We've seen in both Ukraine and Nagorno Karabakh that small scale drones and swarm drones are the most effective threats in modern warfare... India should also invest in a robust air defence that can also take care of drone attacks.

Missiles aren't needed because VL-SRSAM is already there. Don't have to put all the gear on the same vehicle.

You can't depend on foreigners for such systems which will be used in battlefield everyday. Atleast manufacturing should be in India
@@james4807M You are absolutely correct, only thing is that all types of negotiation, approval along with manufacturing should be done very quickly and professionally.

Programmable rounds to lauch counter drone offensive should also be developed indigenously.
Its easier to deploy electronic Warfare. Easy to build capabilites. Multiple utilities.

Could u start sharing knowledge about army recent and latest orders for indgeneous products that be helpful as after years no orders for artillery so obviously there be no orders for this new short range segment as well.

Indian forces have obsession with number 6. Also, Korea jumps on every RFI with their systems, no surprises they get good export numbers.
this system must have capabilities to tackle swarm drone attacks by using soft kill technology and jamming technology.
Range of 30 mm guns must not be less than 5000 mts.
As Admin said, umber of missiles must be more than 6.

why dont india opt for german rain metal antAir craft gun latest one has a option to reprogram the bullet to blast on impact or in air to creat cruster of sharnails right now what happening is that these gun firing multipels of rounds in 100s to creat clusters of bullet to hit the drones or aircraft. In air defance also Missiles also not hit directly to target but blast in air and fire supersonic sharnails towards target, ya Missile do hit target directly also.
Cloud burst shells have become a std feature with drone & swarm drone threats & will have to be home grown Can't rely on imported ammo during war

Defense industry in India is mirror image of Red Tapism and closed and unfavourable system jst like Indian market before 1992.
Look at the example of Ordnance factory made junk Dhanush and L&T offered Bharat 52 and look at the orders from MOD.. U will get ur answer why they aren't investing..
