- Dodge Challenger & Charger UNLOCKED PCM for more HP/Torque. The Stock Charger / Challenger / Ram / Jeep PCM is locked which prevents you from being able to write new files for added HP! Step 1 to modifying any Charger or Challenger 5.7L, 6.4L 392 or Hellcat is unlocking the PCM for tuning.
Dodge locked the PCM in 2015+ Models which makes it more difficult to tune & build horsepower. If you install an unlocked PCM dealerships will know that it has been altered.

I'm thankful that my '12 & '14 Mopars do not have locked PCM's! Super easy to use my Diablo tuner and tweak both cars to my liking. Thanks for a cool video, man!

It’s good to see you doing your own mods. The one thing you can get for your car is a gel battery I found out the hard way also you’re gonna have to make an investment and some tool soon …I can see more modifications coming for this car.😁👍
A lot more modifications are coming! But yah I upgraded my Chargers battery & it was so worth it. This 392 is going to be a very fun build
I went with a lightweight lithium that has a jump start function
The most annoying part about disconnecting the battery on an SRT is losing the performance pages, modes, and cameras for a short period. You can cycle through a bunch of times (varies) and it’ll eventually come back.

I took my bar out. Few more steps but much easier to get the PCM in and out.
Squeezing that PCM in/out is brutal! I don't blame anyone for removing that bar

Oh man they made it even more complicated in 2018. Pumped to finally have this installed - going to load up a tune once I do a few stock pulls at the drag strip

On the 5.7L there was some nice gains using the diablo & emailed tuning - we will see how the 392 does

I used to install everything (bolt-ons) myself until it got to headers/cam. That's a little over my head. I see so many of these youtubers trying to do it & they end up with a car always pulled apart / broken. Many are in over their head with these projects
@@RTLife Maybe I take for granted I have been building, repairing, and modding anything with wheels for 35 years, but I also recall having to start somewhere. That was melting a hole in the piston of my 1986 Daytona Turbo-Z. I was a teenager in HS and had to fix it myself since I didn't have a lot of $$. I can tell you from experience that cars today are much easier to work on than they used to be.

I installed Holly Diablo PCM. I also lost my u connect but it eventually came back within day. Now I'm installing procharger on my RT.

@@RTLife I bet. I probably wouldn’t know anything about working on anything if it weren’t for my dad. Now as we get older I’m teaching him a lot of stuff. Glad I still have him. And still healthy at 76. But, at that age you never know. Overnight something can break and everything changes. We just have to cherish them while we have them.

Just finished my Scatpack, 2020 rt Challenger... Did 4 revisions from the st logging, then i found a dyno to rent, did another 4 revisions on the dyno logging through my trinity ex. 8 tunes total. Daves knowledge and customer service is the best

I did mine a week ago on my 5.7 Challenger TA. The uConnect wasn’t booting up with my track pack features. It was the Blue UConnect features with basic controls. I left my car on, went inside to research the issue, came up with nothing, went back to my car and it all booted up again.
My man needs one on those tool sets that has sockets and wrenches.

1st step to building power!
Little worried there about the uconnect screen! Whenever you do anything with the electronics, I've found that you have to power cycle several times for things to work correctly on these mopars.

I will likely be doing emailed tuning until I decide to cam my 392. Once that happens you will see dyno results

How to change the vin on ecu if you ecu have the wrong one.
what if you don't return the stock PCM? they just charge you more? i'd want to keep it just in case I need to take it to the dealer or just in case something goes wrong with the new one.
I need some help finding a pcm from hp tuners . I have a 2022 dodge challenger 392 and when I went to the hp tuner website I only saw pcm for 2015-2021 dodge challenger. Would that work for my 2022 challenger ? Hopefully you can help because im having trouble since it’s my first time doing all this . I have a bbk 85mm throttle body , JLT cai , mbrp race series cat back exhaust . And all I need to install is my bbk long tube headers and catless mid pipes . Just need to find that pcm so I can get it tuned right away
Just got my diablo tuner in as well for my 22. I hate the fact we have to hook up a bypass cord on the passenger side now.
yah back in 2018 they made it a little more of a pain in the ass.

Went with hp tuners for my 19 challenger hellcat redeye...I bought a factory new computer from hp tuners unlocked....so if I had any problems I could always put factory computer back in.
Hp tuners is another solid option. I really like the all in 1 screen with the T2

I still haven't done anything. An unlocked PCM is still stock until you decide to write a tune
Curious, why didn’t you get the moded pcm from Diablo so you could keep your stock pcm ? I just bought the Diablo t2 with moded pcm so if I ever need warranty work I could swap em and dealership won’t know.

How did you identify it was the PCM? I've had this same thing happen a couple times when once when i was installing a new uconnect headunit turned out to just be the unit another time i just power cycled the car and then it came back on.
The PCM is located in the same spot in both the charger/challenger. Passenger side behind the engine. I think the unconnect just needed to reboot

What did you do before unlocking pcm and I have a 21 rt with cold air intake and 4 dynomax race bullets would a Diablo tune help much
I haven't really started modding this yet - just has a mid delete. Going to install an upgraded intake soon. Yes a Diablo 93 tune will help performance

I didn’t realize there was a release clip so I obviously broke it in the top one. After I broke that clip I looked for help and here I am.
