I did not realize there was something special you had to do to unlock good old max. According to WoWhead these are the requirements: Ìn order to start the quests for this guy you will need to have done the following: * Complete his questline in Un'goro Crater. * Have done/unlocked the Class Hall Follower from Broken Shores (7.2) * Be in your classhall (You wont see the mail till after you go to your class hall) If you hadn't done the ungoro questline earlier you have to wait for a week or a weekly reset, for maximilian's letter to arrive to your mailbox.
Unless you put this in the description aswell, why not pin your own comment to make it appear on top of the section, just so people down have to look through to much? Also.. I love Max, his questchain is still one of my favorites!
Hey Nobbel, could you do a Lore video on the Goblins? I feel their story is interesting and worthy of getting greater attention from players. Since I don't see them as getting taken so seriously and sadly ignored mostly by Blizzard in the story of the game.
He will not only release it, but slay it mightily in the name of Doloria!* * It'll actually just be a small kraken, and it'll just wash up on shore near him and die on its own
Not going to lie, Nobbel, watching these videos are making me inclined to roll toons that I never thought I'd roll (or roll again and keep on my ranks). This looks like so much fun.
Still stupid that a night elf ghost is a paladin follower. I'd have preferred a Scarlet Crusader. Maximillian is a gag character, obviously. Joseph the Awakened would have been a funny second follower. If a ghost, why not Uther's ghost or something. Why some noname night elf ghost. Delas was stretching it, but this is just ridiculous.
CrackAlecIn why is a night elf Paladin pushing it we already know that Paladin's get their powers from different places and night elves can be priests so why can't they simply just pick up a melee weapon? I mean tyrande is a priest archer
Qwerds because why are they having two of your very limited number of followers be a race that aren't even playable paladins? And one of those two "paladins" is just a ghost that they label as "retribution paladin" when he was from an era before there were male night elf priests. Before Vanilla WoW time, druids were always male, and priestesses were always female (as priestess implies), as were Sentinels (though that may have more to do with all the males being asleep in the Emerald Dream). So we can't even be like "Nerus can be a paladin because he must have been a priest when he was alive." He can't logically have had any experience with the Light. Now the roster is: 3 Humans 1 Draenei 1 Blood Elf 1 Tauren 1 Filthy Halfbreed 1 Light-Nathrezim 2 Night Elves, and one is a ghost with no Light experience who should logically feel excruciating pain channeling the Light, being undead.
Night Elf Society went like this: After the whole Well of Eternity nonsense, most men became druids and they all went to sleep in the Emerald dream. Women became the warriors, hunters, and priestesses and ran the society while a majority of the men slept. The warriors were mostly Wardens, who don't wield the light. Tyrande never did because she's an archer and priest, make no sense for her to pick up a weapon shes not trained in.
Qwerds We don't see him do anything having remotely anything to do with the Light, nor do we hear any mention that he was a priest in life. He could have been a druid because he's a man, if he'd lived later than the War of the Ancients, but I'd err on the side of caution and find it likely that he was probably either a mage, or just a wealthy noble. He (unintentionally) sold his family's souls during the War of the Ancients, back when the only night elf druids (outside of fairy tales of Night Elves leaving to live in the forest, which were looked down upon by mainstream Night Elven society) were Malfurion, and Illidan for a brief period before he gave up on learning druidism in favor of continuing with the arcane. So I think it's safe to rule out him being a druid. And he was a pretty well-to-do guy, not living far out from Night Elven civilization, and there's no evidence to suggest that he discovered the Light independently of the Priestesses of Elune, which would be very mainstream, and if he had stumbled upon it, he'd probably go to them and be like "hey, I have Light powers too, we should probably look into how I got them." So I'd rule out him being a priest either. To the best of our knowledge, all we can be certain of is that he was likely the head of the Moonfang family, given his acting to secure all their safety, so he was probably wealthy. Apart from that, we have nothing concrete as to him being even a mage, but all evidence of the time he lived rules out him being a priest or druid. So there's literally no reason for him to be a paladin follower. It's just dumb. Delas I can let slide, but even that I wasn't super pleased with, because I'd rather the other paladin characters be developed, but Nerus is a freakin' ghost. And he gave in to the Legion so easily. He has not the skills, temperament, appearance, or even the basic inkling that he's a paladin.
oh I remember maximillian from Un'Goro, ah the memories. you know who should be a follower, John J Keeshan (aka world of Warcraft Rambo) not sure which class hall he would belog to though, maybe hunter since he's a bowman.
Psykho Anonymous yeah, the quest where that happens is literally titled: AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHH!!! cause Keeshann is going Rambo with the tank's machine gun while you run over the Blackrock Orcs
Imagine the Highlord having to coax Maximillian into doing Order Hall missions for them. "Doloria was.. uhh... last seen at the Broken shore! captured by.. a..a very specific Dreadlord! Go kill it _(and bring me the loot...)"_ "What's that? It's been 156 missions and you still haven't find Doloria? _No waay!_ Well don't worry, you can always trust your Highlo- I mean, squire's advice. She's probably... hiding under a rock by this monster you should totally kill and loot for me."
+Tyler Johnson I honestly have no idea how he isn't. I guess there were some idiots in charge of putting him there that actually believed his mental ramblings and his false stories and decided to let him free to "save more damsels in distress" and the other things he is "good at" doing to "help people". Lmao.
You should read the WoW chronicles to us. Like a youtube series. I would love to sit by a fire and listen to Nobble's sweet and intoxicating voice lul me to sleep.
Max's story reminds me of "El Quijote de la Mancha" from Miguel Cervantes. You are the squire, like "Sancho" who's the Quijote's squire. In the book, the Quijote is an old man that daydreams of being a knight errant going on quests to earn the love of Dulcinea (Doloria in this case) even fighting against giants that just happenened to turn into wind mills the second he attacked them, filthy giants.
Anyone else think Blizz is trying to tell us something with the nelf pally followers? Like possibly Nelfs getting to become pallys or something? I mean its a playable faction race set up as a class they can't be for players. I mean it doesn't sound too farfetched to me given that the near future is going to have a lot of Void in it; hell I'm still trying to wrap my mind around Ret bulls and that was a few expansions ago XD. But that's just my thoughts anyway
Those are both equally possible too (locks for Draenei and druids for Belfs). I mean Nelfs getting to be mages - that was another class addition that was against the race's original notions, but then it was given to them during Cata. That class addition was a growth change for the faction; that could mean the same for other factions to grow and gain new classes to play.
We got late ones. Everyone else has a follower that GIVES them so asset and then joins with them to acquire it The paladin one, Delas is like "highlord, I have family issue, please go solve it for me."
Hey Nobbel! I know (or atleast, I presume) your main is your Paladin. Do you also find that the most fun class to play or are you having fancies for another class?
I also find it the most fun to play yeah. There have been a few classes that caught my eye like demon hunter for example, but the survivability of a paladin just makes it my favorite.
awwww man i was like what is he going to say about the part where max just runs off to jump from the side of dalaran ... and than there is not a word about it =< makes me wonder how he got up there >.>
"You have not aged well" Which reminds me, how many years have passed in canon since Vanilla? I know there was quite a time skip between WotLK and Cata if I recall. If we all started our adventures as fresh young faces then we'd have to be pushing mid 30s by now wouldn't we by Legion?
Turns out since my character is vanilla old that I had to redo the cataclysm version of the quest for it to flag as done. Popped in the mail about a half hour later
Anyone else realize that Maximillian might of hit his head as a child, and he thinks way differently than we do? Don't get me wrong I don't hate him, just don't care for him. Still too it would be funny if the other two "Damsels" came and Max was all like "Ummm...This is not what is looks like!" The Blood Elf Male and Human Female just shrug.
I didn't get the letter from Maximillian, but it doesn't matter. I made my paladin during Wrath, and he was level 80+ during Cataclysm, so I had no reason to go to the Un'goro Crater at the time. To be honest, I'd rather be the Highlord than the squire of some delusional knight. Besides, I already got 2 active protection paladin followers.
Hey Nobbel, Kerjigger here. It's not often I comment on posts, but this one you seemed to make a pretty huge error? Not sure how considering that you're THE lore guy. For some reason you made it sound like Maximillian joins your crusade at the end of his legendary questline. But it is in fact him allowing you to lead his army in his stead. Some factchecking would be awesome, plz. xx
I did not realize there was something special you had to do to unlock good old max. According to WoWhead these are the requirements:

I didn't even have to get the mail to start the quest, it just came to me. I got the mail after I'd already recruited him.
"Be Paladin" is missing from that list. :(
Unless you put this in the description aswell, why not pin your own comment to make it appear on top of the section, just so people down have to look through to much? Also.. I love Max, his questchain is still one of my favorites!
I think I would rather let the legion win, than "recruit" Maximillian.
Hey Nobbel, could you do a Lore video on the Goblins? I feel their story is interesting and worthy of getting greater attention from players. Since I don't see them as getting taken so seriously and sadly ignored mostly by Blizzard in the story of the game.
I really thought Doloria was going to be that Blood Elf guy from Un'goro.
if you do the questline from the start he already knew Doloria
''Hes quite naked, only holding a stick''
Oh... I thought I left my cam on for a moment.
dat tiny stick in pant, u know
If paladins got Maximillian, why didn't hunters get Johnny Awesome? :(
Or Harrison Johnes
like how dhs should get illidan
Illidan is the true master of the Illidari - Even Lady S'theno says that. lol
Thats a damn good question...
Cuteigu best follower evar
*Maximillian becomes your champion
He's going to end up freeing N'Zoth from its prison somehow, isn't he?
Saving this for later I told you so.
BunnySkinning Plot twist: he is actually N'zoth
and revive y'shaarj
He will not only release it, but slay it mightily in the name of Doloria!*
* It'll actually just be a small kraken, and it'll just wash up on shore near him and die on its own
This is one of my favorite characters and I'm so glad he's back!
From Un'Goro Crater to the Garrison, to the Broken Islands and then to the Paladin Order's Hall! Maximillian journey has something majestic in it!
6:17 Uh....Nobbel....when did your paladin become a part time shaman?
it was a mighty xama creature of the beach with power over the earth.
Or maybe it was a magical Leoploridon
I love Don Maximillian Quixote, but Leeroy would make an equally funny gag Pally follower.
Ah at least we have his chicken. In the Order Hall.
aohige wasn't leeroy already a follower in wod?
(I didn't play wod but I heard that he was)
Not going to lie, Nobbel, watching these videos are making me inclined to roll toons that I never thought I'd roll (or roll again and keep on my ranks). This looks like so much fun.
I bet that at the end of the legion we have to kill mobs while Maximillian takes on Sargeras
Hehe.....aaaahhhhh, He's gonna die immediately, and then maybe his spirit will come back, and we can mock him, that would be great
maybe he wins beacuse Sargeras is to confused over him :D
With maximilian in our side the legion has no chance! xD i love that guy

Qwerds We don't see him do anything having remotely anything to do with the Light, nor do we hear any mention that he was a priest in life. oh I remember maximillian from Un'Goro, ah the memories.
you know who should be a follower, John J Keeshan (aka world of Warcraft Rambo) not sure which class hall he would belog to though, maybe hunter since he's a bowman.
philippe blais well... he died.. if i remember correctly.... and hunters should have keeshan.... i think he was hunter...
I often go back and play through redridge just to do his awesome questline, especially the mission where you drive the tank.
There's a TANK?!
Psykho Anonymous yeah, the quest where that happens is literally titled: AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHH!!! cause Keeshann is going Rambo with the tank's machine gun while you run over the Blackrock Orcs
The Milk Cult of Sisyphus burning steppes actually. that sucks, it would be cool if Keeshan recognized us.
Imagine the Highlord having to coax Maximillian into doing Order Hall missions for them.
"Doloria was.. uhh... last seen at the Broken shore! captured by.. a..a very specific Dreadlord! Go kill it _(and bring me the loot...)"_

An illusion, what are you hiding!
Something is not right...
NonsensicalVids who goes there
I've sacrificed everything. What have YOU given? Oh... yeah... wrong group... still... listening to you lot it doesn't sound that edeglord anymore...
How has Max not been locked up in whatever passes for a looney bin in Azeroth? He's clearly a danger to himself and others.
+Tyler Johnson I honestly have no idea how he isn't. I guess there were some idiots in charge of putting him there that actually believed his mental ramblings and his false stories and decided to let him free to "save more damsels in distress" and the other things he is "good at" doing to "help people". Tyler Johnson He's too powerful to end up in the Violet Hold. Since when did you, sir, fight a storm demon?
Nobbel we will always support you!
They should have made Marcus the second follower.
gerlach1025 so he bangs all dem girl followers in your class hall no thanks m9
Not just girls...
Blessing of Protection can only get one so far - I feel that would backfire in nine months or so.
Al. C. - idk, I could see Marcus doing his part to keep some of the fairer portions of the legion occupied while we sneak into the tomb.
gerlach1025 he will get owned by the first succubus
You should read the WoW chronicles to us. Like a youtube series. I would love to sit by a fire and listen to Nobble's sweet and intoxicating voice lul me to sleep.
Maximillian is hilarious. I hope in the future we see him fight a dreadlord without a shirt on.
Beast n' Brushes You mean Don Quixote?
That's exactly who he's based on, the crazy coot. I love this NPC.
Anyone else think Blizz is trying to tell us something with the nelf pally followers? Like possibly Nelfs getting to become pallys or something? we need draenei warlock or at least rogue ones
if they give Blood elves druid to even things out i will accpect this

rdogg114 well there was a sort of Belf druids in Burning Crusade in the Botanika
DKHZStudio yeah thats why i want it to be a actual race class combo.
We got late ones. Everyone else has a follower that GIVES them so asset and then joins with them to acquire it
The paladin one, Delas is like "highlord, I have family issue, please go solve it for me."
Lame*
"Squire of Azeroth! I write to you in our darkest hour! From the Depths of Un'goro Crater, I have Returned!"
Sound Familiar?
"I am, I Don Quixote, the man of La Mancha, slayer of evil and I!"
pants of wonderment?! awesome lol
He's like an amalgamation of King Arthur and Don Quixote
Please make a hunter class order hall soon!!
with our attack on Argus coming up there might be more followers to collect, any ideas on what they could be?
awwww man i was like what is he going to say about the part where max just runs off to jump from the side of dalaran ... and than there is not a word about it =< makes me wonder how he got up there >.>
Nobbel, you should have said, that Maximillian only writes you, if you have done his quest chain in Un'Goro.
Maximilian is my middle name awesome! Also this guy feels like a oc fanfiction character, and his sword saids like the Mexican Excalibur XD!
What the heck was that at 6:19?
Maximillian is my favourite follower! I will mis him badly in the next expansion :(
hey nobbel do you think the scourge can raise demons from the dead before their soul goes to the twisting nether
LMFAO! this vid was hilarious. I like it :)
does Maximilian unlock with the second to last Orderhall Trait?
"You have not aged well"
Which reminds me, how many years have passed in canon since Vanilla? I know there was quite a time skip between WotLK and Cata if I recall. If we all started our adventures as fresh young faces then we'd have to be pushing mid 30s by now wouldn't we by Legion?
wittyreviewer I do believe so I think its been 7 years
That's weird, I've had Nerus for weeks and never got a letter from Maximillian
Erik Bell do the Q line in Un'Goro and then wait a week.
Turns out since my character is vanilla old that I had to redo the cataclysm version of the quest for it to flag as done.
Popped in the mail about a half hour later
Erik Bell Interesting 0w0
Maximillian of Northshire: still a better follower than magatha grimtotem
when does Maximillian give you a letter?
can you only get him as alliance paladin?
Is there a Prerequisition for Max?
Yes, you needed to complete his quest chain in Un'goro.
Anyone else realize that Maximillian might of hit his head as a child, and he thinks way differently than we do? Don't get me wrong I don't hate him, just don't care for him.
Still too it would be funny if the other two "Damsels" came and Max was all like "Ummm...This is not what is looks like!" The Blood Elf Male and Human Female just shrug.
rcshaggy 7 but the human died. he kicked her off a cliff
nobbel I need to sleep for work dammit
what the hell? why is there a Night Elf paladin? is this some for shadowing?
What skin is that?
Someone like good old Max just had to be added.
So night elves can be paladins now?
Lunier esque well i guess they have to include some night elf paladins so illidan doesnt look weird with light wings
why couldn't they have named it excalipor
I think Maximilian would benefit from a nice simple old fashioned lobotomy.
Max's items are basically named by Trump lol
I didn't get the letter from Maximillian, but it doesn't matter. I made my paladin during Wrath, and he was level 80+ during Cataclysm, so I had no reason to go to the Un'goro Crater at the time. To be honest, I'd rather be the Highlord than the squire of some delusional knight. Besides, I already got 2 active protection paladin followers.
Kek! Maximillian is such a Don Quixote!
best follower since manastorm.
04:50 Bitches of the broken iles :O
We are not worthy of the mighty Maximillian!
hey there!
Some factchecking would be awesome, plz. xx
8:52 - "Maximilian invites us to join him as a follower, lead his troops and perform missions for him."
Leroy Jenkins should've been the follower
just because
i think max is more of a joke to those roleplayers out there
maximilian is based on Don Quixote, one of the greatest classic novels.
Hey Lmao its good old Max.
"knight-errant" heh
ahh max...
I forgot how... weird he was...
enough nelf pallys blizzard
Excaliberto brought me here
but she was desquised as troll.
But... but Leeroy?...
#EarlySquad
so...nobbel can't fly...poor guy
John Gillespie can't blame him, he's been pushing out all these class videos. I'm more amazed he's had the will to do each class!
Except that he flies in the vid...
Wtf is the point of a dreadlord disguising himself as an Eredar?
paladins have gotten gold this expac...except for their class mount. It's a horse
as a warlock i know your pain.
Hey
Hello from the otherside
😂
I haven't watched the video yet but i am hoping for maximilian of northshire
Yeeeeeesssss
thank god i am a dk.....
Necroking Darak I hear ya on that one. Best part of our classhall was getting to smack down some of those prissy-pallys at Lights Hope.
Ya, and they tend to die easily, so how do we expect them to fight the legion if they are to busy falling down to the smallest pebble.
1 powerful champion and 1 not so powerful champion.
800th like
old max...lol
Dat accent. I can barely understand a thing.
Nobbel we will always support you!
