Actually as soon as you add a 3.5mm Jack it stops being lossless because you convert the signal from digital to analog. The dream is to get a direct USB-C to USB-C connection working. Still looking into it but it's not looking promising right now. If you want wired headphones there's way better options out there for way less money. That's why I settled on this compromise :)

I was going to do this, until I found out I would lose the ability to use my cord. At times I do use the cord. Great to know this is an option though.
I'm using the cord rn on my PC, gaming with noise cancelling on is the best thing ever.

I wish he offered an alternative for the audio thing lol I use my AirPods Max daily for gaming and they sound fantastic, would've loved an option to use them wired while charging since Windows bluetooth is so cheeks lol

Apple made it pretty easy to repair apparently! I'm also impressed at how simple the whole thing is, and how stuff just comes right off, no adhesives.
No more plane entertainment system or using the free earphones from the airline. Anyway 👏🏻 to the creator of this kit and also to you for the info.

It seems like the Lightning to 3.5mm cable for the airpods max is pretty special, so I'm not surprised the usb-c one you showed didn't work. I wonder however if using the genuine lightning adapter via a usb-c adapter could work?

I was cleaning my spacebar while watching this and learned something...
While I already knew , and . (< and > but without shift) on the keyboard could change a video frame-by-frame, I did not know that holding spacebar makes it play sped-up in case you want to hurry ahead past stuff. Neat!

I tried those in store and they were not louder than the airpods pro. They didn't sound bad but there was nothing magical about them either. I thought there would be WAY more clarity to music but truly they are just oversized airpods pro
Anti clockwise screws are used in fairly specific cases
I made mine with wireless charging in 2021 :p the good old days. When airpod max had the best NC
i think flat head screw might be a better option to hammering out that bracket ? Since you are not gonna use that lightning port ever again, its ok to damage it

Does the 3.5mm adapter works with a DAC enabled adapter? out of curiosity, since that might be it...
The different screws directions are probably because of vibrations by the driver to prevent the case to come loose, theyre interlocking itself

I'd like to know how to fix my airpods max from constantly disconnecting. It has to do with that tiny lightning-like connector on the ends of the head band. I'll clean the connectors occasionally and then they are fine for a while, but always end up acting up again.
btw, I think you should get a mini electric screwdriver
I worked IT for a while doing only moderate work with screwdrivers and my wrists got rekt
I wonder if some high strength alcohol and some time on the heat pad would loosen that glue from the frame. Still would likely need to be tapped out but maybe less forceful.

The USB-C headphone adapter not working is no problem because half the time they don’t even work with the lightning the headphone adapter.
Few yrs ago,some rebuild an Iphone,put in SD card slot,sold it for $85,000 on ebay. How hard would it be to do that with Mac book laptop? Do you think you could do that? Not sd card slot,but sim card slot. Or msybe both.

I'm working on a silly project.... Bought some XBOX/PC/3.5mm 4-pole microphoned universal headphones at GoodWill for $11. They sound great, but I don't like wired headphones .... So I'm going to transplant the amplifier from another stereo Bluetooth device, and add a battery. Hoping I can stuff it inside the earcup housings, but I truly never know until I feel like trying. 🤷 😅
They will probably make a Pro Max 2 after AirPods 4 and Pro 3, we don't have H3 Chip yet and the Pro Max is hella expensive, make a new version only for USB-C at that price... Sure it's Apple but it's not a good idea

Apple's USC-C headphone adapter are for output only, not input. They wouldn't work with this in anyway. What you need to try is a USB-C to 3.5mm MALE jack.
Wait, i had a genius idea, someone should make a magnetic screwdriver, that when you pressed the end of it (like a pen) the magnet would retract and drop the screw
i feel like at this point, most of us could say "We Did What Apple Won't..." just by being respectful and fair.
Now do it for older iPhones 😃 and AirPod pros
