My wife of 19yrs( passed 3months ago) made kaarage 1+ times a X week. Absolute family fave. Man that woman can cook. She loved japanese food having lived in japan as a child and again in her 20s. She spoiled us with curry tonkatsu ramen karrage. Sushi omosubi. She made it all. She love your channel. Damn I miss her. Love you jeanne.
Wonderful story. Sorry for your loss, but wishing you good vibes for the rest of your life. Hope these videos give you more good memories, ideas to cook, and to see you in these comments again soon!
Made karaage tonight. My daughter helped and we shared some good memories of jeanne. She wants me to do her moms egg roll next. We will do our best but there is no way I can match jeannes. We all miss her so much. Love you jeanne.
Im really sorry for your loss ❤ It seems like you have lots of wonderful cherished memories together, especially over food. Stay strong and lots of love from Australia
There is something honest and more intimate about this post, especially the beginning. I love that you started it with directions for a simple meal. The morning continuation feels authentic because it doesn’t seem produced or overly edited. The lighting and how you talk to the camera feels fresh, relatable, and genuine. There was something special and beautiful about this particular episode. Thank you for making it.
Keep being your organic and truthful selves. The uniqueness brought to this channel is built off how authentic you two portray yourselves. Love the content.😊
Possibly the first to watch, love what you’d done for my household, guys! Most days of the week, our meals are inspired by you! Aside from the access to the extremely fresh seafood 😅 Keep it goin’!
My passion is cooking and fishing / foraging. When I’m in a bad mood this is what I watch. You have taught me so much and literally are meditation for me… keep doing your thing and I hope one day we can link up and go fishing and so some catch and cook stuff! I stay in the bay too. Daly City to be exact 😎 appreciate all you two do!
What, you're supposed to yell about wrong meat and chiliflakes and and... How can one trust in anything in this world if people don't try to police how others make food anymore. 🤣😛
I have watched your content for over a year now and I love watching you and Joslyn. I also love that you treat the environment with the utmost respect and only take what you will eat. Everything you make looks delicious.
this 2 guys are just too cool, my dad being a fisherman watching them do what they do brings back memories of mom and dad, makes me wanna cook different seafood, well done as usual.
I watch all your videos and my two favorite things are just enjoying how much you live a very simple, but apparently a very fulfilling lifestyle. The other is watching your knife skills.
Hi Taku and Jocelyn. I have been enjoying your videos for a while. At first the distance from the rocks to the sea gave me the frights. Since you didn't seem to mind at all, I told myself to relax and enjoy the ride. Stay safe and greetings from Amsterdam.
You guys mean so much to me, I can't wait for new videos. With all the division in America and us probably being on opposite side of some issues, I love the two of you like you were family. Now if you get a dog, that's a whole new level...
Man you nailed the carbonara pretty good right there, looks super tasty, you totally deserve to know some secrets to make it even better (true og Italian tips) -Right number of eggs: usually we say "use one egg for each person plus one for the pot", basically n. of people + one egg -Use more black papper (ofc only if you like it), this dish was "invented" by miners and the black pepper its a reminder of the coal dust left on their clothes, also "carbone" means "coal" in Italian -Add a little bit of the boiling water from the pot to the egg/cheese mix before using it -Put salt in the water before the pasta goes in, also use a big pot with lots of water -Parmigiano is fine but the better option is pecorino chees or a mix of both of them -You can use pancetta (i do it too) but the OG recipe ask for "guanciale", its like bacon but with an even higher fat content ans some spices Next time I make some carbonara I can record the whole process and dm it to you, it would be fun, no joke Btw good content as always, love your channel 💗
you enjoyed fishing as much as anybody and you took great care in how you treated your harvest that was a delight to watch all in itself. Then you filleted your catch with such skill I learned a couple of things, then you're cooking made me want some and you're setting and you're company was the best. Thank You for sharing this with me
Where is my Sake…. Lol Joslyn with the fishing recommendations….. Always a Success and never disappoints. You guys are have one of the best channels… ❤
Am I the only one that thought the misaligned audio was a soothing way to end the video? We hear him say his outro line on every vid so the absence of it almost makes my brain say it softly in my mind 😌
Thank you for sending that chef's apron! Love it! Big plans for Thanksgiving dinner and yes I'll be sporting the new look! Thank you again for putting to time into this great product! Tight lines my friend!!
Went to Hinata this evening based on your experience there and my love of your channel. Best sushi I’ve had outside of Japan. What a treat! I told our chef as much. Then saw a killer production of La Traviata at the Opera House a few blocks away. What a great night out in SF. 🙏❤🕊
My husband is hooked on ur channel …. The shitty thing is he chooses to watch ur videos at 11 pm at night n always looks at me n says so what r u gonna make for dinner tomorrow 🤦🏽♀️😜😂 Love ur video n all the food u make 👍🏽👍🏽
Love your videos!! And sorry to talk crap about Okuma reels usually like em but I bought one of those ceymars only lasted a month and the drag is toast can’t even reel in a weight
You can't get any fresher than that, when it comes to seafood. First off that was a nice carbonara. Then, you made an outstanding fried fish, with the rock fish you caught. I do like chicken karaage very much, and you adapted the style of it very well, using the fish. It was a nice day to go fishing, and you got a decent catch. Cheers, Taku and Jocelyn! 👍👍✌️🎣#TakuTuesday
Looks delicious! Can't get fish any fresher, huh? I am a big fan of shishito peppers and am so glad my local grocery store carries them (along with many other Asian produce). Most peppers are mild, with one here and there providing a little heat. All have a savory and satisfying taste-- quick broil or stir-fry, a little oil, salt and pepper, and yum.
Love your videos, been watching for a few years and they're all great. Just a note for future videos - noticed an odd early sign off on this one starting at 29:13 that overlays the sound. Assuming it's just a post issue
Japanese fried chicken? That was the first dish I made with my new apron, I got it between this and last upload. Your mom makes some nice high quality stuff. Something I've always wondered when watching people who use right handed fishing reels. You cast with your right hand. Are you more comfortable with the rod in your right hand? Seeing people cast and switching hands before messing with the reel has always looked weird to me. I'm right handed and use left handed reels, so my rod always stays in my right hand. Rod in right hand, flip the bale, cast, use left hand to reel slightly and flip back the bale, no switching of hands. I think the reel left/right is confusing, seems backwards to me, but I think it's named from which hand is used to reel it.
This looks a lot like how we Dutchies eat 'Kibbeling' which is made from whitefish and beer coating. I wonder how delicious this tastes because it really looks like the kibbeling we eat here. I think with the hot sauce is an absolute banger 👌
Can you please go in depth on that knot you tied for your weight at 4:30 and while at it an in depth of your gear in general, hooks, and fishing knots? Trying to get more into salt water fishing but been more on fresh water lakes and stream’s for trout lately
I haven't tried fish that way before. I'm pulling the leftover halibut from the trip out of the freezer this weekend, and I think I'll try this on half the fish. Love seeing you two back, fishing on the coastline. Just surprised that Jocelyn didn't best you on the fishing, lol. (Also, you had uncharacteristic audio issues on this video.)

In an odd way the part I like the best about these videos is when he fillets the fish. pure artwork
Nothing warms my heart more than watching you two live your (and my) dreams
Say just two beautiful souls… Great content keep doing what you y’all doing… GOD Bless…

I love you two so much❤️ Such a cute couple.

Love your videos, been watching for a few years and they're all great.

Amazing fillet skills, great video look forward to more.
Would love to see Taku's spin on that weird Japanese KFC at Christmas dinner tradition.
awesome as usual! not sure if its my prob but the audio track seems abit off at the end..
Loved joycely actions and sound love your videos from nz raewyn
Japanese fried chicken? That was the first dish I made with my new apron, I got it between this and last upload. Your mom makes some nice high quality stuff.

I think the reel left/right is confusing, seems backwards to me, but I think it's named from which hand is used to reel it.
Looks delicious as always
Taku the Editing/Audio was off on this one bro LOLL I thought I was hearing sh*t 😂🤣
Ravens are appreciating you technique! LOL!
amazing vid as usual
i love carbonara. i just had some the other day. mine was with bacon and added some cream to the cheesy sauce.
I would have loved a good dipping sauce. Are those peppers hot?
Shishitos are like 1 in 10 are hot. It’s basically pepper roulette
Looks good. Audio was definitely weird on this one
That Blue Rockfish *just* so happened to be an expert diver in the Olympics
The way you said big ass waves random AF killed me 😂
Have you used tobacco bags when rock fishing? They are cheap and easy to fill eith sand and rocks. I love using them when rock fishing.
Uh oh some audio syncing issues during the cook and then some overlapping at the very end! But loved seeing you catch rockfish off the rocks! Miss it.
Can you post a link for the chopsticks/cooking tweezers?
I think you have a little messed up towards the end of the video, at the 29:14 mark
poggers video man, keep cooking them fish fr much love
My stomach started to growl as soon as I clicked on your video. Never watch your videos on an empty stomach.
Even the food you eat is never as good as his lmao
Best time to watch them, gets your appetite going
Totally agree with you bro 💯 👌 🙌
Bro is out here eating my dream food😂
I haven't tried fish that way before. I'm pulling the leftover halibut from the trip out of the freezer this weekend, and I think I'll try this on half the fish.
