Yeah this stood out to me so bad, considering the amount of DV cases he already had prior. If the neighbor had been armed he could have legally defended his dog and his own safety due to living in Texas. Not that anyone wants to do that but that’s the only good thing about living in Texas.

This reminds me of my former landlord. He was an orthopedic surgeon who was fired from a bunch of hospitals for unprofessional behavior, ie screaming and yelling and threatening people. He then sued the hospitals. He tried to sue me for damages that I did not do so I counter sued him and he had one of his temper tantrums in the courtroom and started screaming and throwing things. He was kicked out of the courtroom and dropped by his lawyer and I won the case

I went to school with his daughter, who lived only a block from my house. On at least one occasion he purchased pizza for the whole class when we were kids. Luckily Dr. Ortiz was not involved in the preparation of the pizza.
That's crazy. It's weird when you have a close connection to a case like this. I lived in the house of a murderer that he was living in when he committed the murder. My family also rented a house to someone who's toddler disappeared in a camping trip a few years later.

Medical professionals don't get screened enough mentally as much as they really should.
Many complain that they're fatigued and burnt out and we don't screen their adequacy to perform their work duty throughout their employment?
Makes no sense to me. More experience doesn't always mean better. In fact more exposure to trauma can mean someone with more issues....
If it happens to soldiers how can we deny nurses arent repressing trauma and aggression in the same if not similar way?
@@CarterR444 In fact, it's proven the older the doctor the less accurate in the diagnostics... although I doubt new doctors are competent in the long run given they need to perform according the "standards of care" of today. The whole system promotes simpletons to perform mindless and tedious tasks or just very morally laxed people.

I work at a hospital and its the same as everywhere else. He probably knew someone important.
He knew that he was being investigated but persisted anyway. That's delusional AF. There are cameras everywhere these days, it would be difficult to get away with anything other than in private areas such as patient rooms.

Fascinating because my sister was an anesthesiologist for years at one of the best hospitals in the USA. She is a bully. She physically abused me growing up constantly. I have scars. People would never believe that underneath her brilliant medical mind is a monster who thinks she is superior to others. She is retired now. Meanwhile, she got my mother and herself addicted to Ambien. She is arrogant, sadistic, heartless, loud, angry, greedy, self-absorbed, and abusive. Street Angel/ House Devil.

As someone who works with anesthesiologists, this isnt true. They do hang fluid bags and are in charge of infusing fluids and drugs during an OR case. But as he said, anyone but the techs stocking the supplies putting anything IN the supply areas is weird.
I’m an anesthesiologist who does my own cases, as many do. I absolutely get my own gloves, IV supplies, airway supplies, draw up my own drugs….someone may bring me an IV bag during surgery when I can’t leave a patient who’s asleep.

Granted there are situations where they must but usually very demanding and act like children when upset. They have a very important job but all that and the pay goes to their head. There is a whole category of serial killers dedicated to the medical profession. It's very creepy to think about how easy it is to be a victim in a medical setting.

The police jokingly thanked the individual who burglarized the hospital before the tampering. Because of the burglary, cameras were installed which were used to catch Renaldo. Too bad he was not prevented from doing it in the first place. There were signs that he should not have been allowed to be a doctor

All medical facilities should have cameras! The amount of head shaking I've been doing in bewilderment over this case has made my neck hurt. I mean, why was this guy allowed to work in a medical facility considering his criminal history and incidents of incompetence?
It should be noted that the US has a very low standard for becoming a doctor compared to Europe.

@@jimmyboy1582 Anesthesiology would be one of the easiest specialities to commit crimes against your patients because of the constant administering of drugs. Hospice nurses would be another. If either wanted to kill patients, had the means, and spread the deaths out over enough timeframe, they could very likely get away with it for a very long time.

In our mother's nursing home, a new aide exhibited disturbing behavior i.e. telling one family member that her nonverbal mother and dementia roommate vere "talking up a storm giving patients treats out of her pocket, with her bare hands and performing unautorized procedure. She was reported and fired, but there were at least three unexpected deaths before she left. She was the daughter of a physician.

One of my brothers fell 40 feet out of a tree (don't ask) years ago and broke his back in several places. Before surgery the surgical team assembled in his room and he looked each one if them in the eye and asked them if they liked their job. I wouldn't have thought of it but if you put yourself in their position, it would have made you more apt to not get careless.
In a position that requires the most trust from the public and has the potential to do the most harm. Yet no one thought a violent person maybe shouldn't be allowed to continue in this line of work.
It baffles me. No one with that history would be employed in some fields.

Unbelievable. I have taken my mother to the ER on various occasions when she did not feel well and she was very vulnerable, watching these video has caused me to feel slightly concerned. Most of the time we take our family members to the hospital is when they are at their lowest and they need help, but knowing that there are medical professionals who seek to harm their patients will always be in the back of mind from now on.

As a retired nurse of almost45 years I can tell you from experience to stay away from hospitals at almost all costs. I have never witnessed anything as egregious as Raynaldo's actions but I have seen errors some possibly malicious that scared the shit out of me
(Like doctors putting people on vents with no versed to sedate them afterward).
There are many things that go wrong with the body that will resolve with time without medical intervention.
My wife is always getting mad at me for avoiding doctors (except for my blood pressure meds) but I have found that the longest living people do so by taking care of themselves.
I even avoided (The Jab) and did get pretty bad C###d but my own immune system worked as it should.
Combination of sociopathy, incompetence, and a medical license.

It's actually absurd how little DV is taken seriously. If a person is aggressive enough to harm or constantly scream at their partner and/or kids, they should not be in positions of authority over others, such doctors, nurses, cops, etc. It shows that they are willing harm people close to them as they see fit. Why would that not transfer to strangers?

Extraordinary that this guy was still licensed to practice as a physician after repeated convictions for serious violent offences. In the UK system his licence would have been revoked for professional misconduct. There is something fundamentally wrong with the US system if violent people are still allowed to care for vulnerable patients.
That’s Texas. My state suspends immediately and we lose our license permanently at any conviction.

I had a double hernia surgery many years ago and I'm fine... Well, as long as I take my meds... Lol! Seriously tho, I was just telling someone today (who was complaining about doctors) that Emergency, Pediatric and Surgical medical professional are so focused on providing excellent patient care that you rarely receive substandard treatment... although scary, doctors like this guy are rare.

@@Veracityseeker7unfortunately DV doesn’t disqualify anyone in the medical field let alone in other professions we as citizens rely on. I fully believe we as a country need to take DV more seriously with professions especially with public safety. The amount of cops, judges, DA, governors and other politicians that are able to work that have a DV case on them is incredibly disappointing and disheartening.

I was wondering why he would put that combination in an IV bag If he was trying to kill someone, but I listened to part of your video again and you stated that you don't think he was trying to kill anyone but trying to create a medical emergency that could be handled successfully, which would show that this could happen to any other doctor (basically, that's what you said ...Lol). The anesthetic (Bupivacaine) should generally 'cause things to slow down' (such as the heart rate/breathing) but the Epinephrine (adrenaline) is given (I've done it many times) to INCREASE heart rate/blood pressure in someone in cardiac arrest. It's actually the first medication given. This combination would do exactly as you stated. It would create the problem (slow heart rate/decreased blood pressure) and 'treat' it at the same time with Epinephrine which has the opposite effects (increased heart rate and blood pressure). This would definitely create some 😲😳😰 moments in the operating room.
I like your theory but why would he ignore a patient in distress after his actions like he did in the first story? Good theory though.
@selecttravelvacations7472 I'm talking about after suspicion fell on him. That's when he injected the IV bags so that other doctors would experience the same sort of thing he did (to take the spotlight off him). That's why he rejected the IV bag in surgery. He knew it came from the heater (where he placed the 'bad' IV bags). He wanted another doctor to use it, their patient would experience the same side effects... which would divert attention away from him.
There is no way he was playing hero. There was no way to know which patients got the bags ..exactly what happened.
@ArtistCreek He wanted to kill people. I think his bags had only anesthesia and Lidocaine. The other bags (after he was under investigation and wanted to show that this sort of thing can happen to other nurses/doctor) had Epinephrine in them.

There's so much news nowadays that coming up with my own opinion on these matters has proven to be a most exhausting affair.
Now I just listen to Dr. Todd Grande give his take and pretend afterwards that I came up with it myself.

You are so correct Dr. Grande ! There are those who are so insecure/ angry/ troubled / threatened etc., that they will do whatever is necessary to bring another down to their level.
This guy had more red flags than a Kim Jung Un rally.

The scariest thing I have learned over the past few years is that many doctors are not the morally upstanding and caring people they are expected to be…so many instances of them making careless mistakes, intentionally hurting patients, and choosing profit over patient health
We regularly hear about the prevalence of subclinical psychopaths in law enforcement, I'd be curious to see some study done on Healthcare providers.
I get the feeling that there is something about medicine, being around death so much that some people develop a very morbid fascination/obsession with it which leads to deliberately causing harm.

While that could be a possibility, I doubt it. From my experience working in hospitals, you experience the living way more than the death. While the deaths are hard, it’s not as common as you think. Especially for an anesthesiologist. If anything, my speculation is that he was already predisposed to deviant behavior rather than the field of medicine influencing it. For example, his many arrests for domestic harm.
I’m a physician and no one that I know has developed a morbid fascination with death. Please recognize the guy is mentally ill and please don’t make generalized statements that you don’t understand or made up. Link me to a reference please. People.

I don’t think working in medicine caused this man’s deviant behavior rather he came to the profession already baring a high level of psychopathy. Unfortunately it can be attractive to such people due the the prestige and power over the lives of others it hands them. He was a really bad man and didn’t stop being one.

This is just pure psychotic behavior. He should have never been allowed to practice medicine. I had wonderful anesthesiologists when I had my two c-sections for when my sons were born. I cannot even imagine the horror those patients went through!
You are at your most vulnerable when you allow people who are almost strangers cut into you while you are unconscious. Why do we let them do it. They swore an oath to do no harm (and have medical boards for oversight). At the first whiff of weirdness, this guy should have been taken out of the rotation.
I've always looked askance at the American practice of stand alone surgical centers that function as islands in loose connection to a major hospital. Less eyes, less oversight.
Poor patients had to suffer this fellow's pathology. Usually we can defend ourselves against this kind of evil... but, in hospital, under anesthesia... geez give us a break!
This story reminds me of the statistic on psychopaths, sociopaths et al. In a general random sample of 100 people, two of them will be psycho something. However there is a top ten list of professions where this number is much higher. General surgeons are on that top ten list. Perhaps they should add anesthetists to that list since they help general surgeons. This guy is a monster.

Diabolical!! It always stuns me how a once caring and kind physician can turn to such malevolence. Very sad that those innocent people died at the hands of his unsuspecting colleagues.

I feel so bad for the patients that were affected.
It’s crazy how the hospital allowed this to go on for so long and harm all those patients.
In my experience, doctors don’t even know where the warmer is. I’ve never seen a doctor open the warmer or retrieve their own IV bags. And believe me, enough people in the surgical rooms saw this guy in action and knew he was dangerous and incompetent, their obligation would be to submit incident reports which in my hospital are required to be followed up on.
His violent offenses and charges should have been a warning to those who hired him. I worked in a hospital for years, and believe me, we never saw a physician stocking supplies LOL. An anesthesiologist stocking a warmer is a very odd sight. That is usually done by CNAs and techs. Why would Raynaldo continue spiking the bags when he knew he was being investigated? It's like he wanted to get caught.

Unfortunately, as an CRNA I've seen some twisted MDAs who I'd watch like a hawk, documented by a** off. Everyone would know who these ppl were.
I'd walk into rooms that had nothing on a patients charts in hours long cases.
There are ppl like this in every field.
We do everything the system will allow to keep ppl safe.
Hospitals are $$$ lovers. The administration is frequently knowledgeable about the person's dangerous practices.

Yeah like that "doctor" who invented a plastic trach tube throat implant and was inserting it in patients not caring that the plastic was causing infections and people died, but he was touted as this genius doctor. I don't think he went to jail

I had an allergic reaction to my anesthesia and my anesthesiologist literally saved my life. You are never more vulnerable then when you're unconscious. I'm grateful for what they do, and man it is scary as heck that people like this are out there.

one of the australian current affairs/news programs covered a story last night of some people (3-5 mostly women) who were brutally bullying another woman with cerebral palsy that they were supposed to be caring for.
being australia they were still given the absolute minimal punishment, despite it being CLEARLY caught on hidden cameras.
hoping to see dr grande cover it if possible.
not just to have some level of insight into these monsters, but to expose them on a worldwide level, and not just on australian TV.
Sadly it goes on everywhere. Reporting it does nothing. I don’t know whats worse. Monsters or the enablers who make it all possible? Thats why God made a very special place for these people.

As someone who requires regular infusions: new fear unlocked. 😐
As a RN for 45yrs I've never used unwrapped IV bags by unknown others. Most Nurses don't, we take the factory sealed outer wrapped bags, and access the bag ourselves. This adds security. Pharmacy, medicating the bags fir use, sends them to the Nurses under locked conditions. So if you get infusions where do they come from, a pharmacy, or foes the Nurse unwrap them from factory wrappings ( looks like waxed paper).

Only 5 minutes in and I'm already like, so this man had a history of assault, arrest record, he shot someone's dog, had documented malpractice incidents, and he was STILL allowed to work in the medical field!? Even if he didn't have a criminal history, if you're in trouble at TWO medical facility, how is revoking his license to practice or AT THE VERY LEAST suspend him until proper corrective action is taken even a question!?
I really love hearing your opinions on people who do things like this. It helps me understand why people do things like this to harm another human or humans.
Why does nobody stop surgery after like.. the 4th or 5th unexplained heart attack within a couple of weeks? Why let it go up to 12 before anyone seems to care? It's the Lucy Letbe case all over again.
Some years Ago, here in Brazil, i don't remember names but, an anesthesiologist got filmed by nurses abusing a woman during birth!
