Two things I really enjoy about this:
1. The careful attention to detail that was put into the piece
2. The gentle and considerate handling of wild reptiles
same here.
and there isnt a bunch of yappin' these are done just perfect
I like that too
Agree completely and was thinking exact same things😁👍
how much do you sell that for?
This man literally caught a wild lizard and used it as a model for his project. This guy is one hell of a man, I'd be honored to learn from someone like him.
lizards are easy. what impressed me was he got it to hang out while he used a freaking dremel.. and changed heads on it.... i mean... that lizard wasnt worried about him at all lol
I have no words. You were carving with an electric tool next to a wild lizard and the animal stayed calm. I guess I am not the only one that found this carving relaxing.
you literally caught a wild lizard and used it as a reference while you carved it.......... my mind is blown! Amazing talent and art
Thank you, Katie!
@@StinnettSticks do you sell these there amazing
I love the way your little friend set there and modeled for you. Another great one thanks for sharing. Still waiting on that bird of pray stalking the snake
Haha! I was surprised he was so cooperative. I had fun that day. One of these days I'm going to be doing a bird of prey stick. I think it's a great idea.
little lizard: NONONONONONONONO
also little lizard: oh i guess i live here now
@@StinnettSticks very smart leaving that western diamond back be, they have pretty nasty venom, hemotoxic if I am not mistaken.
It amazed me the lizard staying still on your hand as you carved .
Me, too! He was a great little model.
They like the warmth. I used to have a 2.5' iguana hang on my back. Iggy. RIP
The little guy was amazed to see himself being made from wood
The little lizard knew he had nothing to fear, and so became immortalized :) I agree, this and all your carvings are museum pieces.
When I use power tools I have problems with the wood fuzzing up. How do you prevent it?.
what a gentle honest soul. this is some really great wholesome content
Sure enough. It's what the world needs more of. The guy's blowing my mind away with his talent and calming spirit.
@@banditnip0345 right?
This was amazing, great attention to detail. The lizard was just like, “ok get my good side”
Your carvings should belong in a museum since they are so beautiful you’ve inspired me so much thank you and pearl you are so cute cuddled up in that blanket keep up the amazing work and thank you for inspiring me.
Thank you, Jakob!
I can see myself watching this early on a saturday morning. This needs to be a PBS show!!
Oh my gosh, yes!!! I would absolutely record it!

Nobody like PBS These Days. They have become increasingly infiltrated by Radical Socialist Marksist Activists. To Bad At One Time The Entire United States were listening to their News Because back then it was Truly Balanced and trustworthy no matter what your political point of view. And to add, you're basically the Bob Ross of Wood Carving! 😁⚒️😎
I could feel your confidence and peaceful life.
Absolutely stunning - what a splendid achievement - extremely gifted gentleman. A wonder to behold - experience at its best.
Thank you, Abel!
I’ve seen many of his videos and am constantly amazed at his gift
Thank you, Joe!
You have a beautiful and gentleness soul. The lizards was not scared of you. And the Little fence lizard. Very calm laying on your hand. As you carved the likeness. On your walking stick. Gorgeous carving. The lizard and snake look real. You have a blessing for carving from the Lord. You have a Blessed day.
CAME ACROSS YOUR CHANNEL BECAUSE IN INTO WOODWORKING, SPURRED ON MY MY MODELING HOBBY. THE BEAUTIFUL RELAXED AND CAREFUL SETTING YOU SET INTO YOUR PEICES ARE ADMERABLE. KEEP UP THE GREAT WORK.
This is beautiful and I love the side quest for the fence swift! I can't believe he just chilled with you modeling! Not just a master craftsman but a lizard whisperer too!
My man is an artist, bushcrafter, illustrator, overall badass AND apparently the manliest Disney princess in the world, how in the world he made a lizard pose for him in his hand is beyond me. Also Pearl is the most precious thing, outstanding work.
WHAT?....Are you kidding me? This is absolutely beautiful! The level of detail is nuts! Wood carver, sculptor, painter, wildlife enthusiast....what the heck! Just...just....awesome!
Pearl wanting the blanket to cover up all cozy was just too adorable ☺️
Ladies and Gentlemen, a Level 20 Druid in his natural habitat...
:P
😂😂😂
My 7 year old and I are watching this and we both called you a wood wizard! I just got a rotary tool... I could have never imagined this.... This is so amazing! Just wow
When you started burning the scales in I thought that was a super cool touch.
Beautiful work as always. You’re like the the Bob Ross of the woodworking world. Beautiful carving and painting and such a soothing voice that just flows. Awesome work sir
Thank you, John!
I love his calm while carving *.*
I like you already. You are a good soul. I can tell because of the way you care for your dog and the way you gently care and respect nature.
Ever since I seen one of your snake walking stick videos I watch a lot of your creations. My 6 year old watches with me. When people ask him what he wants to do when he gets older he says he wants to be a Carver. Your work is very inspirational. Thank you for sharing your videos.
It does my heart good to hear that! Thanks for watching!
My daughter showed me your videos, I was amazed at how talented you are, thanks for sharing!
4:10 I like the way of the blue belly lizard stopped, for him to sculpt its appearance
so cute
Hats off to your patience man
What a peacefull and beautifull video. Thank you for making my distress go away.
Lizard: *"draw me like your french girls"*
This man: :)
The most interesting thing was to see how Mike negotiated with the lizards. As always impeccable work at the highest level!
Thank you very much, Alexander! The lizards were very cooperative for me. Haha!
This man got the wildlife to basically pose for him. Amazing.
Your attention to detail is awe inspiring. You obviously love these creatures and the wood itself. Thank you.
Thank you very much!
I kept expecting the lizard to move, even while you were still painting its eye!
It saddens me that I probably won't ever be able to afford one of your sticks, but at least I have your videos.❤
Ever thought of making a walking stick with a raven on it. Thats the name the Eskimos gave me in Alaska where i lived, its Tulugaq in there language.
I definitely want to do one with a Raven on it someday.
@nuff said Haha! I'll try to hurry!
This is admirable. Cute old man and his sweet dog pearl living in the country making beautiful wood carvings and wild lizards trust him too. Gentle peace at its finest.
When you're scrolling through your recommended, and see a video you know you're going to enjoy! 👌
Love your dog btw 💙✌
I Truly appreciate your talent and generosity in sharing your work with us.
God Bless 🇺🇸
Love the use of UV setting resin on the eyes it really makes them that more realistic
It really works great!
one of the most Patient men I have ever seen.
The way the lizard "modeled" for you was awesome. Another beautiful walking stick.
Thank you, Steve!
My name is Daniele, I'm from Italy, I'm 9 Years old, I love your Walking Sticks. The animals look true, they are really beautiful!
You Sir, are the greatest artist I have ever seen.
So realistic.... there's no way I would keep one of those in my house...
But the art of it is just mindblowing...
Congratulations, how good it is to respect mother nature
that burning stencil for the scales, was so cool!
4:57 all of those great stick's you make !!! And I see yours by your back door !!!! 😕 give Pearl a BIG hug for me !!!!! 🐕
Haha! Yep, that's my original Beaver made stick. It's fancy enough for me ;)
@@StinnettSticks I know what you mean Mike !!! 👍
Its GOD's Gifted and Blessings in his Crafting Field, wonderful, wonderful
Not only has God given you great skill, he has granted you patience unlike any I have seen. I’m so glad I stumbled upon your page. I’m now a subscriber, and look forward to catching up. Thanks for sharing with us.
Never disappoints watching the Master at work with his trusty side kick Pearl. Thanks for posting you are an inspiration.
I miss living in San Diego. We had blue bellie's every where and they just come and chill on the porch while I was out there.
Your very talented and passionate also patient and that lizard just loved being with you
Now that is craftsmanship... I would like to learn to carve one of these days
Yet another beautiful museum quality work of art. Watching you create these sticks is like watching Leonardo da Vinci paintt the Sistene Chapel. Its a privilege to see a true artist at work.
Neat.
Absolutely Beautiful work! I like how the wild lizard sits still as if to say; yes please, immortalize me in wood.
I had a male Boxer. He would lie down on his dog bed, and I would tuck him in with his blanket and that's how he slept all night.
I fully understand Pearl wanting her blanket. :) Cheers
Thank you very much! The lizards were very cooperative for me. It was a bit cool out and I think the enjoyed the warmth of my hands.
Never in my life would I ever use that walking stick, its just to amazingly beautiful to be used! ❤️❤️❤️
Your work is amazing. I have been searching for a while for someone who is an artist in this medium. You have amazing skills, thank you for sharing your work with us.
you're exceptionally skilled with a beautiful demeanour

Sir u are the best Carver for me, because I also started carving by seeing your video and got a new tips from you
Always amazed by your talent! Pearls markings on her side the 4 spots almost looks like a deer track!
Stunning masterpiece
Look so realistic..
Pleasure for eyes..
I'm in awe! Sir you have a wonderful gift! Not only with wood but also with animals! The lizard stayed calm in your hand while you were using an electric tool making noise ! 👏👏👏👏👏👏 Congrats and thank you for sharing your beautiful art!
I'm just starting to learn wood carving, you are definitely a master!
Thanks to show a way, an opportunity, a vision of peacefulness...
This is so amazing, so detailed. Love little Pearl too.

And The Artist
Oh my gosh!
This honestly moved me to tears, good sir.
You put SO much love and soul into work of art.
You can truly feel the spirit in your work.
I have a blue belly fence lizard that I hatched from an egg 2 years ago and hes been a pampered baby ever since.
I honestly think fence lizards are one of the best little companions.
I think I've found the king of walking sticks most impressed
It's been quite a while, but it's good to hear from you !!! It is a beautiful piece !!! I adore the detail in the scales and colors !!! :3
Dude are you like a lizard whisperer?? They was so calm in your hand it’s crazy!
Fabulous. Gandalf would endorse this staff. Nice backyard, too.
The drop of UV resin on the eyeball instantly brings the subject to life. I love these videos.
Was waiting for a video for some time...and finally it arrived.....though not the first one...but happy to be among the first 100 to watch it...
I believe the long lizard you were holding is know as a alligator lizard. We have them all over California.
And they usually like to bite hard.
This is straight up druidcraft, that lizard calmly rested on your hand while you were carving, amazing!
I havent made walking sticks in 20 years..... wow i cant believe im old enough to say that... im starting again....and i just watched this video and i think ur are a craftsman to aspire to.
Thank you, Dakota! Great to hear that! It's always a lot of fun to see how a stick will turn out.
The only thing you lack is the ability to give them life.
Other than that, perfect!
He does though, he gives them life through his art
You are an artist, my friend❤
Mhmm
good observation, sherlock

personification of the phrase: the road will be mastered by the walking.
meditatively, calmly, purposefully.
my respect)
I’ve never gotten a lizard to stop long enough for me to look at it, you just had a wild-caught one pose for you. 🙌
Yes, I was happy that the lizard was so content to help me carve his likeness.
Thanks Mountain Man!!! So enjoy watching your Artistry. We must give Pearl a blanky!!! I Love Lizards! They are my friend's!!! Praise God for making the original's!!!
You have some Awesome Lizard's there!!! The big one looks like some type of skink. Are they cold??? I've never seen them that calm to pick up in the wild LOL. So adorable how God gave it no fear, even with the noise of your tool and carving for this video!!! Bless The Lord Most High!!!
LOL. Love that New screwdriver sanding block!!! Genius!
You're very welcome, I'm glad you enjoyed it. Yes, lizards are one of my favorite creatures that the Lord has made.
i kind like the way you interact with nature and your extraordinary talent what a soul.
You had a great model, very cooperative the little guy.
Really amazing!! I love it!! :)
Hey Pearl: I sure love watching u...just pure talent and enjoyment...maybe one day I’ll get out ur way and can bring tea and cookies! Take care my friend and bless u all...thank u again...question: what Dremel do u suggest for my wood working projects. I’ve taken up the lathe...we have mostly Chameleons, Skinks, and a blue type lizard and Eastern Diamond back rattlers, cotton mouths and my favorite a copperhead which bit me! 6 mo. Of agony! Be careful up there. We are retiring and looking to move ur way...so beautiful. Gonna build a small cabin with wood stove for the cabin and small pot-belly for my wood-shop...gonna also have a green-hse to start and grow my Veggies 🌶what mastery! U are wonderful...that looks so real!
Thank you, Mike! Hope you can get out here someday! I would just start with the tools that I could afford and work up from there. I get my carving handpieces from treelineusa.com You can give them a call and PJ will be glad to suggest the best thing for you. Be sure and tell them Mike sent you!
Something very relaxing about your work it’s phenomenal
Thank you carving wizard!
This is amazing il give a100000000 points for this great work
Should do a beach one of a pelican sitting on 3 wooden pillars
Amazing craftsmanship, no questioning that. But it was Pearl so very peacefully chilling on your lap while you were working that earned the subscribe from me!!
Watching these animals come to life under your tools was astonishing. I thought the clay model of the lizard was already a masterpiece and couldn't possibly be reproduced in wood, let alone improved upon. But then you did. Amazing work.
Even consider taking a pupils? It will be a waste not to pass that amazing talent to younger generation.
He actually has tutorial videos on patreon. Only way to watch them is to subscribe to him.
We are all pupils who watch these vids. I have learnt a lot.
