Art journaling allows me to relax and try new things. I decided to use smaller brushes then usual in this one and it turns out unlike the paintings I usually create. Try switching things you would normallly do and see what happens! 💙💛🧡

Hello Cathy 👋😊 well after now having power without the generator for a couple of days and no cable or internet for a week it's so great to be able to watch your video now thank you for sharing it's beautiful and a big time joy to watch you create again in your journal and read what you wrote too stay safe and be careful 🙏🖌️🎨✍️💌 looking forward to seeing your next video soon ☺️
I really enjoy watching your videos because they are so inspiring. You make it seem effortless to painting such beauty; I notice that after you make markings with what I' believe is charcoal, you then use Gesso or white paint over the markings, and it doesn't smear. How do you accomplish this process?
Thank you so much.🧡💚💜 I'll be doing an online course in english that I hope to launch in the fall. I also offer one on one sessions, where I can help you get unstuck and where you can ask me any questions you might have. And if you should decide to travels sometime. Let me know and I will certainly help you plan your trip. 👍
@@CathyMevik yay, thank you, Cathy! Yes, as I mentioned on IG, my man wants me to visit Norway with him at some point. So I will DEFINITELY keep you posted.
What is the spray can? I finally stopped at the right spot but could not read the label. Also the colors in this one are so fresh and springlike. It's a joy to watch you work. Thank you so much for your videos.
Thank you very much. 💙 My book is by a german company - Kunst & Papier. It's called Wire-O and is 28 x 28 cm. If you google it you should be able to find one. As far as the blending goes I actually use water if I want a smooth transition. Other than that I dry brush alot. Hope this helps! 🌷
How much art journaling do you do versus other paper works, or even canvas works? Do you do more than you share on this channel? I really enjoy the art journaling. It’s really fine art on its own, isn’t it? I’m drawn to cool colors so this one is a favorite. Thanks. 😊
Glad you like it Frank. I used to be very drawn to cold colors too, so I can totally relate! I try to do something every single day. I film most of my journalpages, but then I work on canvas as well. You can see my canvas work on my website www.cathymevik.com and I also post alot on my facebook page as well. facebook.com/cathymevik.

Thank you so much! I use a brayer when painting over charcoal. That usually helps, but not always. ;)
REALLY LOVE THIS, Cathy!!!! I so wish I could be in Norway to take your course!!!!! A whole Continent away, alas... Love, ~ Ulrike

@@CathyMevik Thanks so much, Cathy. i love your videos and would like to see a series of you painting a large (or medium) size canvas.
@@jwinla3 I have that on my list, but not for this year. But as soon as I have the opportunity I will. Thank you. 🙏
Hi! I love your art!! ♥️ What book do you use? Love the size and it being square! Do you use a dry brush to blend the colors? Keep going! 👍👍👍

What is the thing you used to draw the small white lines?
That is a fine line applicator. Do a google search for it and you should find them quite easy. 👍🏼
thank you,
i will
Hello Cathy, i have a q. Plz, what kind of bryer you use i have noticed you switched a few brayers in some videos , is this one here a silicon one ?
All my brayers are silicon ones. They just have different handles. ;)
