy romance novels
Still no tribute to Hayven? I am sad..
I cant quite remember which one but Akamzarak reminds me of a cartoon character...Maybe Jake from adventure time?
lol i imagine the worgen uses those rabbits as dinner
Wait... how do harpies reproduce exactly?
Death by snu snu

Oh my god. Auri in WoW? I need a mage ASAP.
OOOOOWW ARCHMAGE I'M YOUR BIGGEST FAN
time to activate my mage once again, just for the toy!!!1
I still think using a soul stone on any of the demons in the Blizzard-'verse is a bad idea
i gladly would have a three some with a banshee and a harpy
cool. :)
I think Blizzard enjoys watching ppl fight what faction is better so ofc they made a Sunreaver to do a sabotage
I'm of the opinion that it's more to do with making Blood Elves look completely incompetent and untrustworthy, to make the humans look better by comparison. I agree whit you and that makes me upset cuz i'm a Blood Elf player since they came in TBC and Blizzard is just looking how to make them screw up
What's this about how Harpies reproduce?

10:32 on 0.5 speed is funny as hell
Support Nobbel!

I'm still pretty mad they replaced Rommath with Kelec as one of Khadgar's council of 6 i thought that could have gone very interesting places.
I've always wondered why Aethas even took part in the Divine Bell incident. He didn't owe Garrosh anything. Aethas becomes a follower for Horde and Alliance mages.
Jaina gets triggered somewhere.....
Speaking of which where hell is she we haven't seen her since that fall out with Khadgar letting the Horde back in.
this is just a diffrent version of wiz101 o-o
Nobbel must be so tired of doing this same intro
If not him I surely am
he just records it a replays it everytime
Nope fresh recording for every single one!
I knew it!
Yep, it can even be heard that every intro is slightly different than the others, your tone of voice, your accent... tell me devolved musician, but I can hear it :D
P. S.: I admire you for that, this is about 6th or 7th video with the same intro, I would have used one similar recorded intro for that... :D
I guess Akazamzark never played D&D.
I want the hat...
Mages get TWO new champions?! Screw you guys
loud noises
Does Aethas have two voice actors or is he just bipolar
It's a different voice actor. Probably couldn't get the one they used in MoP
Another character with voice of Nathanos 🤣
Jaina just wants to prevent the Horde form betraying us a third time! Remember Wrathgate! Remember Broken Shore! MAKE THE ALLIANCE GREAT AGAIN!
Wrathgate was Putress and Varimathras
Broken Shore was a death trap and the SI:7 was infiltrated.
Kill Jaina the butcher!
What is 1st and 2nd time? How did we made it to 3rd already
never trust someone who picks the faction with 3 different heights of human
We need to build a wall, it'll be yuge! Trust me these forsaken are bringing ninja looters, people with bad transmogs, and lots and lots of rogues that gank. We'll build a Great Wall, and guess what they are gonna pay for it...and the wall just got 10 feet higher. Get building or get goin mate
The wrathgate and the horde having to retreat was more the legion's fault but the draenor thing is right.
Loud noises xD
I want Jaina back. Shes one of my lore favorites
Hey
I love the Horde, but yeah the Sunreavers aren't really great. Still they are Blood Elves which is a race I love, but the Sunreavers themselves are really bad.
Also too won't that wolf girl thing eat the rabbits instead? For the Horde!!!
Jesus man, das nog eens een character naam.
Yo man why you so anti horde, its funny you mention the purge and paint Sunreaver as bad and painted the purge as it was okay.
Well that's easy. Sunreavers are bad and the purge was okay! ᕦ(▀̿ ̿ -▀̿ ̿ )つ
booooooo
no they didn't, there was a traitor in the mix and Aethas knowing the bell was being stolen never made it into the game.
right :/
he never mentions he knew just wanted to explain him self, it could of been something like; oh we had a traitor in our mix, I couldn't stop it, etc...
second
