Link to tools I use: woodspirit.net/products-i-use/ I carved this out of one piece of Silver Maple. It is my first snake walking stick and I put a meditating frog on top of it.

Nothing more frustrating than cutting a good stick then having to wait over a year for it to dry out before carving etc, fantastic work though mark, I love it, thanks for sharing
Great video. The meditating frong is the real catch though
Good content. I’m beginning my first snake stick and your work gave some good shots on getting down far enough to see what’s coming.
I know you probably already a few sticks by now but you should check out Stinnett sticks.
Good Job Mark !!!

Thanks. I used oil paints - like you would use on a canvas - for this one. I think they have a little bit better look than acrylics but that might just be me. :)
Mark Hanson thanks for that I wanna try using paint in a future project so thanks keep up the good work loving your channel
Cheers

Great job. Did you let the wood dry for a certain time or just cut it and use it
I let it dry for about a year and a half. That's usually good enough. It probably has some moisture in it at that point but will dry out as it is getting worked on.
