Their arms exports is proof they are far ahead and have more advance reliable systems they are world i think 12 biggest arms exporter soon enter top 10 but India is no where even in top 20

One major point you missed is Turkish Armed Forces foundation has 54% stake in TAI. This has a major impact and forces the armed forces to work together with TAI to develop cutting edge technologies. Whereas, DRDO/HAL isn't funded by armed forces and they can keep changing the goal post all they want since they have nothing to lose.
India only impresses in Tejas Mk1 SWIFT n CATS Warrior but we are behind Turkey in armed drone technology program. Turkey 🇹🇷 has impressed me in almost all projects personally n they have to be praised for their efforts bcoz their R&D is great. India 🇮🇳 has to learn from Turkey n fast.

@@himanshusingh5214 Think from a investors perspective. If it's your money & reputation at stake will you invest in such a high risk business of which no one in India has much experience. Indian forces have a bad habit of buying finalised product from international buyers. They have to start accepting domestic products even if sometimes they are not parallel to international competitors. Like if Airforce wants AMCA to be comparable to F35 / F22 / S57 it won't be in it's first block. But this will lay groundwork for maybe 6th gen fighter compete with Western 6th gen fighters. That's what Turkey is presently doing

In fact personally I kept on questioning myself why Turkey is so much ahead of India in Fighter jets and drone technologies..I though it to be NATO alliance to get the required technical know how easily. But it is well known fact that our Government organizations do NOT have much commercial sense. Government agencies typically have their own vested interests that mar the progress..

turkey is a paper tiger, its overhyped cause of being nato member so it's seen in a positive light always.
Everyone talks about Turkey's Nato membership. Remember, Turkey also got a lot of Embargos and his ally's not selling any kind of that weapons to Turkey. This is now the result of the Embargos, hard work to get independent. Im sure they got some Access to few tech information's but most of it is Homegrown and Battleprofen like the known Champ in his class Bayraktar TB-2, cheap

Türkiye has private companies in defence sector, that have accumulated experience of 3 decades. Now these companies are joining their expertise with goverment's funds.

what a great analysis, that too impartial, I will agree to you with the fact DRDO needs to manage funds wisely and properly, not every demand should be accepted, I would like to point a fact, why every new head of forces, may it be army air force or nave comes and makes its own demands and blocks its older projects, this is one point we need to improve upon. urgency and need to equipment's must be our priority if we are planning for make in INDIA.

I agree. In fact this came to mind few days back when you reported we working on Uttam 3 if I remember correctly. We have no deployed Uttam 1 or 2.. we just keep making versions. This makes me feel Army does all this to push imports.. very frustrated with Army then Airforce..

Yes. I remember when India succeeded in landing a vehicle on the lunar surface, many people in Turkey rejoiced. The reason is that there is a people outside the west (in Asia) who see the development of technology as a success. Because the west underestimates Asia and Africa. It invades any country it wants and imposes sanctions through technology. At this point, Turkey welcomes the developments in its own continent and Africa.

What looks outstanding is their defense production portfolio - the approach is strategic, calculated/gradual and highly focused.. Obviously they don't have to balance against any superpower but those equipments are salable in the market. Looking at their poor economy their approach is highly practical(large chunk comes from govt organisations only).. not like focusing on hundreds of products and reaching nowhere. Even their marketing at europian airshow were pragmatic & practical . Great, you made a comparison here. Our ambition needs to be focused as well.

The whole problem is from the customer side, QSR are not fixed, no solid commitment of orders and on day 1 they need world class equipment (as remarked by Parikar Sir). No consideration of continuous improvement in the future. And because of all this reason private don't dive in R&D we have examples of kalyani, SSS, L&T how their investments aren't able to see the returns

Lack of funding is due to our govt intrest in building temples, statues, advertisement etc. Our govt think god is above science and technology and no doubt god will protect them
Our armed forces requirement seems so virtual......p75i has specs which none in the world can fulfill...... like bharat forge DRDO should collaborate with pvt company to commercialize its research in foreign market....once successful abroad our armed forces will surely accept the product
We need a shift in mindset: pvt, psu, govt and armed forces. The CDS should prioritise this.
Unfortunately many people still seek validation overseas, this needs to stop. We should be comparitive in our approach, but: at the same time find the self confidence to make mistakes and grow. Iteration is key.

The old issues of Taking time to decide what is needed and how to do it initially and then getting approval and initial funds still Haunts Indian establishments. Even though situation is improving but to have a globally competitive efficient environment we still are about 10yrs away. After 2030 or so we will have efficiency like South korea or Turkey but until then these issues will continue. I hope m proven wrong and this cooperative efficiency is achieved before that timemark.

my personal view is there is a difference of perspective between turkey and india. our first moto is defense and attack. since our 2 adversary are much more vulnerable than egypt. their approch is business first then defense. they are investing as their business opportunities but we are high demanding military. our military always go for best weapons from worldwide. things are changing slowly. we are approaching towards self reliant bt it takes time. although we started late but after 10 years we will see a different scenario I'm sure.

ये भी पता होना चाहिए कि आज भी 80 करोड़ लोग मुफ्त राशन खाते है सरकार की तरफ से, अभी भारत की मंजिल बहुत दूर है। सरकार ने बहुत पैसा दिया कावेरी और तेजस, लोग 30 साल की नौकरी करके रिटायर भी हो गए लेकिन इंजन नही बना और तेजस भी पूरा तैयार नहीं। जबतक जिम्मेदारी का निर्धारण नहीं होगा तबतक लोग ऐसे ही नौकरी करके रिटायर हो जाएंगे पर कार्य पूर्ण नही होगा।

Create parallel institutions for R n D. Govt should give more grant money directly to college students n IIT instead of depending on DRDO for everything. Also encourage big business houses to invest in R n D. Tweak tax laws n give incentives. Promote private public partnership in R n D.
Think outside the box n come out with new ways to get things done. Clearly maintaining the ststus quo is not working.

It's stated clearly that the program you are talking about was based on FGFA, which never happened. Indigenous approach to make 5th gen totally in house started in 2018-19. As per your logic that AMCA will never happen as there is no FGFA.

Drspite all the flows IAF will keep using Mig21 , upgrade mig 29 , induct new su30 try to integrate European and Israelis tech and weapons in those Soviet/Russian platforms but will not accept and inprove Indian systems.
At this point they had opportunity to orded more Mk1a and replace Mig21 and develop a production line for any future aircraft

Ok means final conclusion is that:- we have options, that's why indigenous projects are not properly supported nor funded. And now we have very-very much less options, that's why we are working on our own projects. Though it's very late but atleast the progress got started. Slowly and steadily we will saw its good result in upcoming ten to fifteen years.

There is the physical platform, and on top of that is the sensor platform and over that the intelligence platform (including the software that leverages all lower platforms to generate peak performance). India's big mistake is... by insisting on completely indigenizing the physical platform, the parallel work needing to be done to perfect the sensor platform and the software platform is being delayed, so we are consistently lagging the market. Turkey may not be sanctions immune, but they have a much better integrated product because integration and sensor fusion is what they are giving top priority to. In hindsight, all the Turkish engineers I've worked with were pretty good. 🤔

When our own armed forces doesn't show interest in our indigenous products then this will happen.
In this scenario Army officials also can't give clean chit how they are not able to give one time requirement, how delibritely they are change requirement and late the projects and blame the Drdo and aquire foreign projects this angle also to be check.
