PCM Unlock - 2015+ Mopar Vehicles

What is the process of unlocking it, I’m a tuner as well need to know how to do it in house for my shop

so there are some variables:
1) Its OBD unlock, you can tune boot mode this with many tools (GPEC2,2a,3 etc...gpec5 not possible yet)
2) Autotuner, Kess3 etc can
3) HPT then "should" work obd unhindered for read and write
4) But Likely you need a SGW bypass pluggin still after OBD unlock

Being in the Chicago Land area, can the smog detection systems tell the pcm is unlocked? Thinking about my 2015 Ram but have to pass the smog inspections also.

I stay nCalifornia have to go through a smog inspection also when I went up there last week they had problem with my PCM I had somewhat of a handheld tuner on my vehicle I even put it back to stock they were still having problems with it I got another PCM I just installed about 10 minutes ago I'm going to go up there this week

does the 2021 rt need any sort of harness to be able to be unlocked and tuned on the dyno? I was told my 2021 would require a harness of some sort.

no you shouldn’t you can purchase an unlocked pcm and throw it in yourself shouldnt take more than 15 mins

I have a 18 rt challenger I have a pedal commander on there. And I installed the unlocked pcm. I programmed it by doing what the paper said the car was getting power but won’t start. the pedal commander wasn’t getting power because the light wasn’t on I took out the new pcm and put back the stock pcm and it starts right up. Do you think the pedal commander had something to do without it starting?

It is hard to say without a proper diagnosis!

Pedal commander works with a locked PCM that only affects the electronic throttle nothing in the PCM. Sounds like the new PCM wasn't programmed correctly or vin coded to your vehicle

Unlocking the PCM just allows us to flash it, it does not affect the key in any way.
