Subconcious readings can already give you a good sense of what someone is feeling based on body language. Full on knowing every detail conciously is like a superpower on its own
All of these are great! Well, all but #1. Crossing your arms is actually a self-soothing method. The toughest people, such as bosses and leaders, cross their arms more frequently. This is because deep down, they are scared. When someone crosses their arms, it may SEEM like they're armoring themselves because they always seem so tough, like a shield or a sword, but it's really more like a one-person hug. Keep up the great work, Psych2Go! (My favorite of these was #19!)
Tbh I'm afraid of crossing my arms during conversations because its comfortable but since for me, I look like I'm not interested even though I am listening, so i stopped doing that, after watching this, I now have the confidence to cross my arms again, Thank you so much😂💜
Hi! I just want to let you know that I'm grateful that I found this channel! You just don't give us informative video, but you also make us aware of our surroundings and how we're supposed to act in different topics (in a good way). I also love how soothing her voice is.
Oi in 5:05 there is a mistake. In Greece the head movements are same just like the rest. In this particular example only in Bulgaria this is reversed. ( I can confirm 100%)💕💕💕💗🥰😊
That what I remembered!! For a minute there, I wondered if I was losing it... I don't even know about Bulgaria, but (should I get there) at least, I'll know to look out for it. ;o)
I think the only thing people get confused about in greece is the two nods we do. Downwards nod means yes, upward nod (followed by raising your eyebrows or clicking your teeth like "tsk") means no. Which I can see why people would confuse it, but it comes so natural to me 😅😅
The point of small touches is something that I’ve always agreed on. I’ve used it when talking with friends and people I didn’t even know and, have wholeheartedly appreciated it when received.
Body is language is so so important!! YIKES I always cross my arms on dates! I wonder if dates think I'm closed off... I realize I do a lot of these body languages during dates!!!
If you actually like the person you could just be nervous. I know from personal experience that being nervous can make you do things you wouldn't normally do. I suggest being upfront and honest with your date if your worried about sending mixed signals. After all words can mean more than body language in some cases. Good luck out there !
Ben Brice yes when I get nervous I get awkward and do things like cross my arms! This only happens when I like the person though and it feels weird to address it? Like I don’t know how I would bring it up without sounding even more awkward
@@SamElle Yeah I know what you mean. It's probably nothing to worry about like most things that cause anxiety. Lol After all if your having a good time I am sure it shows. Itll work itself out with the right person.
2020 was the year I started looking people in the eye. Alot of traumatizing things have happened in my life which has made me more confident in my own way.
Heyy! I really enjoy these videos! And the thing that i was really surprised about, is the way of the head shaking difference, that you mentioned Bulgaria and Greece: in Bulgaria, it really also depends on the facial expression, that's why when someone is using it this way like us, we look at their face to understand the meaning, especially with foreigners!
Wow, you guys have gotten SOO big!! I remember when you guys had not even 500k. My favorite channel ❤️❤️ Keep up the amazing work you’re doing for all of us
Ikr!? Crossing your arms is SO comfortable. I mean, If I have to get rid of my comfort to have a conversation with you, I’m leaving. I just genuinely cross my arms.
Okay- so the moment I saw small touches, I felt happy because I have a cousin that lives in California and I only see him during thanksgiving, usually when I’m tired or seem upset he gives me a small pat on the back or head and honestly it makes me very happy and I know that I definitely bond with him, he’s more of like a brother to me. Little things like these can make a person feel every nice, safe, and comforted, especially with me since most of the time I get stressed or anxious easily
the eye contact is a big thing for me. been through a lot when I was younger. I didn't look anyone in the eye or at their faces for years, didnt smile for years. now I can and with the right person it is the best thing goin :) the instant connection, recognition of someone that I have always known and feelings I got when I was talking to the young lass I met a few weeks ago was so incredible that I wont forget it
Take up rope splicing and macrame... Your grip will improve as you improve your "Turk's Head" knots and "Fox and Geese" decorations as well as backsplicing and making quality "eyes" in three-strand "twisted" lines (the simplest to splice)... It's relatively simple to learn, and decent spliced ropes are in demand. Lots of people want them, will pay for them, but do NOT want to do the splicing themselves. ;o)
@@anuragsosa Okay, bear with me here. I used to have terribly weak hands... I bought those "grip exercise" gadgets, and even regularly spoke to the coaches in middle and high school, trying to improve them... Then I joined the Navy, and became a "deck ape", and splicing ropes and decorative knots became a way of life. As a hobby, while you will spend money on things like guide books and the cord, rope, string, and seizing thread (waxed nylon) you will work your hands by untwisting the twisted ropes enough to feed strands through. At first, it's easily exhausting, but as you repeat it over time, you'll improve until (like me now) you will be able to crush food and soda and beer cans in your bare hands. AND you'll be able to get useful loops and back-splices in ropes people will pay you money for. They'll even ask for (commission) specific sized loops and stuff. Macrame is decorative knot-work. The "Turk's Head" and "Fox and Geese" are terms for making a specific knot or pattern of knots and weaves with cord of whatever size befits your project. In fact, recently I sold a plain piece of old pipe with a Turk's head at either end, and a series of half-hitches (they spiral around along the pipe) between the two ends for about $200 (U.S.)... so I turned about 7$ worth of colored cord and a piece of junk into a $200 piece of art... AND got the exercise to maintain my hand strength... You can probably Search "Macrame" as well as "Rope splicing" to get some of the specifics online. The thing is, you're going to be grasping hard and pulling on ropes and cords to get the knots and splices tight and proper. It will work all the muscles that pertain to your handshake, granting you at least the option to give a solid firm grip when and if you wish or need it. Just my experience, but those spring-loaded grip gadgets don't seem to do the job... at least not for me. ;o)
@@gnarthdarkanen7464 Wow thanks for the detailed explanation. But what's the point of this. Maybe I too have a weak grip but I'll not go this far to improve it. But it's your choice. Good luck.

We often tend to believe in one's body language when words and actions contradict. Learning how to read body language is indeed a useful skill especially in building deep, meaningful relationships with the people we love. BUT NEVER ASSUME. If unsure, ASK. ❤️❤️❤️
I've heard from multiple people that I only ever look either tired or stoned, though I am never stoned and rarely tired. that's probably why my very emotional, very energetic talking style comes at a suprise.
I’ve watched the entire video and thought it was quite nicely done. I’m not sure what your comment is about unless your phone or computer has glitches and only shows your portions of the video. Perhaps maybe in this case you’ve got yourself. Or perhaps you could explain and change my mind
I once talked to a Greek lady when i wanted to pet her dogs when i was 10. Among other things i asked if they would try to bite me, and she noded, so naturally i backed off a little scared. Then she quickly started shaking her head after realising what happened. I've also been on vacations to Greece many times and noticed people doing that same reversed thing. I guess that some people do it reversed, and some don't? I'm sorry if you are from Greece and i sound like i'm trying to correct you, of course i wouldn't know better than you, i'm just saying i saw a couple of people doing what they mentioned in the video
@@fluffy7804 While I can definitely tell you that nowhere in greece does shaking your head left and right mean yes, that isn't the case for nodding. A downwards nod, that starts from your head going from up to the down position is a sign for yes. This is also true for repettive shaking of the head up and down. The opposite upwards nod, followed by raised eybrows or a clicking of the teeth ("tsk") signifies no. From what I've noticed this is what actually confuses people with nodding in Greece. I hope I've helped clear it out a little :D
@@fluffy7804 Maybe they emphasized on nodding their head upwards. When the motion is focused on going from up to down it's a yes and vise versa. Thought the video was about when they nod, mostly facing down,it's a no. Also, your comment made me remember the nodding motions,so it's everything but rude or "about Greece a foreigner is correcting a Greek"😂.
A body can say many more things than words. This is why people are failing to communicate in real life, when in social media body language is unimportant
Okay i immediately have something to say. Crossing arms is often for self soothing purposes. So it does not have to mean you are closed off or dishonest or reluctant in sharing information. It might actually show discomfort in the situation (which yes, can also cause a more closed off social position). It is more a sign of feeling the need to self soothe than that you are defensive.
Growing up I didn't know the importance of body language because my anxiety was so bad that I never looked at the other person directly unless something really grabbed my attention that it was the only thing on my mind. All the talking I did was just online, usually in text but sometimes on the mic. This changed when I got in VR to get rid of anxiety. Between being shocked at how much I move around when I talk since I thought I always stood/sat still (because I recorded some videos of myself out of curiosity), and seeing other people move around when they talked in VR, I started not looking away so much in real life and realized just how many tiny little signals we subconsciously give off all the time that can actually change how we interpret a message. So yeah, body language is actually a big deal. Crossing arms - Sometimes I hear that it's not actually being defensive, but subconscious trying to relax a bit because stuff can be stressful. Hence why people can cross their arms when getting into a heated argument as well. I used to cross my arms all the time because I had tons of anxiety, but I don't do it so much anymore because I'm not getting stressed out that much when talking to people. Slouching - Yeah it could mean that..... Though in my case 9 times out of 10 slouching is just because I'm tired. Make sure you get your sleep guys! =p Tilted body - I mean I do this all the time even if I am interested in the topic, but it's generally because seats IRL are placed at inconvenient locations if I want to be comfortable, and in if I sit in VR I like putting my legs up on the couch and it's a little weird to have my legs pointing towards people. With that said though, if something catches my attention hard enough my body will subconsciously shift towards the person even if it's not comfortable. Repetitive motions - Yeah another thing like crossing the arms. Just a thing to relax. I feel like I always do something like this subconsciously, especially if I'm standing up. Direct eye contact - Very similar to the tilted body thing really. Types of smiles - Not much I can say about this *shrug* Hand Shake - I always hear this. While there is some truth to it, I try not to shake too hard. People have squeezed my hand so hard that it hurt for hours so many times as a kid that I make sure I never squeeze too hard. How hard/soft you should shake the person's hand depends on the individual person too. I always find it really strange, but then again most physical stuff feels strange to me because I always kept my distance from people IRL most of my life. Imitation - This is actually a very very easy way to become better friends with people quickly. While this thing is usually subconscious, it can be a good tool if used consciously. I've been doing it from time to time and it can help break the ice a lot sometimes. Also, this is a tactic that people like to do when they are trying to sell you stuff as well. This also extends to anything else about you, not just body language. Leaning forward - Again with the slouch thing, I usually do this because I'm tired lol. Though for people that are actually awake, yeah, not much to add here. Raised eyebrows with no signals - When my eyebrows raise it's usually out of surprise because I wasn't expected a certain response. With no other signals I'm usually just tired and not actually disatisfied lol. Raised eyebrows with signals - Like I just said, usually it's out of surprise of what someone said. Being attentive is kinda implied because if you weren't, you wouldn't really be emoting. Proximity - Yes it can be an indicator of how close a relationship is, but don't forget that other things can effect the distance you have between you and someone else as well. Of course when initially starting a conversation you'll probably be farther away and as a conversation continues the distance will get smaller overtime to a point. Flushed Face - .... I mean yeah. Can't say anything else about this. Stiffness - Lieing or hiding something. I haven't thought about that specifically, I just always lumped it with the typical stuff you get when feeling anxiety. After all, when my anxiety was at it's worst, my muscles would stiffen to the point of getting really sore at just the thought of leaving the house. So I always figured feeling stiff in general was just a general nervous thing, just on a much smaller scale. Blinking - Can't comment on experience here because I've literally never payed attention to how frequently someone blinks (unless something got in their eye lol) Lip movement - Licking lips meaning you're attracted to someone? I haven't crushed on many people so I wouldn't know. After my first relationship being practically perfect and lasting for years, I've been just super picky ever since then, especially since I got too many projects to go mess with love. Small touches - Yeah... This is just so common everywhere that I can't really say anything about it. Head motion - Interesting, I didn't know that at all. Just one of those things that's important to look up when visiting other places. Just like with anything else social, a lot of it is just learned overtime by seeing how other people act. Indirect eye contact - Yeah those 3 things are the most common. I used to not look at people because of anxiety, because looking at people would get me so nervous that I wouldn't be able to continue the conversation. That's not the case anymore, but now whenever it happens it's generally because I'm falling asleep and I don't want to just stare at somebody because I'm looking at their body movements of my exhaustion. So I look away so I can focus more on what they are saying.... I'll say it again, make sure you get sleep everyone! Talking to people is much much easier when you are actually awake and not running on 3-5 hours of sleep for multiple days in a row. =p
"5. Direct eye contact" Me, being kinda asperger and not being able to look at anyone in the eyes, not even family or closest friends: ahah well uhhhhhh
Okay I couldn't not say anything for the Bulgarian and Greece part!! I am bulgarian myself and I have a family in Bulgarian but I also have a Greece one. I am very happy that you put guys put those country's in the video it made me smile knowing that you are actually giving something that is actually correct =) Keep up the awesome work!
Ehh, we do kinda have it backwards, but not completely. I mean, we do nod when we say yes, but usually Greeks nod upwards and click their teeth (tsk) when saying no. We certainly don't shake out heads when saying yes tho lol
Hey can I ask something? What do you do when you see your friends having fun without you and then your anxiety makes you think they don't need you anymore and then that makes you lonely and mad so you don't text them and then you see them having more fun without you because you're avoiding them which just makes you more lonely? But you don't wanna confront them because you don't wanna seem like you're looking for attention and you don't wanna seem pathetic for asking for reassurance?....this is totally not me at all in any way, shape or form and there's no way to prove otherwise...👀
I think that you should try and talk it out. I know that it might be hard and a bit embarrassing to ask ,but it will make you feel better after. You'll be more confident and won't need to stress. Also, people put their best moments on social media not worse. Something might look nice but it may be the opposite. I once talked about my feelings to my friend and I felt better after our conversation. Also, try planning activities with them to have fun and maybe grow closer!
Ofcourse I have noticed in me and my friends and I will make sure to understand them better , you and your team are doing an amazing job , love you psyco2go channel
I also learned that having your arms crossed could mean that you're comforting yourself, like giving yourself a hug. You could do this in an uncomfortable situation
So there's this girl who goes to the same school as me, she said , "I love the funniest kid in class " aka me. Do you think she likes me or am I detecting just friendship.
You mean like a stretch pose? Could be that you're just needing a bit of stretching? What do you think? Similar to how some people need to massage their necks after long talks.
@@Psych2go personally, my opinion of understanding . When someone is touching or reaches for there neck, anywhere, it's them trying to comfort themselves. Usually during a stressful event or when they feel uncomfortable. Again my opinion on this matter through my experiences as a person.
Me: *looks straight into my mum's eyes when she talks to me* My mom: you're being rude and disrespectful Psych2Go: nah she's just giving you her full attention.
This is really good information and something that is a need to know. People don't realize that their body language sometimes will speak so much louder than what they are really saying. I am taking notes on this message so that I will always have it handy for a reminder. Thanks for this information. ✌✌👍
Greece does not have the head motion the other way around, shaking your head up and down basically means that you agree with something while shaking it left and rifght means no.I do not know what their sources was but as a student here in Greece i thought i should share this.Overall this was a great video,i learnt a lot!
Firm handshakes actually aren’t universal, depending on the setting. They can be even consider rude or aggressive/confrontational in the wrong context >.
I just realized that mirroring is 💯 true! I initiate it a lot especially to a stranger, and those who are with me always also has my qualities already, like my voice, even my eyes shape, and the way I am, I could see it to some. 🙂
The slow blinking suprised me lol. I learned that cats blink slowly when they are comfortable. So I adopted the slow blinking whenever I wanted to show that I'm calm and relaxed around an animal or a human. But I guess this makes sense too XD

I don't even know about Bulgaria, but (should I get there) at least, I'll know to look out for it. ;o)

They're normal in Bulgaria nowadays as well. Although they were probably flipped before the '90s
I'm bulgarian and yep you're right
I think the only thing people get confused about in greece is the two nods we do.

They might! Do you cross your arms with every date?
If you actually like the person you could just be nervous. I know from personal experience that being nervous can make you do things you wouldn't normally do.
I suggest being upfront and honest with your date if your worried about sending mixed signals.
After all words can mean more than body language in some cases.
Good luck out there !

I do weak handshakes cuz I'm weak generally XD I can't even do a strong handshake
Lots of people want them, will pay for them, but do NOT want to do the splicing themselves. ;o)
Lol. You're not alone in this.
@@gnarthdarkanen7464 I don't understand what you're talking about
@@anuragsosa Okay, bear with me here.

Everyone who comments how great the video is hasn’t watched it, got cha! 🤣😘

I’ve watched the entire video and thought it was quite nicely done. I’m not sure what your comment is about unless your phone or computer has glitches and only shows your portions of the video. Perhaps maybe in this case you’ve got yourself. Or perhaps you could explain and change my mind
Or you actually watch the video while perusing the comments and only comment at the end or when certain topics or ideas are brought up
What did you think of the video?
4:09 In a previous video you stated that FAST blinking is linked to lying because it conveys more emotion and focus
In Greece it's not reversed 😅
Other than that, the rest are pretty interesting.
Thank you both so much for clearing it up for me! 😊❤
A body can say many more things than words. This is why people are failing to communicate in real life, when in social media body language is unimportant
When language doesn't work best
Body language does the rest!
Not agree! Well, give time a chance.
4:00 I'm won't be lying or hiding anything but I'm an awkward introvert so my shoulders and limbs tense up when I'm nervous....

@SkyleeKates That's what I meant 😅
Tilted body - I mean I do this all the time even if I am interested in the topic, but it's generally because seats IRL are placed at inconvenient locations if I want to be comfortable, and in if I sit in VR I like putting my legs up on the couch and it's a little weird to have my legs pointing towards people.
Types of smiles - Not much I can say about this *shrug*
Hand Shake - I always hear this.
Blinking - Can't comment on experience here because I've literally never payed attention to how frequently someone blinks (unless something got in their eye lol)
Lip movement - Licking lips meaning you're attracted to someone?

Me, being kinda asperger and not being able to look at anyone in the eyes, not even family or closest friends: ahah well uhhhhhh

I am very happy that you put guys put those country's in the video it made me smile knowing that you are actually giving something that is actually correct =) Keep up the awesome work!
i live in Greece and I'm pretty sure nodding here is yes and shaking your head from side to side no. if im wrong tho, pls tell me😊
That's correct.
Right? Shaking and nodding the head aren't flipped around. It's just that an upwards motion of the head can also mean "no". But that's it.
Thank you! I was about to comment that!
*Γνέφοντας καταφατικά*
Ehh, we do kinda have it backwards, but not completely. I mean, we do nod when we say yes, but usually Greeks nod upwards and click their teeth (tsk) when saying no. We certainly don't shake out heads when saying yes tho lol
Ppl think I'm uninterested bc I don't make eye contact when they talk but I'm just too shy to look someone in the eyes. Trust me, I'm listening.
My older sister is like that😂 she thought I was taking away her best friend, which I was just having a conversation with her
