    The freedom of expression through abstraction is like no other feeling I know. No idea how I could ever live without it.

    Thanks for being honest in your feelings, but I want to encourage you. Your work is excellent, when the doubt creeps in-stop, breath and take a break. It was perfect when you got all upset, and while it ended excellent, you don’t have to listen to the doubt spirit! Keep on, you are so talented.

    Kathy I love these I’ve been studying pastel seriously for about seven months I’ve had some success but I’m feeling stymied I’m not feeling that freedom of creating. Do you have a plan when you start or do you just let go and follow your soul and your creative leanings.?❤

      I just follow my heart, but with that said I have a good amount of knowledege about colors and composition, so much so that it's a big part of me now.

    What brushes do you use to blend?

      Hi Julia, The brushes I use are inexpensive ones that I buy
      @sostrenegrene. Here is the link to one of the sizes I use: sostrenegrene.com/en-gb/products/creativity/paintbrush-p-b71d886d

    Hi what art book is it you are using size etc please? Love your work 😊

      Thank you Mark. The book I use is a regular sketchbook. I just gesso the pages before I paint. Do a search for kunst & papier or wire-o-sketchbook. It's 12x12 and has 140 gsm paper.

    Hi Cathy. Thank you for this video which is truly appreciated. You seemed to have a good start and then I got the impression that it was really just not coming together for you. At one point I did not know how you were going to turn this painting around... but you did and in a great way. The colour combination is really good and the line work is excellent and even more effective as you placed the lines over the three areas where you originally placed the grey mid tones giving a three dimensional effect. For me it's a snow scene maybe mid to late afternoon. So good! Colin. :)

      Thank you so much Colin. I did really struggle at the end. That inner voice kept telling me how bad this one was. Sometimes my head can be hard to handle. lol Anyhow, glad you enjoyed this one too!

    I love this thank you so refreshing you’re the best… I’m very confused are the paints on the brush you’re using watercolors or acrylics.

      @CathyMevik  4 роки тому

      This is the finished piece Susan. I felt the black lines were to overwhelming, so this is how I decided to finish it.
